Video: Daniel Ellsberg urges leaking of Iran war plans on Colbert

posted at 12:59 am on September 22, 2006 by Allahpundit

Colby’s been a leader of the Resistance since he bombed at the White House correspondents dinner, so while the venue might seem inappropriate, it isn’t. Jeopardizing national security has always been heroic if it undermines the Bushitler, but tonight it actually became hip. Good stuff.

The video speaks for itself. As usual, the applause is the creepiest part.

The path the left has been on for a long time is frightening. One day, some of them will wake up and realize My God, What Have I Done?

Why doesn’t Ellsberg just take out an ad that says, “Traitor wanted.”

Ellsberg Calls on Insiders to Leak Critiques Of Possible War on Iran

NEW YORK CLARIFICATION: The original title of this article suggested that Ellsberg might have been calling for actual war plans to be released. Nothing in the body of the story supported this, so we have changed the headline. Ellsberg in his Harper’s story refers to leaking internal dissent, critiques, and “secret estimates of costs and prospects and dangers of the military plans being considered.”

It’s okay… he doesn’t want anyone to be a traitor, he just wants the scoop from disgruntled employees. Uh, wait, he wants “secrets”, with documents to back it up, damn, okay, disgruntled employee traitors it is then.

Ellsberg should have gone to prison for violating the espionage act. If he had, the New York Times and Washington Post would not have compromised three LEGAL and highly successful anti-terrorism programs in this war.

As Ellsberg is OPENLY calling for people to violate the law today, Ellsberg should be charged with conspiracy to commit treason. There is NO FREE SPEECH exemption for openly advocating giving aid and comfort to the enemy.

And asking for people to divulge our war plans — with the express intend of derailing them — is asking people to commit treason.

We don’t do treason any more in the United States. Nor do we declare war. The Constitution is still there if any men ever decide to go to Washington.

“Moral” ninnies like this create wars by holding the high ground until the bullets fly. Then young Americans go in and fight and die.

George Washington would have hung this turd in a heart beat.

Is their anything preventing a group of US citizens from pressing formal charges in a court of law againt those creeps?

Wait, is this one of Greenwald’s sock puppets?

Very creepy. The fact he looks so calm, collected and otherwise normal when he says it makes it even creepier.

Man, it doesn’t take much to get on tv these days. Too bad Tookie is dead; Colbert could have him (and not just some chickenhawk like Randi Rhodes who only talks about murder, but a real live murderer) talk about how much it fun it would be to massacre the entire Bush administration. Then Tookie could write a few political books about it..then maybe get his own show.

He deems it an honor to be accused of losing the Viet Nam war , and he is soliciting traitors within our government to leak classified information .What a TRAITOROUS WEASEL.

PAPA BEAR on September 22, 2006 at 11:37 AM

He clearly is a traitor and should be shot at dawn.

What does Mr. Ellsberg have to say about Iranian dissidents (16 year old girls are hanged from construction cranes for sassing the ayatollahs) leaking Mahmoud and the Mad Mullahs’ war plans?

Such moral imbecility is risibly precious.

Although we will have to do the dying if purblind pinheads like Dan E. get their 5th Column way.

This clip calls for a kazoo band rendition, faintly and distantly in the backround, of “Suicide Is Painless“.

And we all know the tune’s flip-Side: “Sedition is numbskulled“.
