It’s well intentioned and well executed, but this ol’ pessimist heart finds it hard to believe it’ll change many minds given the state of the Kingdom. As Martin Amis said last month in response to a question about the most depressing thing he’s observed since returning to Britain: The most depressing thing was the sight of middle-class white demonstrators, last August, waddling around under placards saying, We Are All Hizbollah Now. Well, make the most of being Hizbollah while you can. As its leader, Hasan Nasrallah, famously advised the West: “We don’t want anything from you. We just want to eliminate you.” Similarly, when I went on Question Time the other week, a woman in the audience, her voice quavering with self-righteousness, presented the following argument: since it was America that supported Osama bin Laden when he was fighting the Russians, the US armed forces, in response to September 11, “should be dropping bombs on themselves!” And the audience applauded. It is quite an achievement. People of liberal sympathies, stupefied by relativism, have become the apologists for a creedal wave that is racist, misogynist, homophobic, imperialist, and genocidal. To put it another way, they are up the arse of those that want them dead. [...]

so when is hotair going to give me my free cam corder? HMMMMMMM? :-) I mean, I live near the University of Arkincest (I can say that cuz I’m from here originally), and I can tell you first hand the libs here are violently fanatical. It’s almost hillarious to watch.

Vent is amazing. Clips and Documents. The editing has great timing. It’s a ton of work. Just try to edit some family video. The length of a segment determines how it talks to you. It is an art form.

That’s why I sometimes wonder, are these moderators retired rich people? I compose an email with attachments for my brother and lose half a day.

Or maybe I am having blackouts and its time to up the meds.

When we got cable there was more community access. I got the idea to create a soap opera. I talked about it with a few friends.

Just some fun. Create some characters. Use local jokes and attitudes. They sunk my ship fast. Each friend turned into Cecille B. DeMille. I was trapped in Sunset Boulevard. They were arguing about residuals.

…but they’re looking at a herculean effort here.
Lots of luck to them, though, especially with their anti-BBC agenda. It’s high time for an alternative.

This, along with the ‘Bryan’s efforts’ data calls for renewed appreciation for this vent. We grew to almost take for granted the fact that vents and posts keep appearing, on an almost continuous basis.

It seems that HOTAiR has always been there; a way of saying SMOOTH! And THANK YOU ALL!

To put that in perspective for you, Bryan has upwards of ten years’ experience in TV and radio production and it takes him a full day to write, shoot, and edit a three-minute Vent.

Interesting tidbit of information there; it really does put things in perspective. More power to ya, Bryan, and thanks for your hard work … especially when you have to also play guitar for the Vent ;)

I saw this earlier today via the NRO Corner. Four hours a night does sound pretty ambitious, but maybe they’ve got it all worked out. Hope they do well. I was really impressed when I saw they landed PM John Howard. Great choice! He’s a great friend of America, unlike “the Beeb”.
