Uhhhmmm. I believe that this happened. Sorry. I do. I ALSO don’t believe that Allen feels this way today. Unfortunately the world is full of people whose past makes them unacceptable for the Presidency.

You have to admit, though, that Webb has done a brilliant job of keeping Allen on the defensive. So far he’s spent the whole campaign explaining why he’s not a racist instead of explaining why he’s better than Webb.

Dems can’t focus on the issues because they get killed everytime – instead they focus all their energy on personal attacks. I bet you we can dig up some good dirt on every single person holding office (or currently running for office) from back when they were in college (or soon after).

The confederate flag thing is stupid, too. Not everyone who flies one (especially 30 years ago! It was still on state flags then!) is a racist. The notion just plain pisses me off.

As far as him using the “n” bomb, that also sounds like crap. It’s maddening that these smear merchants get away with it to the point that people on OUR side say “I don’t know” because of all the poo they fling. Don’t lose sight of that point that none of this has been raised before–it’s not like he couldn’t have been taken out with that before IF IT WERE TRUE.

And look at Jim Webb: it’s not like his past “indiscretions” (LOL) have been denied–he not only admits his vile anti-female beliefs, he excuses them to this day. Not once has he ever said he’s a different man these days.

The Webb people know this, and the only “defense” they have is to make up stuff about Allen in hopes that he’ll be considered more despicable than Webb is. FAT CHANCE.

Quite terrible accusations are being made against Senator Allen. He is going to have an uncomfortable job defending himself against these claims. I passed it on to Allah Pundit who has responded with a wow! I’ll just have to wait to hear him …
