In support of Entelechy’s suggestion, I’ll mention one reason people will often attack a troll instead of commenting intelligently on the topic of a blog post: It’s easier. It’s well within their intellectual capacity, and the easy victory feels good.

What I find interesting about all this ‘insulting Islam’ nonsense is that nobody has any problem at all with insulting Christianity. It is not ‘ok’ to insult Islam, Buddhism, or even that bombastic financial swindle known as Scientology, but Christianity is fair game. Wiccan is to be treated with respect, Native American religions and rituals are sancrosant, but desecrating and defaming Christian imagery and churches is just fine and dandy.

Also, religious ‘competition’ is nothing new. Pointing out what is ‘wrong’ with another religion is, in fact, the ‘business’ of a religious leader. If people in the other religion don’t agree, that is their right. All these people screaming that the Pope should apologize are basically telling him that he is not allowed to be the Pope, that he is not allowed to speak what he believes is the truth.

I, myself, am not Catholic (in fact, I usually consider Catholocism and Christianity to be separate, something that starts many arguments), and I have no problem arguing with people from other religions. I believe it is their right to argue with me as well. But, if what I believe tells me that what they teach is not true, I am going to say so. If they don’t like it, it is still my perogative to speak what I think is true, and their right to disagree.

Christ did not come to the world to force it to believe in Him, but to entreaty it. Mohammed appears to have done the opposite.

I have an advantage. Not being a christian I do not turn the other cheek. And I will never see my county become a Dhimmacracy.

What about the consequences to those of us who call ourselves believers in Christ if we continually apologize for muslim’s behavior, or talk about religious ‘tolerance’ (read acceptance)? Or if we tell ourselves ‘they’re really not that bad?’

A few years ago, some Islamo-Nazis took over the Church were Jesus was born, did they not? I think they trashed it a bit, did they not? There were no MUSLIM applogies for that, were there? Was there a Muslim appology for MURDERING that Italian nun while she was praying?

Are there any apologies now for the Islamic classification of Christians, Jews, and whomever else as second class and who have to pay a tax…OR ELSE? No repairing old churches or building of new ones. Islamic controlled speech and thought.

I admit this growing Muslim threat scares me as a woman, mother and citizen. But the larger question, which these Islofacists understand, is whether we are too soft and comfy and scared in this country, or at the Vatican, to stand up and say what needs to be said and then follow it up with action, paying whatever price is necessary in the process.

It’s coming, folks, and so we had better start getting ready
And appeasement will never, ever get the job done. It will only embolden this mass of children throwing their global temper tantrums until the world gives up in fear and lets them have their collective way. Then civilization as we know it will be over.

I pray we will start summoning the courage now to face what’s ahead. Cause it’s not going away.
