Another great job, Bethany!
Carvin Guitar Man on October 2, 2006 at 9:36 AM
If only politicians could be as innovative as bloggers are.
What a way to start the week; thanks Bethany.

Where’s the Titans thing from last time?
E5infantry on October 2, 2006 at 9:47 AM
I’ve gotta say, the Steele ad strikes me as unique. No one talks directly to the (camera) audience like that, and let alone with a sense of humor about the whole process.
The Whitehouse ad invokes a craving for oatmeal, dry white toast and NOT GEORGE BUSH!!! We’ve certainly seen that before.
Bethany on a Monday morning has me thinking of…well, nevermind. Great job!
Pablo on October 2, 2006 at 9:49 AM
Pablo, agreed. Mike Puppy Love is a good changeup.
(As for Bethany, I approve that message.)
Jaibones on October 2, 2006 at 9:51 AM
Again, nothing gets a Monday morning off to a good start like Bethany on my iBook screen and a hot cup of coffee. The rest of the day can suck, but at least it started off good. Great video Bethany! I’ve been waiting to see a political ad where the candidate says “Look, we all know that no one knows what the hell they’re doing in Washington, but they’ll never admit it. Well, frankly, I haven’t a clue what I’m doing. I’m just winging it like everyone else. But at least I’m honest about it. I’m so-and-so, and vote for me because I suck less than that other candidate.” Now THAT’D be an ad I’d LOVE to see. ;-)

Thanks Bethany. Why does Harold Ford have Forrest Gump’s accent in his TV ads?
Valiant on October 2, 2006 at 10:12 AM
I’m World B Free, and I approve any message delivered by Bethany.
But really, the soundbyte media is to blame for politicians’ unwillingness to stray from the course. Nobody wants to be a little different and subject themselves to (possibly deserved) public ridicule. Witness the Lamont Mentos ad, for instance….
World B. Free on October 2, 2006 at 10:13 AM
Hilarious! Great job done by Bethany and crew.
Ian on October 2, 2006 at 10:13 AM
Good vent!
Same old, same old as far as ads go..they really DO think we’re dumb.
labwrs on October 2, 2006 at 10:22 AM
The Lamont Mentos ad was real? I honestly thought that was a web parody.

I actually think the Michael Steele ad is pretty funnny. It’s even funnier that the other side has already started running an ad bashing the “puppy love”.
BeachBaby on October 2, 2006 at 10:27 AM
There was the real ad with Kos and the Kids, and then Allah added the Mentos riff…which was far more entertaining than the original.
Pablo on October 2, 2006 at 10:39 AM
Nice job, realVerse crew. I’ve been doing an “uplifting ad watch” and found a couple good ones, including the Steele puppy one. The links are here.
marykatharine on October 2, 2006 at 10:42 AM
What? Where? What happened? Bethany is running for President? She has my vote!
Priest on October 2, 2006 at 10:56 AM
I’m dinasour and I approve of Bethany.
dinasour on October 2, 2006 at 12:27 PM
After all the bad news that stackes up over the weekend.
It really is nice to come here and see/hear Michelle, Bethany, MKH, etc. reminding us that all is not lost.
Thanks Ladies.
Lawrence on October 2, 2006 at 1:24 PM
Lol. Not sure if it’s Gump though Valiant. You ever see Varsity Blues? He sounds like that stupid Dawson’s Creek kid’s pathetic attempt at a southern accent in that - “I don’t want your life!”
RightWinged on October 2, 2006 at 1:28 PM
Sigh…. Bethanys is cute…
But this certainly does not rise to the level of many of the Vents I see here….
Fluff…. nothing enlightening…
Romeo13 on October 2, 2006 at 2:25 PM
Seeing as how it’s not “Vent with Michelle Malkin,” and is “Press Play with Bethany,” I would hope it wouldn’t be just a carbon copy.
And, to disagree, watching a bunch of ads where I can’t really tell who the candidate is, other than “the guy who’s bringin’ in the REFORM!!!”
I hate media just off how it’s no ridiculously biased, yet claims to be not biased, but everybody’s just shilling the same stuff, over and over. You know the political ads I’m seeing here? They just changed the names of the guys who are running. Same ads from the Democrats and Republicans.
Same ads. Different year.
MacStansbury on October 2, 2006 at 3:20 PM
Deomocrats already know that if you tell the same lies long enough, there are plenty of people willing to believe them. That’s been their game plan for a long, long, time.
The GOP apparently has no real game plan. Other than the fact that they aren’t democrat seditious traitors, they got about nothing else going for them considering everything they have not accomplished in the last 6 years.
NRA4Freedom on October 2, 2006 at 5:09 PM
Now this ad is a bit different.

My personal favorite was a guy running for parish commissioner in Louisiana (you know those 24K a year positions but everyone leaves a multimillioniar)
Well to make a short story long
He changed his name to “Bud” bought one of those tupid white dogs and made a series of signs and commercials
“This Buds for You”
I think he forgot they mostly drink hard liq in Louisiana

Ever since I installed that dreaded QuickTime 7.1.3 I’ve been without realVerse video or any other QT video, because 7.1.3 is pure beta Catch22 hell, though they dunna want the public to know till it unwittingly tries for itself. Beware.
Anyway, it’s good to see & hear Bethany again. Those pol ads are like milquetoast & prune smoothies. I still think Pat Paulson on Laugh In had more character.
