I can’t vote for McCain. There are plenty of reasons why he is unelectable… but his wartime experiences aren’t among them.

Being from AZ, and being soft on border security; and being a previous POW, but soft on terrorism: are top on my lists.

Being a former POW is not a crime, being a former POW who knows the reality of Geneva, yet chooses to keep his head in the sand is.

I absolutely cannot stand McCain. However, I do agree with the statement Shooter made above.

What a perfect example of class shown by Hillary. There is a ton of stuff to attack McCain on. His choices made under real torture are not among them.

While I don’t know this with certainty, I’ll bet that the person who made the comment to Dowd didn’t serve in Vietnam, was never a POW, and doesn’t know jack shit about what being a soldier is all about.

The person who made that comment is despicable. If Hillary has any moral compass left, she will not only publicly apologize but she’ll fire the asshole.

I disagree with McCain’s politics. Strongly on many issues. But he wore the uniform and fought for his country in a war. He was captured and tortured by a country that ignored the Geneva Conventions. Accordingly, he is deserving of the respect accorded to such men, even if one disagrees with his politics.

These comments by a staffer DIMINISH Hillary as a human being and as a politican.

Newt’s been demonized too much by the MSM and also (rightly or wrongly–I don’t know the facts of the incident) has been tainted with the whiff of scandal for supposedly divorcing his wife while she was in the hospital for cancer treatment.

And anyway, I hope you’ll forgive me for saying this, but he doesn’t have a very presidential-sounding name. Sad as it is, people actually think about that sort of thing when voting. People are stupid.

Like many here, I also am no big fan of John McCain. But being former Air Force, I went through SERE training, and the truth is that NOONE goes through the kinds of things he did and doesn’t give up whatever their asking for.

If Hillary(ous)–or almost any one of the other Demo’s–were in that same position, they would give up far more, far sooner. Billary would give up this entire country ASAP, anyway, since they already agree with the goals of all our enemies.

But as mentioned earlier, McCain will probably not be the nominee(R) because he has proven over and over how much of a self-serving opportunist he can be.

Maybe I’m odd or out of the mainstream of right-wing thought, but to me the only person with serious, conservative principles who is bouncing around the campaign trail is Newt. There are a few good people, but most are nowhere near a conservative vision of leadership other than Newt.

Jihad John McCain is a RINO. He's a sheep in wolf's clothing. Everybody knows that. So, who cares what the Billary camp says about him anyway. I'm sorry for the man, what he had to endure 35 YEARS AGO, but he's been riding the sympathy train long enough. He's done. He's finished as a "self-made man". He's a whipped dog and will do the bidding of the highest bidder. Billary's cup is half full, McCain's is half empty. If McCain ends up the Repub candidate by some hellsih quirk of fate, I'll be voting Libertarian in 2008. Heck, all these dipshits on the Left and the Right almost make me want to vote Libertarian as it is.

If McCain really wanted to endear himself to a base that thinks he is almost as big a loser as Keith Olberman, he would appear on Hannity and Colmes and address Hillary publicly. He would tell the country what she said, and how she later called to apologize. He should then say, I told her she could take her apology and stick it. I wouldn’t vote for him, even after something like that. But, I do so detest Hillary and her scumbag husband.

While I am no McCain fan & I believe the Southern Gent is right that he won’t be the nominee; I find that this is further proof that the elites on the left really don’t support the military. What all John McCain gave up is “between he & his God” to qoute her so called better half. If there were two people who were ever meant for each other that crawled out of the sewer it’s these two. I can’t bear to think of another 8 years of this “co-Presidency”.

McCain gave up FAR MORE than the Packers players names. He gave it all up, over time. He was in the ‘hilton’ a long time, and torture worked on McCain. He regretted it sure, but he gave it up. Most of us would. 99.5 percent of us would.
He also signed a confession that was 100% bullsh*t, to stop the beatings and have a chance at going home.
For Ms. Hellary or her staff to bring it up is …well it shows how low they will go. They must have talked about it, Hillary’s staff, or it wouldnt have been said.

Does anyone remember what Hillary said on January 26, 1992, when Bill & Hillary appeared on “60 Minutes” to confront Gennifer Flowers’s account of a 12-year love affair with the then candidate?
I don’t actually remember her words on that broadcast. But I do recall walking away with the impression that she was untruthful due to her being held hostage by political ambition.
