Sunday football: TO, Cowboys, etc
posted at 8:51 pm on October 8, 2006 by Ian

I’m not a big fan of either team, but it’s always nice to see the Cowboys lose, especially when you know someone who is a huge fan. I’m not trying to go Jerry Seinfeld on you, but what’s the deal with Terrell Owens? All week long the press hyped the TO-McNabb showdown as must-see TV. What a shame that TO was practically shutout.
From all of this Cowboy bashing you would think I’m an Eagles fan. Nah, just a hard core Redskins fan. The excitement of a Cowboys loss was equally just as depressing as a Redskins loss.
Tonight’s game should be a good one. So should tomorrow’s contest.

Bigtime Redskins fan here, too… despite having lived in Texas all my life. (Left the boys when Jerry Jones came on the scene).
I’m doubly happy today because McNabb is my QB in fantasy football… and he’s propelled me into first place in my league!
Now if the Skins could stop sucking, all would be right in the NFL!
TexasRainmaker on October 8, 2006 at 9:05 PM
Wow, I have even been able to get my latest on sports just clicking Hot Air.
I like it!
flyboy777 on October 8, 2006 at 9:19 PM
I’m also a Cowboys-hater living in Dallas. Want to hear a bunch of whining from the Cowboy fans? Listen to a long, call-in sports talk show here, it’s still going on 2 hours after the game ended:

Bengals are on a bye this week. Thus, NFL did not occur.
That is all
HerrMorgenholz on October 8, 2006 at 9:31 PM
yea bears
rockdalian on October 8, 2006 at 9:36 PM
Well I can’t stand Owens and I can’t stand the Cowboys but I really can’t say anything as I’m a Raiders fan. :(
Benaiah on October 8, 2006 at 9:44 PM
WOOO HOOOOOOOO!! GO EAGLESSSSSSS!!!!
Ha! T.O.! You suck! HAAA! Hahahahaaaaaa!
A whole thread for this? AWESOME!
Bryan, where are you?
Tony737 on October 8, 2006 at 9:50 PM
“America’s Team”
That title SHOULD belong to the Eagles. The eagle is our national symbol and Philadelphia is the birthplace of America.
Tony737 on October 8, 2006 at 9:56 PM
As a Cowboys fan, it’s time to begin the Tony Romo era.
Bledsoe should be put out to pasture – and he will all week on the local sports shows.
Hoodlumman on October 8, 2006 at 10:01 PM
I’m here, considering banning everyone but Hoodlumman.
And yeah, Bledsoe looked like he was lost for most of this game. Some blocking might have helped, but probably not.
Bryan on October 8, 2006 at 10:10 PM
Some of us figured that out a few World Championships ago.
Love,
The Patriots Fans
P.S. Please send our regards to the Tuna.
Pablo on October 8, 2006 at 10:14 PM
I just got home from the game an hour or so ago.
All I have to say is….
DALLAS SUCKS.
World B. Free on October 8, 2006 at 10:19 PM
Hiya Bryan, I’m glad to see that you can find the humor in this, you’re a good sport (a little kissin’ up to avoid getting a bad case of the banz).
Hey, ya know why Austin doesn’t have a professional football team?
‘Cause then Dallas would want one too :-)
Tony737 on October 8, 2006 at 10:21 PM
Five Super Bowl championships, Tony.
Five.
How many do your Eagirls have?
Bryan on October 8, 2006 at 10:24 PM
None, but last season doesn’t matter, 10 years ago doesn’t matter, 30 years ago doesn’t matter. In sports, the only thing that matters is THIS season.
Tony737 on October 8, 2006 at 10:28 PM
Hello? Losers?
So far this year, it’s all about the Bears.
I thought we had this all straightened out?
Jaibones on October 8, 2006 at 10:59 PM
It’s still BASEBALL SEASON!!
sheeeesh..I told you so..Cards win!
OK..football comment: Peyton Manning pulls his usual drive and wins the game! GO COLTS
TO is a team killer..hire him and see your team wilt from all the “drama”.
labwrs on October 8, 2006 at 11:10 PM
It is hard to support a team that treated Tom Landry so poorly. I’m surprised that Jerry Jones hasn’t been terminated with “extreme prejudice”. Now if our Texans could ever get an offensive line, there might be a Texas team worth rooting for.
DAT60A3 on October 8, 2006 at 11:33 PM
Chargers take out the Super Bowl champs
Lights out baby!
Defector01 on October 8, 2006 at 11:44 PM
It always matters, Tony. Take your little victory today, and enjoy it – because when it really matters, the Eagles always choke.
Rick on October 8, 2006 at 11:50 PM
I’m just trying to recover from the shock of the destruction the Bears wrought on my beloved Seahawks last week… : (
gmoonster on October 9, 2006 at 1:00 AM
It’s a long season so squeagles take your vengeance victory but history dictates Squeagles will choke. I think TO has a Christmas present for Dallas and it’s not prescription pills!
Drtuddle on October 9, 2006 at 1:28 AM
Bill Parcells has man boobs.
Bellicose Muse on October 9, 2006 at 4:12 AM
Rick and DrT, it’s very sad but very true, the Eagles are famous for choking, no one knows what’ll happen this year, we’ll see.
Tony737 on October 9, 2006 at 5:10 AM
Lito Sheppard taking it fr 102 yards was just the thing Philly needed to make us believe. McNabb is on fire, the Cowgirls are 2-2, what could be better?
sswenviron on October 9, 2006 at 5:37 AM
Ahem. “America’s Team” is DA-BEARS!
georgej on October 9, 2006 at 5:51 AM
Man, that was a great finish! I just hope T.O. doesn’t try to off himself again.
Tony737 on October 9, 2006 at 6:14 AM
*ahem* GO GIANTS
JVelez on October 9, 2006 at 8:33 AM
Dallas fans Huh?? Good luck this year you will need it. Not that you have a bad Team mind you….You have a good “D” some very good talent on O and the Tuna! That makes a quality team….. Oh…That’s right you have invited the Devil to join your team and you will pay for it. Dallas fans like to quote history…McNabb Chokes and Dallas has won five Championships. I think you forgot some History!? Every team T.O. Has played for as a Pro has been ripped apart by his antics. In his post game news conference he threw Bledsoe under the bus. Everyone knows that Bledsoe is a good QB not a great one and you will win some games. But as History dictated you will be a lot worse off at the end of the year. That OK by me…..I couldn’t think of a better fan base to watch suffer and squirm.
I don’t consider Dallas “Americas Team”. I always look at Dallas as the “Liberal Left’s Team” Which other team could have criminals, drug attics, drug dealers, women abuser,
Loudmouth’s and just general a$$ holez and the MSM proclaim them. “Americas Team”
I know I know…their personal life should be left out right of this?
So keep on bragging about the Cowgirls. I being a Conservative…and an Eagle fan must keep my eyes on the facts, the Standings.
Wins Loses
Philadelphia 4 1
Dallas 2 2
NY 2 2
Redskins 2 3
Dallas Sucks!! T.O. Swallows !!……Pills
Fandango on October 9, 2006 at 8:48 AM
Ha! Good one Fandango!
Hey, doesn’t T.O. kinda look like Dwayne from “A Different World”? Draw those glasses he wore on a picture of Owens and he looks just like Dwayne Wayne! Muah hahahaaaaa
Tony737 on October 9, 2006 at 8:52 AM
That would be “Addict” Still a little hung over from the celebration.
Fandango on October 9, 2006 at 8:54 AM
Wow, suprise! Cowboys haters. Boy, that’s orginal. Wish you had a team half as good.
Philly, America’s team? now that’s funny!
How many championship games has McNabb won? o, right, sorry.
Brian on October 9, 2006 at 8:56 AM
A whining cowgirls fan… That’s par!!
Fact McNabb hasn’t won a Super Bowl.
Which one did Bledsoe win?
Oh there I go again looking at fact’s!
Fandango on October 9, 2006 at 9:33 AM
Terrell Who? :)
BigOrangeAxe on October 9, 2006 at 10:06 AM
Hmm, fact’s
Here’s some.
Dallas – 5 Superbowl wins.
Philly cheesesteaks – zero
Dallas has lost more supebowls than Philly has even been in. I know it sucks being 2nd rate in your own state. Who’s the current superbowl champ again?
Philly, the city of brotherly shove! How’s battery sales for this winters games going?
Brian on October 9, 2006 at 10:17 AM
Wake up kids…GO BRONCOS!!!

I’m a Chicago guy, so of course, go Bears. But also go Indy and go Baltimore. Somebody make those idiot 72 Dolphins go away.
moc23 on October 9, 2006 at 10:34 AM
And as long as we’re on the subject:
Go St. Rita. Beat MC this Friday.
moc23 on October 9, 2006 at 10:35 AM
Flyers fan here, Rightside. My boys are 0-1-1 but it’s early yet.
Flyers have a history of choking in the Big Game, just like the Eagles.
Tony737 on October 9, 2006 at 11:03 AM
Philly 4 major sports franchises
135 collective years w/o a title
Last 2 philly horses in the Derby, one died and one has a broken leg!
No wonder they are so angry!
Dread Pirate Roberts VI on October 9, 2006 at 3:22 PM
T.O. is Lenin on the train from Switzerland.
Hey,
HOW ABOUT THEM COWBOYS!!!! Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahaha! What? Yes, I am an Eagles fan. How could you tell?
PeteRR on October 9, 2006 at 7:20 PM
Why are you people still talking?
We ALL know that the Patriots are the TRUE America’s Team, and will win the Superbowl this year.
I have sixteen metric tons of voodoo material to make sure it happens!
