Yeah, yeah. But there’s very little direct contradiction of anything in the book. It’s more like “oh well, Woodward drew the wrong conclusion” or the Rice “I have no memory of that meeting (how Nixonian!)”, then “Ok there was a meeting but nothing special re impending attack”, then “Ok there was discussion of an impending attack but nothing so significant that I passed it on”, then “ok there was info I passed on….”

The only one who is really challenging Woodward’s assertions is Snow, and that very generally. There’s a surprise.

I finished this over the weekend. It’s the most depressing thing I’ve read in ages. The Garner stuff alone (Q: In Rumsfeld world, how long do you give yourself to prepare for post war Iraq? A: 2 months) is positively Shakespeareanly tragic.

BacaDog—Yup! That’s the story. Plus I took a look at Woodward’s book today and turned to page 344 and there it was. The accusation that Carville spilled the beans on Kerry’s vote challenge plan. Until it gets straightened out, Carville will be UNWELCOME by the Leftwing Blogosphere.

So far as Woodward is concerned, he’s just neurotic and struggling with deep hasbeenism.
He’s willing to castigate his own mother for a little air time.

The part about Carville tipping off the Bush administration is just too hilarious.
That clock stopping, hob goblin is the best REPUBLICAN operative the Democrats have.
I suppose that’s why elections come right after Halloween.
