The Natural Truth About A Dirtbag Congressman

Until last Friday no one knew about the overtly sexual “instant messages”. The only thing that was know was the overly friendly “emails”. As a father I steer my children away from overly friendly adults but I have no grounds to have those adults charged, arrested, or thrown out of their jobs because I suspect they are overly friendly! It was not until last Friday that the person or persons that were sitting on the IM’s released them. Only then was there enough information to determine that this guy is a dangerous creep. I get where Michelle and etc. are coming from and they have a point… But since this thing IS being played for maximum political advantage by the DNC and their captive media surrogates, I believe it is the duty of all conservatives to fight back, point out the inconsistencies and manipulations.

Yeah, Anyone trying to cover up for Foley needs to go, Especially if the more lurid IM’s are actually true. (the provenance of those is quite suspect from what I have heard); If Hastert or anyone knew about anything beyond the sort of creepy but innocous e-mails or if they knew of any actual acts of pedophelia, then darn right, kick them out and lock them up.

It does irritate and depress me that preditorial sexual behavior is a resume enhancer among Dems as long as it is a Dem doing it, yet when a Republican does it, the entire conservative population is declared guilty of a heinous crime…. Even though when ‘Our Guys’ get caught with their hands in the cash register or the little boy’s pants, WE kick them out of office and call for their punishment faster and louder than the dems would, were it not for their pressing for political advantage.

At least Foley didn’t wag his finger in our faces and tell us “I did not (want) to have sex with that intern.” and argue about what the meaning of IS is, while all the rest of the GOP says “get over it, after all, it is only all about sex”.

And if a Dem knew about any illegal behavior earlier (and it sort of appears that they did), but waited until they could get maximum political effect out of it, they are just as guilty as any other co-conspirator, and WE can’t allow themn to get away with it. The stakes for the average American are actually higher for this then they were for Adnan Haj’s fauxtography, Can we justify less scrutiny of the minor details if the Dems can use this to unfairly manipulate voters for an imminent election???

Unless something more gets out (and I wouldn’t be surprised if it did) that Foley actually engaged in sexual acts with children or subordinates he is only guilty of being creepy, and maybe, just maybe, sexual harassment. Yes, he needs to be gone from his position of power, but there are plenty of examples of people in congress who HAVE actually DONE worse than what we KNOW that Foley has done.

I don’t think that any of us here are trying to excuse Foley, but we can’t afford to just roll over and let the lefties use this for any extra political advantage above what is based on absolute facts.

We need to continue to look at who knew what, and when did they know, and what did they do with the information.

We have a Republican man in Congress who sent e-mails to teenage boys asking them what they were wearing, and an entire party, the Democrats, whose primary constituency, besides the teachers’ unions, is homosexual men and lesbian women. I hope it won’t come as a surprise to anyone that a big part of male homosexual behavior is interest in young boys. (Take a look at anyone renting Endless Summer next time you are at the video store.)

Oh wait. As icky and immoral as it may have been, there was no crime. The page was at least 16, the age of consent in DC, and it did not appear that he was resisting the advances too strenuously, from what I read.

This is NOT, by any means, meant to excuse Foley’s actions (alleged), but to put it into perspective. Foley is right to resign, Congress would be correct to censure him, Hastert is very justified in demanding a full investigation. But the calls to throw every one of them out of office, to draw and quarter Foley and keel-haul Hastert are just a wee bit over the top.

See the problem I have is that whoever had this information held onto it knowingly for political advantage. Young people were put in jeopardy for political advantage. That’s why this person(s) has to be found out.
For the libs to not demand this person come forward, and condemn this win-at-all-costs mind set condemns them all.

Sure, but what about a parent who sits by and does nothing while the other parent abuses their children? That’s what’s got the left in a frenzy — not the one rogue pervert congressman but the possibility that Hastert and company knew about it and let it happen. Whether they did or didn’t doesn’t absolve Foley of responsibility, but it would say a lot about where their own priorities lie.

So why doesn’t it cut both ways? Conceded: Foley’s a filthy child predator. Who knew and let him go on being one?

Yeah, I think you are right on this one, as much as I would like to agree with Michelle. Nobody is absolving Foley of anything. But if there were others that knew what Foley was doing and did nothing, then they are guilty of enabling him, especially when they are doing it to foment and time a political scandal.

So to summarize:

- Being a predator who sexually preys on minors: Bad, really bad.

- Allowing said predator to continue preying on minors, for any reason: Every bit as bad.

As the old saying goes, the only thing required for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing.

I don’t think anyone is trying to provide cover for the actions of Mark Foley, and comparing how conservatives treat such instances with the history of liberals in like situations is certainly fair, as well as informative.
