Video: “White & Nerdy”
posted at 9:38 pm on October 11, 2006 by Allahpundit
It’s a slow news night and there might be three or four readers who haven’t seen this yet on YouTube. So here you go.
South Park is taking on the Truthers at 10 on Comedy Central. There’ll be video here later on, I’m sure.

I guess I am one.
Weird Al is a real poet…
Guess that makes me white & nerdy.

Thanks for the tip on South Park AP, didn’t even know about it. This ought to be good, though I don’t know if it can top the Muhammad cartoons episode.

I’ll admit being one of those who hadn’t seen this yet. Just hilarious.
Was that Donny Osmond dancing in the background?

RE: SP
I’ve never heard so many different euphemisms for “terd”. Fantastic.

All I have to say is Grand for Trye and Matt…that was too hillarious! Once again, they do not discriminate…
lsutiger on October 11, 2006 at 10:33 PM
Well, it’s either Whit & Nerdy or Japanese & Nerdy…
Take anything you want.
Don’t make fun of me.

Thank you AP. That made my night. Scares me how much of me he described in there though. Hmmmm. I might have to think about that part.

Editor, that made my night.

I understand Steve Urkel has planned a protest march at Weird Al’s next concert.

Go South Park.

Sorry man, but I see you got it on the new thread.
RightWinged on October 12, 2006 at 12:23 AM
I think that was Donnie Osmond…nice little bit of comedy with just his presence…plus his dancing was just goofy and funny. I’m just a satire junky..I forgot what a hoot Weird Al can be…fluent in java script as well as Klingon. Hee hee.

Just that everyone has been all about that song lately.

Donny Osmond was ausome!
purpleslog on October 12, 2006 at 1:41 AM
Wow, I guess I’m one of the three or four as well, that was cool.
I like the line about being whiter than sour cream, it’s funny ’cause it’s true.

I bought the dual disc CD/DVD the first day. My friends at work love it too. The videos on the DVD side are great, the best being a ‘behind the scenes’of Al and band at work in the studio filmed by Al’s wife, edited by Al. How many other artists who started in the late 1970′s are still selling albums/making music? Besides Al and maybe Bruce Cockburn?
(Man! I’m white and nerdy too!)

What I have always liked about Weird Al is that he captures the heart of what he’s making fun of so well…really good satire can actually surpass what it’s mocking and take on a life of its own. Check out Terry Pratchett and his Discworld series. It started out spoofing the fantasy genre and it grew into a massive series with many beloved characters and story lines. Want a really good laugh? Dig into the Samuel Vimes character; some of his observations on law and order and politics are priceless. And yes, knowing pratchett makes you very nerdy…(he’s very big in the UK; not sure how much so in the states; for a while, we tried to have a meet up with Austin fans but we never found a 4th to make it happen..;)

That was mind-blowing.
