RNC fact-checks Clinton’s “Fox News Sunday” interview; Update: Was Clinton’s speech slurred?

Here you go. Lots of boldface and underlining and boldfaced underlining. I wouldn’t normally link them but Billy Jeff asked for it. Go forth, and let the record be corrected.
I said yesterday I’d be curious to know what Michael Scheuer thought of Clinton’s interview. CBS was curious too so they had him on the “Early Show” this morning, much to fair and impartial newsman Harry Smith’s chagrin. Newsbusters has video. There’s actually nothing much new there; Scheuer’s been ripping Clinton for his ham-fisted attempts to kill Bin Laden for years. Listen to the audio of his interview about it with Fox News on 9/11.
The RNC inexplicably neglected to mention that Bin Laden’s role in the 1998 embassy bombings was included in the grand jury indictment against him obtained by Clinton’s own DOJ. I guess they forgot. But Richard Miniter didn’t.
Update: It’s Johnny Dollar day at Hot Air. He’s got the clip of Chris Wallace on Fox this morning talking about how Clinton threw a tantrum after the interview ended and threatened to fire his staff if they ever put him in this position again.
Update: One more J$ link for the road. Charles says he thought he noticed Clinton slurring his words during the interview. Matt Drudge noticed the same thing and played a clip during his radio show last night of the slurriest part. Listen here. Was Billy Jeff simply tongue-tied with rage? Or did Wallace catch him after a particularly enjoyable lunch?

I noticed the same thing yesterday, and I couldn’t tell if he was impaired or if he was so angry he had a case of dry mouth. Who knows, Bill blew a gasket and it sure was fun to watch.

Why do they call them “myths?” Why not call them what they really are? “LIES!”

I heard an extra shot of the Clinton interview on Medved just now, and it was totally incredible. Wallace asked if he could ask about Clinton’s global thing, and Clinton groused, “You *can,*” and Wallace said, “I always intended to, sir.” After which Clinton came unglued and accused Wallace of “moving his bones” (?? is that what you do with them *after* you’ve made them?) by asking this one set of questions before going on to the next set (presumably the only set Wallace has a right to ask), bitching and moaning because it’s only Fox who asks him more than one “set” of questions.
Well, gee, let me see, why could that be? Bias? You bet. Just not from whom Clinton thinks.

I noticed the slurring too. I thought he was stroking out. He had heart problems before, he gets super angry, he dies of a stroke on Fox News Sunday. It all made sense to me. Later though he gets the slurring under control, so I guess it wasn’t a stroke.

Some You Tube clips had fuzzier audio, including some sound tracks not coordinated with lip movement.
Like blogs, You Tube can be used to plant clips to confuse the issue. Poli-Trolls already run pre-emptive strikes on blogs to manipulate the public argument.
The media is the message after all. Faux times faux equals faux.
In clips where Wallace sounded most accurate, Clinton still had mush nouth. This can be loose dentures, a cough drop in the mouth, drink, drugs or stroke. It could also be editing although people who watched the interview would notice fakery (unless it was done at FOX).
I doubt a pro like Clinton would keep a cough drop in his mouth when there are medicines or the tiny lozenges used by public speakers.
Clinton is rich. He can buy a dentist for lunch so I doubt denture problems. This was pretaped, so the studio would have allowed him to fix any problems.
On the other hand Clinton loves to control the camera. He could have put a cough drop in his mouth on purpose, to increase the buzz and draw attention to himself. The DEMs need some cover right now and a minor scandal that can be used to make him look like a victim and diminish his critics is all for the good.
Or he could have had a stroke or a stoke. Time will tell on that possibility.
This faux world is getting too complicated faux me.

The last time he got this mad, he directed his anger at the Branch Dividians.

Hate to be an ass, but I believe I was the first to point this out in the thread yesterday:
Anyway, it was very obvious something was up. I couldn’t buy the tongue tied over being so worked up for that type of slur, however it may not be drugs or alcohol. Giving the benefit of the doubt, I could see the possibility of “over tiredness” being an excuse. However the fact that he seems like a man possessed in addition to the slur leads me to believe he was on something. I would never make a claim that he definitely was without evidence, but it sure seemed like it to me.

I hate to be a bigger ass but:
I think Bill may have been on some “medication” or just had a few when he went in for the interview. His speech seemed to be a bit garbled or he a case of dry mouth. Maybe just angry that Chris Wallace was just sitting there with his “smirk” in utter wonder and enjoyment. Can you believe his reasoning, “the CIA wouldn’t certify, and couldn’t get basing”?

I’m no Clinton expert and couldn’t care less about slurred speech (I have problems of my own), but I must say, my first reaction was that the Dems are seeing their wondrous “Take back America!” election cycle dissolve before their very eyes, and this seemed to be proof.
Bring out the Big Guy to save the day by attacking … Chris Wallace? My gut response has been echoed — if I may be so bold — by the Great One, Rush Limbaugh, on today’s show.
Michelle’s general view of the Dems as “unhinged” is going to apply to 30% of voting America by election day…

A lot of people are postulating that Clinton planned on acting as apoplectic as he did to impress the left. Threatening his staff for the position he was put in doesn’t seem like the thing to do if everything went according to plan.

Bill forget to put his plate in. Check the sides of the top front teeth.

ah, looks like I was runner up, d1carter wins

We were on the same track…how often do we get to see WJC get that unhinged in public.
d1carter on September 25, 2006 at 9:04 PM
I think baldi’s onto it. When I listened to the interview, I noticed the slurring, and it sounded to me like someone with dental issues. My husband sounds like that when his plate is out.

I figured it was new dentures, or else he hisses when he’s angry, kind of like a cornered reptile.
