Video: “No Excuses For Terror” Update: Outstanding

posted at 12:22 pm on September 30, 2006 by Allahpundit

I haven’t watched yet, but various e-mailers who have are raving about it and asking us to link. It’s a documentary produced by British journalist David Aaronovitch that aired earlier this week on Britain’s Channel Five. Like our friend KP, Aaronovitch has become alarmed by the willingness of some of his colleagues on the left to apologize for Islamist savagery. They would have you believe, he says, that there are excuses for terrorism.

Which brings us to part one. Parts two, three, and four follow.

Update: It’s excellent. If you can’t watch it all, watch part four at least.

Eh, I’m at work so I can’t watch any videos. I’ll have to wait till I get home. Hope it is worth the wait…

Watched it earlier from the link at LGF.

Well done and very well worth the time spent.

Excellent piece. If only somehow this could be broadcast here, on every major network. It’s a dose of reality the left sorely needs.

The whole presentation was excellent. It’s about 40 minutes or so total but worth it.

Unfortunately we aren’t the ones who need to see this marvelous documentary. Perhaps forwarding a copy to HuffPo, D.U. or DailyKos, might be in order? Is there anyone here that can post there, I’ve been banned for daring to suggest that a baby was a human being. You know those “free speech” liberals!

p.s SilverStar the link that we get when we click on your name, is AWESOME! Really, incredible work! Anyway to forward the link to the White House?!!!!

Assuming that Islam is the religion of peace we are lead to believe.

There is but one god, Allah, and Muhammad was his LAST prophet.

Islam your shirk, Al Qaida, Hezbollah, Hamas, Palestinians, Zionists and Innocents, are showing.

These are the best 35-40 min. anyone in the ‘still free world’ can spend watching.

Like some already expressed, it would be imperative to show this documentary on prime-time, and repeatedly on CNN/BBC, CNN/BBC international, ABC, CBS, PBS, NBC, CBC (Canada) and FOX (though this audience for the most part would just see their frustration finally aired by someone from the Left, which hopefully makes it more plausible to the liberal audience on all channels).

I reflected in awe, hearing statement after statement what had been frustrating me in the last 10 years. Deep in my soul and being I’m also a progressive, not politically but in the true sense of the word. I wish for freedom for all the people of our world.

I see the sympathies and alliance of communist dictators, ultra-socialists, Western revolutionary factions with the Islamo-terrorists as a very dangerous one to the entire free world. They look at the U.S., Britain, Australia, to an extent Canada and the EU, as an “imperialist enemy”. In reality they wish to make anarchy of the entire free world, the entire world really, and subjugate it to dhimmitude and nihilism.

Some takeaways:

“any honest Leftie with a memory”
“condemnation from all who call themselves progressives”
“some demented liberals have said that if they were Palestinians they’d do the same”
“Lefties are racists”
“the Left should have a moral benchmark – no bombing of civilians and children”
“the Left supports a cult of death; what God secures own salvation by killing others?”
“1994-1996 had more anti-Israeli terrorism during all the peace-negotiations”
“once the Left made excuses for the Palestinian terrorism, they weren’t far behind excusing other acts of terrorism”
“there are no excuses for terror”
“it was in some way our fault, or Tony Blair’s” + “”the idea that this is our fault is degenerate”
“suicide bombing long precedes Afghanistan and Iraq”
“vainglorious recordings of 7/7 bombers ‘I and others have forsaken everything'”
“one time God Allah 7/7 video – selective empathy for Muslims or religious fanatics”
“enemy doesn’t have rationale – is self appointed murder squad that the Left goes along with”
“the world is degenerate from the Left”
“if you don’t agree with us then we have the right to kill you”
“sewage of the fringes, from the Left and Right, have contaminated the main street”
“we have to side with the objectively progressive forces”
“taking orders from pay masters in Tehran and Damascus”
“it ought to be baffling but it isn’t – not in bed with the oppressed or the democratic forces”
“stop being cultural imperialists”
“Michael Moore is an idiot” (they didn’t say a fat idiot, like Herr Olbermann)
“the whole world has gone badly wrong”
“the day we find that in any way acceptable or understandable, is the beginning of the end of humanity

Proof that a competent Left still exists. Outstanding. Failure to watch the whole thing is a crime.

I hope these same people who are “apologizing for Islamist savagery” are also the first to defend Hitler, the Columbine Killers, Richard Ramirez, Charles Manson, and every other psychotic killer that has ever walked the earth.

After all, everybody has their own perspective.

Who are we to say they’re wrong?

“the day we find that in any way acceptable or understandable, is the beginning of the end of humanity“

That line has been crossed.

That might be why I destest Western sympathizers more than Islamists. The Arab gentleman who stood for democracy and against Saddam is undermined by the self-proclaimed friends of the “brown people” who only seek anti-Western agitation.

David Aaronovitch has a blog. [Link]

His program “No Excuses” was partly in response to another progam “The Real Friends of Terror” by Ted Honderich.

From the show:

“What is the difference between the horror and the violence created by suicide bombers and the horror and the violence created by bombs dropped from 30,000 feet by airplanes?”

Watch both and you’ll see that Aaronovitch was not responding just to the “We Are All Hezbollah” protest signs. As you might have suspected. He answered the case made for the “moral right” to attack civilians by blowing yourself up on buses and in subway stations.

Many many thanks. I’m passing the word along. SilverStar830, I’m also snagging the link “Dhimmis for Dummies” on your site as a must-read for beginners (of all levels of intelligence ;-).

The bumper stickers and t shirts sold through Cafe Press that say I Will Not Submit are a must have. Put one on my car today and I must say it classed the car up.

This is very encouraging, but from my experience with European leftists I can’t say whether this is a hopeful trend or a few lonely voices crying in the wind. The European Left is overwhelmingly pro-terror (or, rather, so rabidly anti-American that they’ll glady embrace Islamofascism as long as it points its fangs at the US), and the Europress is basically The Nation magazine write large, so it’s remarkable when something like this film comes out. But it will be very much ignored on the Continent and I fear only a tiny minority will be reached. Yet, its a start.
