Good Morning! Indeed!

A great Vent to start the day.
:)

Lawrence on October 13, 2006 at 9:03 AM

Great discussion, ladies. Much better and more civilized than anything we see on TV (Network, Cable or Otherwise). Amazing how many sides can be covered by totally rational people discussing without calling names.

Very well done, ladies. Thank you.

PS,

And Allah, keep working your magic on KP. She is definitely going to be a member of the Dark Side someday. She and Michelle agree on lots more than one thing. Your omnipotent powers are amazing, dude. :)

Subsunk on October 13, 2006 at 9:03 AM

Do this more often! Great segment from all ladies involved.

Travis on October 13, 2006 at 9:04 AM

Wow, I logged on from work to see what was happening and look at what I found! Another episode of “The Vent”.I kinda suspected KP would be part of it. Good to See MKH again. And LaShawn, I’ve always wondered what she looked like. I knew she wasn’t white like she said on April 1st. : ) Great job girls. I would love to see more of this format it is great!

vcferlita on October 13, 2006 at 9:06 AM

If Bethany from RealVerse would have been there, Allah would have officially been in paradise. I’m not sure he could have handled that.

wardrobedoor on October 13, 2006 at 9:06 AM

I’m convinced that the Democrats jumped the gun with their Mark Foley October surprise. I think they meant for it to be reported a week or two before the election but the “Stop Sex Predators” site author got overanxious and posted some Foley e-mails early. This forced Brian Ross of ABC news to make his report (prematurely) a few days later.

pjcomix on October 13, 2006 at 9:08 AM

That was so much better than watching Rosie.

Great Job to All!!!

iNeXuS on October 13, 2006 at 9:13 AM

Great vent! Love the format!

But damn I am so sick of hearing about Foley…

E L Frederick on October 13, 2006 at 9:16 AM

Excellent vent ladies. I imagine getting together on a weekly basis would be too much for your schedules, but as often as you can do it, it’d be a great way to show what reasoned discussion looks like!

dalewalt on October 13, 2006 at 9:23 AM

YES!!!

This Vent rocks. Lots more, please. And see if you can get Elisabeth Hasselbeck to sit in!

Pablo on October 13, 2006 at 9:23 AM

Is there anyway this could become a TV show? I’d watch.

Esthier on October 13, 2006 at 9:23 AM

I’d be thrilled to take MKH to the range should she ever be in SoCal… nothing quite like a beautiful conservative woman who likes to shoot.

hindmost on October 13, 2006 at 9:24 AM

A very pleasant start to the day. If they ladies are in the Houston area, a trip to the shooting range can easily be arranged. Nothing like flaunting the 2nd Ammendment to annoy liberals.

DAT60A3 on October 13, 2006 at 9:24 AM

Mornin’!! I’m disappointed that it wasn’t the “men” from HotAir, but this vent was great! KP is slowly turning to our side. I can see it. And it was nice to hear from La Shawn!!

Now. Can we move on from the Mark Foley thingy? I’m sick of hearing is as well.

If Bethany from RealVerse would have been there, Allah would have officially been in paradise. I’m not sure he could have handled that.

wardrobedoor on October 13, 2006 at 9:06 AM

Allah said he wasn’t there for the taping. maybe they were on a date!!

pullingmyhairout on October 13, 2006 at 9:25 AM

What, no “Rosie”? ;)

Great job, everyone. Just watch out for those mics next time!

insomni on October 13, 2006 at 9:26 AM

Yes, I think Bethany from RealVerse would have been a positive addition, but of course, Ann would have really livened things up a bit:) Good job ladies.

wytammic on October 13, 2006 at 9:28 AM

We’re just warming up. Wait ’til next week. ;)

Michelle on October 13, 2006 at 9:39 AM

You’re going places, Lady! ;-)

Pablo on October 13, 2006 at 9:43 AM

The KPHQ was pretty high today. Very nicely done.
It’s good to see some intelligent beautiful ladies having intelligent politcal discourse. Much much better than that windbag Rosie demanding our 2nd Ammend. rights be taken away.
I read KP’s blog from time to time to see thoughts on the “other side”, only because it’s the only Democrat blog I can take without wanting to punch the monitor because of the writers stupidity.

bentman78 on October 13, 2006 at 9:45 AM

Michelle,

I too am sick of the Foley story. But, what I can’t understand is how the hell did Foley get elected? Like you said, he seems real creepy. I havn’t seen that much of him on TV over the years, so I can’t really see what he brought to the table for voters. How did he manage to work his way all the way to the House? Was his daddy in politics? Did he have big money supporters? What was the deal.

Shmo on October 13, 2006 at 9:47 AM

The ladies of the MSM like Katie, Diane, Kelly and Connie simply don’t have a chance with the kind of smarts, savvy and apppealling presentations you ALL put forth!

The future has arrived and not a minute too soon.

Webutante on October 13, 2006 at 9:50 AM

Good one! Nice to see La Shawn Barber in action, too. Might I make a recommendation for the next one? Try and get Emily Zanotti from American Princess to make an appearance. I know she’s in Michigan, but try anyway!

jaleach on October 13, 2006 at 9:51 AM

Fantastic!

It’s good to see some intelligent beautiful ladies having intelligent politcal discourse. Much much better than that windbag Rosie demanding our 2nd Ammend. rights be taken away. bentman78 on October 13, 2006 at 9:45 AM

I totally agree. Keep it coming, ladies!

BlueStateBlues on October 13, 2006 at 9:51 AM

WOW Awesome Vent what a great morning show!

I throughly enjoyed it. I do not know if I’m the first to cal this but I have said in other blogs and debate groups that the blogs will turn into more mainstream news outlets. Hotair in particular seems the most ready to make this transition. Michelle could have O’Reilly on her show.

I really am impressed by the quality and class show by these ladies. Bravo.

Theworldisnotenough on October 13, 2006 at 9:53 AM

OK, MSM; if you want to make some dent in your miserable ratings, this is the crew to put in charge of a news program!

KP is a great (and very eye-pleasing) addition; a monogamy of views can be quite boring. She indeed proves that liberals can be traditionalists (per O’Reilly’s definition) as well and those you can easily respect.

pjcomix, I’ve seen reports that the intent was to hold the story until Oct. 20th. Why act immediately to counter a potential sexual predator when you can keep it to yourself for political advantage? A traditionalist- conservative or liberal- would have revealed him immediately. A secular progressive only sees the political advantage and holds the news to do the most damage; they have no morals themselves.

Fortunately for all, the Foley flake didn’t take it to the next level before he was revealed.

Mike O on October 13, 2006 at 9:53 AM

I swear, this whole site gives me hope for the future.

Esthier on October 13, 2006 at 9:54 AM

Getting O’Reilly on would be a great turnaround! He doesn’t respect the blogosphere as much as he should and it would be an illumination to him, which he desperately needs. It’s not all Kos Krazy insanity out here and he certainly couldn’t fault the company he’s have at Hot Air!

Mike O on October 13, 2006 at 9:58 AM

We’re just warming up. Wait ’til next week. ;)

Hot-cha-cha! Now THAT’s what I like to hear!

Farmer_Joe on October 13, 2006 at 10:00 AM

Two observations:

1) I agree with the poster who said that it’s wonderful to see people discussing these issues without hostility. If the mainstream of political conversation in this country were more like that, we’d be in better shape than we are today.

2) Y’all can keep Bethany. Give me MKH any day! She makes my heart go pitter-pat!

Farmer_Joe on October 13, 2006 at 10:06 AM

I’m not a big fan of Denny Hastert and I was very opposed to him resigning. I still am, but less so, especially after watching some of this discussion. My view is more he took a safer course, rather than he didn’t know what Foley was up to. I think he knew that Foley had to go, but they were afraid to start something with the ‘you’re making him resign because he’s gay’ crowd. I think if they had forced that issue, it would have blown up in their face with the media (I think Andrew Sullivan would have literally exploded from apoplexy) even with the involvement of pages. This has nothing to do with kids for the media or the dems; San Fran Nan is a NAMBLA fan. This was political from the start and both sides deserve their lumps. As to this vent, I really enjoyed it. I enjoy MKH at townhall and powers is good for a surpise or two. Lashawn was a little quiet but she had good points when she did speak up. I hope you guys bring this format back every now and then. Have a great weekend.

austinnelly on October 13, 2006 at 10:06 AM

We’re just warming up. Wait ’til next week. ;)

The only way you can top this one is to have KP jump ship and join the conservatives. In any case, she’s much more pleasant to listen to than Rosie and definitely easier on the eyes.

Also, I wanted to thank you Michelle for not following the party line on the Foley issue and calling it like you see it. That’s the kind of stuff that has earned you my respect.

Benaiah on October 13, 2006 at 10:08 AM

Wow! Disagreement without personal attacks!?! How refreshing. Thanks for a discussion without rancor (feigned or real).

MCPO Airdale on October 13, 2006 at 10:10 AM

Now that was absolutely awesome! Keep up the good work ladies!

AZPatriot on October 13, 2006 at 10:16 AM

Excellent vent! WOW..4 intelligent women talking and discussing REAL issues..what a concept!
No screeching, no screaming, no mugging for the camera. Just reasoned, intelligent, talk.
REFRESHING!

labwrs on October 13, 2006 at 10:19 AM

I swear, this whole site gives me hope for the future.

Well, most of the time. But we need to get out resident deity to buck up a little. I get a little edgy when an omniscient being says it’s all going to Hell. ;-)

Pablo on October 13, 2006 at 10:21 AM

This format rocks. And this cast rocks. It’s more personal, more approachable, more fluid. More please.

Regarding the Foley story, as with most things, it isn’t about the scandal — it’s about the coverup. Or, from what we know in this case, the very questionable lack of suspicion.

I also don’t think that questioning the timing of the story wins you any points. Which is worse: exposing moral corruption for political gain, or hiding moral corruption for political gain? Of course it was political… but that doesn’t make it untrue, or obviate the need to deal with the issue. La Shawn nailed it: they should have dealt with it years go. It is only because they ignored it that they have been forced into dealing with it at an inopportune time.

Mark Jaquith on October 13, 2006 at 10:22 AM

Great show, ladies! I hope this becomes a regular weekly feature. And by the way, if KP is excommunicated by the left for this, she’s always welcome on our side in my book.

Greg Tinti on October 13, 2006 at 10:26 AM

Excellent panel of guests.

Cool selection of topics.

Polite, quiet discussion.

What a Concept!…. A winning combination.
Would like to see this more often!

From personal experience, the P.G. County Trap and Skeet Center or NRA Headquarters Indoor Rifle/Pistol Range would be superb outing.

shellyanne on October 13, 2006 at 10:30 AM

Do it again! Better yet get Fox to air it at teh same time spot as the view and kill their ratings!

Good Work, it went well with my morning coffee.

Shack on October 13, 2006 at 10:37 AM

BS. Foley is a homosexual, not a pedophile. Foley is being used as fodder for liberal attacks on the right, and nothing more. IF Foley were a liberal democrat, he’d be one of their cherished homosexual elite, instead, they are using his homosexuality against the GOP. Says a LOT about the liberal mind, and THAT’S what the GOP should be steering the media attention towards. Talk of others resigning because of Foley’s perverse lustful stupidity is foolishness, and only lends faux credibility to what the liberal democrats are trying to do. No one conservative should even agree to discuss such nonsense.

NRA4Freedom on October 13, 2006 at 10:39 AM

Hey Allah,

Can you post us a nice stil-shot of these ladies to download?

I gave it a try, but my technology isn’t up to the task.

Thanks,

High Desert Wanderer on October 13, 2006 at 10:51 AM

I have died and gone to heaven and have returned to tell you of what I saw. I saw 4 beautiful, intelligent women discussing American politics in a reasoned, respectful manner.

What? You mean that was real? Surely, the Kingdom of God is at hand :-)

I admit, I would have liked to see Bethany on this, but then I would have to check my pulse to see if I really had died.

Great Vent, ladies. You give us all hope.

theholyhermit on October 13, 2006 at 10:54 AM

IF Foley were a liberal democrat, he’d be one of their cherished homosexual elite, instead, they are using his homosexuality against the GOP.

NRA4Freedom on October 13, 2006 at 10:39 AM

Exactly.

If Foley where a Democrat his antics would be defended as a life-style choice, instead of perversion.

Lawrence on October 13, 2006 at 10:54 AM

So when is FOX going to pick your show up?

Carvin Guitar Man on October 13, 2006 at 10:54 AM

La Shawn I agree with you Hastert should go it needs to be taken seriously.

MKH I am as uncomfortable as you were with the vague way this began but this is high stakes were they are and Hastert fumbled he has to go!

KP it is great to see you here! And don’t let the other posters coerce you into being Darth Powers. We need someone dragging us back from the edge every now and then. Thanks Allah for bringing her to our attention.

Michelle nuf said luv ya!

This format was great! I can’t wait till next week! Can we do it tomorrow? Please? Really? No Really? And for the record I agree it would be great with Bethany every now and then.

Priest on October 13, 2006 at 10:58 AM

The left places the right between the rock and the hard place — imagine what the headlines would have looked like had the Republicans, led by Hastert, would have (gasp!) censured or even been critical of Foley’s actions on their own? We are constantly being faced with the lose-lose situation by their disengenuous choice of tactics.

On another note, I couldn’t help but notice what REAL diversity looks like when viewing this superb Vent…

Bravo, ladies.

The Machine on October 13, 2006 at 11:02 AM

Awesome. Awesome. Awesome. The Vent versus The View.

Imagine this as a show on Fox News Channel. WOW!

Can’t wait ’til the next one. Kick “A” and rock on!

BTW, when you make a trip to the gun range, get a photo of all four of you standing togething wielding guns. THAT’S YOUR LOGO!

Lone Star on October 13, 2006 at 11:03 AM

Most excellent. I’m completely addicted. I would like to request 365 of “The Vent” ’s per year.

MKH had some audio problems. Studio team, please fix this. La Shawn put herself down too much over on her site. Relax, this was the first go of this format. You’ll be ready for network tv in no time at all.

Allah, do you keep a watch on the hits on “The Vent”? Can you tell us how may people have seen this? I will email the permalink to just about every one I know.

Carvin Guitar Man, I just love your axes.

There you go. Good things DO happen on Friday the 13th.

PS. Where did you find the font for “The View/The Vent”? I’ve been looking…

GPE on October 13, 2006 at 11:17 AM

Heh heh heh (maniacally) … KP is slowly being drawn into the dark side … (more maniacal laughter).

Glad MKH, LaShawn, and Michelle are already there.

thirteen28 on October 13, 2006 at 11:18 AM

I agree we should definitely look at Hastert’s and Foley’s personal information; maybe we could use those tricks Banned at the NSA/CIA meant for Al Qaeda.

These two guys need to be booted. /sarc

Btw, do you guys know that many, and I mean many, teenagers are openly gay? They don’t hide it at HS. I say this because I’m sure most decent HotAir Moms and Dads don’t know the reality of our culture.

I wasn’t shocked by the emails. It seemed that an openly gay male student was on the other end of those emails enjoying it.

I once saw a video prepared for a Church Youth Group meeting – it was merely to display, what some argue, is the negative of our culture. The video showed High School students at a particular High School. The video showed huffers (look it up), beer drinkers (real big and tough Football players/Female Cheer Leaders), risque hetero students and – Yes, openly gay students at high school making out in hallways during the Common hour and in between classes. Ask your little kiddo tonight if this is the case at their school – sorry to say but when they tell you ‘no’ they are not being quite honest.

Anyhow, I said all that to say the following – politics is being played here and the conservatives shouldn’t lose. Sure Foley is a done deal but Hastert shouldn’t be harrassed much. All sides are the same. Politics is meant to push ideas, ideals and legislate via puppets. Let them be ours.

The Dems don’t really want us digging up Hasset’s email, Foley’s email or Al Qaeda’s email.

ar_basin on October 13, 2006 at 11:19 AM

You definitely need to get this crew to the range. Talk about the First and Second Amendments. Fill some gallon milk jugs with water and watch them splatter. Michelle could teach KP which end of the gun to hold. It’ll be a classic.

RedWinged Blackbird on October 13, 2006 at 11:24 AM

I think you have a winner of an idea. A little more oncamera seasoning for La Shawn and Mary, and they should become quite good at this. Upgrading their wardrobes a bit too, should also help them with their “presence.” How about partying up with the makeover crew!

Nice to see such sweet savy ladies as M and K collaborating together.

How about some roundtable interviews of guest speakers? Let the ladies put everyone on the “Hot” seat.

Loved the vent. The microphones popped quite a bit, and the setting was a bit TOO informal if you wanted to mimic the View. Smaller couches and sit closer together, but really great content.

BelchSpeak on October 13, 2006 at 12:05 PM

I never watch “The View,” so I have no frame of reference for comparison. But I guess I’ll cast a minority dissenting voice about the relative worth of this particular episode of “The Vent.”

I am so sick and tired of all things Foley. This pseudo-story jumped the shark last week, so to see it leading off the discussion topics was a tremendous disappointment, especially given what other more recent matters of consequence that could’ve been discussed (e.g., Harry Reid’s shenanigans, North Korea).

Yes, I do indeed like “the view” of checking out the Vent – especially when it’s Michelle or Bethany – but I also like substance, and Foley is not it.

And discussions of email were also less-than-enthralling to watch and listen to.

Upshot: I grew up with 4 older sisters, so I’m no stranger to the innate ability of women to get together and talk at great length about nothing. But I expected more here, especially given the collection of firepower that was assembled.

Well, maybe next time.

Spurius Ligustinus on October 13, 2006 at 12:07 PM

I just had a thought. I would have been very funny to put outtakes after this vent where Michelle and KP were having a fist fight and tumbled over the couch while strangling each other.

That and I think AP would have been stricken speechless from watching it. ;)

Much better and more civilized than anything we see on TV (Network, Cable or Otherwise). Amazing how many sides can be covered by totally rational people discussing without calling names.

a great way to show what reasoned discussion looks like!

Wow! Disagreement without personal attacks!?! How refreshing. Thanks for a discussion without rancor (feigned or real).

REFRESHING!

Polite, quiet discussion.

I have died and gone to heaven and have returned to tell you of what I saw. I saw 4 beautiful, intelligent women discussing American politics in a reasoned, respectful manner.

The common thread of course, is “reasoned” and “polite”. So it seems a lot of people crave that on video. Do we also want that in our comments? Honora and GregH are two lefties/liberals on this site. Should we hold ourselves to the same standards of courtesy when talking with them? Or should we slag them with vitriol (sic?) when they post what we don’t agree with?

My two cents? Attack the ideas, not the person. And you don’t have to be sickeningly, overly polite when you do it. If an idea is ridiculous, stupid, or idiotic, say it is so. But you don’t want to say the person behind the idea is ridiculous, stupid, or idiotic.

“That idea is ridiculous, idiotic, or stupid.”

VS

You are ridiculous, idiotic, and stupid.”

Don’t get me wrong. Like I said, we don’t have to be sickeningly polite. Sarcasm, cutting observations etc all are great and make for great reading.

And let’s face it. When you are face to face with someone, the usual tendency is towards politeness, where as it is easier to slag someone from the distance of our keyboards.

So I guess the question is: Do we really want reasoned debate? Or not?

Just my two cents.

P.S. YOU ALL NEED TO RECOGNIZE WHO CALLED IT FIRST!!!

Is Michelle Malkin doing a video with Kirsten Powers as a guest?

CrimsonFisted on October 13, 2006 at 12:47 PM

I decided to sleep in this morning, so I’m coming to this late.

I agree with all the kudos about this Vent. I strongly agree with the suggestions that the four of you (or 5 if you could include Bethany) would make a killer Cable show opposite The View. I really think, Michelle, you should consider developing this concept.

As to Foley/Hastert? Sigh. You’ll note that I am mostly ignoring this non-story and not commenting about it. Whatever angst we conservatives have over it should be placed behind us. The Democrats want this so-called “story” to go on and on and on and on and on until the 1st Tuesday in November for obvious reasons. Why add to the nonsense?

What is important are the substanstial issues of national security, taxes and spending, corrupt elected officials, and what direction this nation should take.

Any decision of who should be the Speaker of the House actually belongs in a discussion to be had after the election for the NEW Congress, not a lame duck one that isn’t even in session.

Harry Reid’s financial corruption is INVISIBLE with respect to the mainstream media, so a View-type Vent dealing with the lack of reporting as evidence of bias in the media would have been much better than rehashing Foley.

Michelle, I really enjoyed this Vent. please do it again!

georgej on October 13, 2006 at 12:48 PM

Great Vent, and nice format, but I agree with a few others, I’m tired of this Foley thing.

For whoever asked AP for a screen cap “Ctrl+print screen” and past in a photoshop type program.

Also, for those talking about Bethany making an appearance… I don’t know, but I think that’s not that likely because she’s in Nashville, and I think all these other ladies are DC area residents.

You know what you could do though? Without having the budget of the TV stations, you might wonder how could you do have guests that aren’t physically there, like how MM appears on O’Reilly a lot. Well if everyone gets Bluetooth enabled phones, you could use a bluetooth headset like an IFB. Then, during the segment, the both parties would have a camera running. Later they could be uploaded and someone (Bryan?) could splice them to fit together. Make any sense?

Anyway, I have to point out that it’s weird without creepy old Bill dictating the conversation between MM and KP. No bloviating. Ninnyhammer. Poppinjay. Whatever the annoying word is for the day.

RightWinged on October 13, 2006 at 12:51 PM

Exfoleyation! Great line. This should be a regular occurrence. Fox has that Plugged In or whatever it’s called with hunky Bill Hemmer where he’s always showing things from ewe tube. Instead of dancing fools this would be something that was excellent. This is a nice format without the shouting down! Nice to see LaShawn.

Catie96706 on October 13, 2006 at 12:56 PM

So Tammy Bruce would be this group’s Rosie right?
Advantage – The Vent!

Now, about this trip to a gun range – surely the vid of this outing will close with still photos à la Liddy’s “Stacked and Packed Calendar”. I mean how could it not?

“Behind The Scenes @ The Vent’s Gun Range Trip” DVD – $24.99

Just kidding. Sort of.
Anyway, wrt today’s Vent, TV execs have to be either nuts or wildly partisan if they don’t see that there is an audience primed and waiting for for a sensible View.

Stephen M on October 13, 2006 at 1:01 PM

My impression: Friday light. Not overly impressed, but to each their own.

People need to make their mind up on what a male is allowed to do; Asking for a picture (my God the man is a pedophile) and even worse other people that see such communication should know he is a pedophile. Sarcasm intended.

Thank God, we can at last put an end to men becoming more in touch with their softer side. Time for the return of the strong, silent law and order type of male.

Benaiah on October 13, 2006 at 12:09 PM

Yeah, that would have been good. Except AP was already stricken speechless at about the 45 second mark when KP did her first and only “hair flip.”

Ahhhh, the hair flip.

Anyway, what you’re talking about probably would have put him over the edge into full blown cardiac arrest. If he isn’t already. Speaking of which, I haven’t seen him post anything. Uhh… somebody in the HOTAIR staff, please call AP and check to see if he is alright. Just in case…

Okay, four intelligent women who can smartly discuss an issue. It’s the opposite of The View because it’s four intelligent, empowered women who are not self-absorbed, obnoxious and arrogant.

If these four women do visit the gun range, as MM suggested, it must be vlogged. MUST BE VLOGGED!

Eight more makes a calendar!

AP has modem issues and will be back this afternoon. He conveyed in last night’s thread which announced this surprise vent.

Watched this vent from home because it’s not always easy to get away at work. Especially happy for the concept. Guests could vary/rotate. O’Reilly loves the company of ladies and would be a good guest too, at least for 1-2 times…

Loved the black cat, behind KP. I have a real one and he’s cool. Has to stay in the house ahead of Halloween.

Must film one of these vents from a shooting range. I question what KP’s function would be but maybe she’ll surprise us. Make sure you give each lady a clean target so you can show the final results and have a winning prize. The guys on HA, the guys everywhere, will go ‘crazy’!

My aim at a range is never to just shoot – it’s to hit the center every time! Exhilarating! Hardest with a Luger. Yes, I own one, among others. No, Nancy Pelosi, you won’t get your claws on it.

LaShawn is such an intelligent and nice lady; no need to be so self-conscious.

These vents should be shown in Fox shows, instead of or similar to the Grapevine segments.

Thanks for such a pleasant Friday the 13th (which is amusing) surprise. Consider a spoofy one for Halloween and make us guess who’s under the masks…

I question what KP’s function would be but maybe she’ll surprise us.

Maybe she’ll discover that she really enjoys shooting and that gun control means using both hands.

RedWinged Blackbird on October 13, 2006 at 2:19 PM

Ladies, thanks for presenting the alternate “View.” So… when will we see 30 minutes of this on FOX?

Mojave Mark on October 13, 2006 at 2:33 PM

Maybe she’ll discover that she really enjoys shooting and that gun control means using both hands.

I never heard it stated that way.

Great Production Bryan! And great flow to conversation. All four are naturals in front of the camera! When does the show get syndicated?

Drtuddle on October 13, 2006 at 2:35 PM

Great Vent! Relaxed, interesting, perhaps Hot Air will do more of these with other content.

This new presentation was intersting and I hope to see more of it.

I dunno…Kirsten seemed kinda harsh ‘n shrill to me. Michelle should have taken her by the hand and asked her to please calm down.

The Ugly American on October 13, 2006 at 3:12 PM

Oh…and you might wanna check the sound levels on those mics. It got a bit distorted here ‘n there.

And tell MKH to quit fidgitin’ ; )

The Ugly American on October 13, 2006 at 3:15 PM

The best moment of this segnment was when MKH became animated regarding hatemeil – the other gals perked straight up. My suggestion for future segments would be for each lady to have one particular issue that had affected them recently. Then, have that lady interject and not wait for directin from MM. It is too stilted when the group relies on a host for direction/traffic.

Each of these ladies are moe than capable of adding humor and passion and should not be reticent to speak out. It is not a bad thing to talk over each other and react with laughter and wit. It’s the key to making good talking head TV, actually. Of course, it’s when things degenerate into ad hominem attacks that we all tune out. But these particular ladies simply wouldn’t go there. So, ladies – let it fly!

You each already have our respect and admiration. Come on out and play. Don’t worry about format. This isn’t mass media and we promise not to focus group y’all. Let your considerable charms shine through. Worst case? MM erases all evidence of a segment and you do another one for distribution.

Now, the first one to call another “Star” has to go to timeout.

I can’t bring myself to watch The Vent with KP on…

I guess I can’t stand liberals. I guess I truly hate liberals.

I thought The Vent had a liberal slant to it. The girl to the far left, Mary, was on her heels as everyone was against Dennis Hastert. Plus KP looked uncomfortable.

Good luck Michelle.

ar_basin on October 13, 2006 at 3:23 PM

ar_basin,
each to their own. But dismissing the other side because you catagoricly dislike them, and refusing to even hear what they say is a liberal tool. Without another side their can be no discussion. When their is no discussion the only option is a totalatarian lock step.

Distance should not be an issue in regards to The Vent Line up. As long as their is broadband and a fairly decent web cam you can have people in multiple states as guests on the vent.

How about a Hot Air party in Northern VA or DC? Part of the celabration can be an afternoon at the NRA range (been wanting an excuse to go their) Be great to see “The Vent” filmed live out their.

More! More!

Standing ovation!

rightwingprof on October 13, 2006 at 4:36 PM

I loved the concept, but it was a tad hard to hear sometimes. Now if we can get Laura Ingraham, Laura Schlessinger, and Tammy Bruce to rotate in sometimes…WOWZA.
