Don’t worry, I know it’s a lonely feeling being one of the few WMD believers, but I’m with ya, and I know there are plenty of others. There is so much evidence that they were there and that they were moved to/through Syria it’s ridiculous, and the lack of reporting on it tells you all you need to know about the media, although the Prez and elected Republicans aren’t helping much either just conceding an “intelligence failure”. Maybe it’s all been a big set up to save and pull out the smoking gun next month, or maybe in Oct. 2008, I don’t know, but they were there.

By the way, how annoying was it that the 500 old chemical weapons found barely made the news for a day, and it certainly wasn’t the top story on most newspapers (if any). I will concede that they weren’t the stockpiles left from an ongoing program, but hold on a sec. Wasn’t Saddam supposed to “disclose, disarm, (something else that I think started with a D)”. He didn’t disclose these 500, and logic tells you he’d try harder to hide the “good stuff” much better than he would some expired crap, right? Why not disclose that stuff and say “Hey, we’re going to be totally up front, we’ve got this old crap. It can’t do much now, but we want to be honest and disclose this so you know we’re being straight with you”.

That is all just my train of thought, but there is plenty of other evidence to suggest they were there, not the least of which were satellite photos of trucks moving to Syria in days before the war, the comments of Gen. Sada and others, and recovered documents that showed that Saddam was hiding Turkish and Russian scientists from UN inspectors right up until the war. Etc. etc. More than anything the lack of any follow-up on this has really irritated me.

Beyond that, what ever happened to those millions of documents and thousands of hours of tape recovered in Iraq? Why did we get a few hundred pages (if that, I can’t remember the exact amount) and then nothing since? Weren’t they going to begin releasing it in bundles every few weeks or months? Anyone have any updates or knowledge about this?

Also, the beat in the background, the notes/music, are especially effective.

Any fool could see just a few months after 9/11 as liberals quickly began playing partisan games by not allowing many Bush’s judicial nominations to come to vote. That hatred for Bush quickly grew until we arrive at today….

I wonder how far they’ll go to find the source of the leak. Michelle Malkin has done some excellent prelim work on that already. Or, maybe they should also start asking Laura Rozen at The American Propsect who her “contact” is? She seems to have some source of insight that the rest of the citizens of the United States don’t have.

This whole fiasco is yet more proof that the liberal Democrat’s (formerly; The Lunatic Fringe) “Us vs Them: Win At All Costs” mentality is a cancer destroying America from within. They and their ilk are akin to La MEChA, who’s slogan and mentality is: “For the race, everything; for those outside the race, nothing.”

Well yes, but there were a finite amount of Japanese and Germans, all of whom we considered the enemy from the get go. The point the report makes is that Iraq is converting more and more into jihadists, a different dynamic altogether.

There seems to be a need to force-fit a comparison to past wars with Iraq. If I hear one more reference to Hitler I will scream. Watched Triumph of the Will over the weekend. Should be required viewing before making these sweeping comparisons.

In my opinion we will become accustomed to the United States Government being betrayed by the liberal press – espeically the New York Times. The liberal MSM is actively engaged in espionage under the guise of “freedom of the press” for profit and partisan political advantage. This condition is not going to change, and will continue to get worse, until severe disaster forces the government to act and define the limits of free press and enforce laws prohibiting espionage.

As far as the United States going to war with Iran before the next presidential election – I would have to say that is a very strong probability. Iran with nucelar weapons is where their delay is going, everyone knows it, and fortunately for us Bush is strong enough to protect our interests. The Chamberlain Left, of course, will continue to sacrifice the national interest for their own political advantage and profit – even when faced with such a severe threat.

But less obvious is what point, if any, the leaked portions of the NIE were getting at. OK, so perhaps the terrorists are whipped up by our presence in Iraq. And?? In a related sense, this points to a serious problem for today’s left: they’ve become so mentally lazy that they’re largely incapable of any kind of in-depth analysis of how the world works.

That laziness, in turn, leads them to one of their critical failures in reasoning: Arrogant Ethnocentrism. The liberal world view is that there’s no problem in the world that can’t be solved, no enemy who can’t be mollified, by the simple expedient of America changing its behavior. In short, by appeasing our enemies, and by currying favor with those who would be slaves, we can become “popular” – and evidently, obsequious popularity is their benchmark of “success” when it comes to foreign policy and foreign relations.

The notion that islamists who hate us feel that way not for what we do or say but for their own reasons – and can thus form and act upon their own agendas regardless of our actions – completely escapses the liberals’ grasp. It’s just like the old joke of a liberal watching somebody being viciously mugged, then running up to the victim when it’s over and exclaiming, “Wow, you must’ve really said something to upset him for him to beat you up like that!”

Michelle got the “Bingo!” award when she observed in her Vent that while one may not be entirely satisfied with the way the Republicans are running things, to let the donks take over would open us up to a far, far worse alternative.

3 days before Pearl Harbor, the FDR-hating Chicago Tribune printed the leaked war plan for Europe in an above-the-fold, page 1 story. So this business of an opposition paper trying to sabotage a President has gone on for a long time.

And it needs to stop. Especially as this sabotaging for the last two decades seems to ONLY goes one way — against Republicans. Remember, it what Newsweek that sat on Monicagate for 5 weeks trying to spike the story, until Drudge broke it.

For those who are unaware, the passing of the last convicted American traitor, “Tokyo Rose,” was reported over night. “Tokyo Rose” (Iva Ikuko Toguri) served 6 years of a 10 year sentence (sentence reduced for good behavior) after WWII. She was pardoned by President Ford in 1976 as he left office. The reasons for her being pardoned were that the judge at her trial was prejudiced, preventing a fair trial, and that there were a number of “Roses” doing the broadcasting; the proof that she was the specific one was questionable.

The CIA obviously needs to clean house, as the agenda of polictics precedes the interest of our country. And since they appear unable to tend to the matter themselves, the President and/or Congress should intervene.

It is always disappointing, but no longer surprising, to see elected Democratic officials and partisans play politics with the war in Iraq.
Consider their patriotism questioned…in my opinion they have little if any.

However, the leaker could be a clerical worker, an administration mole, a spy, web data thief etc.

That’s certainly not what you say in that first quote, is it. We have to completely lose and all the blood, etc, before we can take stock?

That’s a suicidal advocation. I know you’re feeling passionate, and I appreciate that passion. I also believe that your heart’s pretty much in the right place. But I strongly disagree with what you’re saying above.

Genocide on our part is NOT going to solve this problem. Like it or not, the wisest course of action is to do our best to free the Muslim people, remove the bondage of the brainwashing they’ve been coersed with from birth, in a lot of cases, and giving them an actual choice. This is a multi-generational task. There are no microwave quick instant solutions. Stop expecting one.

We need to kill all the jihadis we possibly can, agressively, and free the Muslim world to the extent we can. Muslims are really the only ones who can actually solve their jihadi problem, but they definitely need our help.

We have to try this first, and really get behind it, and prepare ourselves for a protracted and difficult struggle. Just like W told us from the very beginning.
