Video: Clinton flips out over Osama hunt on “Fox News Sunday”

He did try. Cruise missiles count as “trying.”

He just didn’t try hard enough.

Watch those eyes bulge. There’s a Legacy at stake here, and no one, least of all Chris Wallace, is going to jeopardize that.

Can’t wait for the full interview. Check your local listings.

Update: Ace is thinking about the video of Bin Laden taken by that drone in 2000.

Too bad Clinton wasn’t in any legal jeopardy when this footage was taken (the Fall of 2000). Had he been in legal trouble, who knows, he might have actually have given the code to fire on bin Ladin and saved 3000 people.

I guess the real lesson of the nineties is that we didn’t impeach Clinton frequently enough.

Update: Johnny Dollar has video of Wallace discussing the interview on Fox this morning.

You guys are fast, I was just coming to email you about the clip. Fired up! This is going to be interesting…

mdconservative on September 22, 2006 at 6:38 PM

I love it when he starts wagging and pointing that finger. That look on his face is priceless!

Catie96706 on September 22, 2006 at 6:40 PM

Yes, President Clinton tried. Unfortunately, Bin Laden was not hiding in a pharmaceudical plant or the Chinese embassy, or under the desk in the oval office.

DAT60A3 on September 22, 2006 at 6:41 PM

When he flames out can we time it so he takes Carter down with him?

bbz123 on September 22, 2006 at 6:41 PM

Hmm, 8 months vs. 8 YEARS!!!!!!!

Kinda like comparing cigarettes to cigars.

I’m glad the country was able to hang on (even if by a thread) after 8 years of this PC pansy in power.

NTWR on September 22, 2006 at 6:42 PM

Shoot, hit send to quickly. I love this “they had 8 months” stuff. Also, keep in mind that there is no way for him to know how much effort there was behind the scenes (classified). (Yes, I know 9/11 comm.)

Bush — had 8 entire months.
Clinton — had 96!

The planning for the attacks took years, so most everything was for the most part put together, planned, and tied in to a nice little terrorist bow during his 96 months.

mdconservative on September 22, 2006 at 6:43 PM

Nice teaser from FOX.

Clinton is just a bit whipped up over this. Personally, I think it’s all a bunch of wasted energy, because everybody can be a Monday morning quarterback. I would imagine that there are thousands of “woulda/coulda/shoulda” moments in the executive office.

That being said, I can’t say I’m displeased with seeing him squirm…

Dr. Gecko on September 22, 2006 at 6:55 PM

Hillary must have been ragging on him again.

Essex on September 22, 2006 at 7:04 PM

Last time I saw him behave this way was he lied about Monica, “That woman”. Everytime this man doesn’t get his way he behaves like this a short tempered, nasty little 2-year old throwing fits! And some want him back in the White House with the Mrs.? OMG!!!!

sharinlite on September 22, 2006 at 7:07 PM

Hey, I remember that finger. It’s the same one that went with the words, “I did not have sexual relations with that woman…”

I’m surprised he got angry instead of pulling one of his patented “single tear down the cheek” sob-jobs that got him off (pardon the pun) being impeached from the Lewinski scandal.

Can’t wait to see the rest of the interview.

Lone Star on September 22, 2006 at 7:08 PM

If only Osama had worn a thong, Billy Boy would’ve been on his jihadi butt in a New York minute.

(BTW- I hear ex-Prez Bubba is going to be the new spokesman for BJ’s Wholesale club.)

profitsbeard on September 22, 2006 at 7:31 PM

I’m tell’n ya Allah, you need to loop that video of Clinton where he says “Now, I have no intelligence” I could watch that over and over. Priceless

Drtuddle on September 22, 2006 at 7:33 PM

Yes, President Clinton — You Failed.

Marvin on September 22, 2006 at 7:46 PM

Sociopathy served up with a side of bitter and false rhetoric.

Behavior unbecoming.

doingwhatican on September 22, 2006 at 8:11 PM

And who exactly are these “rightwingers” who said he was focusing too much on bin laden?

Sorry Clinton, you misunderstood. We thought your were too focused on who you’ve “been lay -n-” not too foucused on “bin laden”

lan astaslem on September 22, 2006 at 8:13 PM

Me thinks the President doth protest too much.

EFG on September 22, 2006 at 8:13 PM

Clinton kept a good eye on who was between his legs and turned a blind eye while the Islamofacists plotted and planned.

doingwhatican on September 22, 2006 at 8:22 PM

“I! Did not lose tabs! On that man! Mr. Bin Laden!”

Jim Treacher on September 22, 2006 at 8:28 PM

Loved the “like SOME”.

Should be fun to watch the whole thing if the teaser is any indication.

There’s a difference between righteous anger and just gettin the vapors. He’s not aging very gracefully.

His hair is fabulous though.

daveintexas on September 22, 2006 at 8:33 PM

If Clinton was a Republican the headlines would be 6 inches tall saying “I FAILED” instead I’m sure we’ll get another round of stories parroting Clinton’s claim that Bush did nothing.

RW_theoriginal on September 22, 2006 at 8:51 PM

This is just Bubbah’s way of telling America, “You better put some ice on that.”

Terp Mole on September 22, 2006 at 8:58 PM

My question is why did he do this interview? maybe it’ll make him look “better” but why attack this when he knows he’s going to look awful??
I just don’t get it but I’ll be watching Wallace as usual..

madmonaco on September 22, 2006 at 8:59 PM

His legacy is that he held the White House during the blissful period of ignorance between the Cold War and the the War on Terror.

He was somewhat responsible for the new Republican majority, though, and that has some chance of lasting.

frankj on September 22, 2006 at 9:03 PM

further proof you can’t trust fox. he was talking about phony reports of a blue dress and an intern and fox put words in his mouth to make it sound like he tried to stop but failed. she was too strong. just look at those eyes–you know he’s lying about some girl and a dress………

patrick neid on September 22, 2006 at 9:04 PM

here’s the video fox won’t show you of clinton talking about bin laden. judge for yourself!

Oh crap that’s it.

They’re ALL bonkers now.

venmax on September 22, 2006 at 9:32 PM

If Clinton was more creative with defense and less creative with cigar centered sex, 9/11 might have been avoided.

Hening on September 22, 2006 at 9:37 PM

Hmmmmmm…..now where have I seen that kind of finger-pointing anger before?

Fool me once, Mr. President.

The Ugly American on September 22, 2006 at 9:39 PM

I love it when he starts wagging and pointing that finger. That look on his face is priceless!

Catie96706 on September 22, 2006 at 6:40 PM

You know you’ve nailed Bubba when he goes to the Lewinsky Face.

Kid from Brooklyn on September 22, 2006 at 9:45 PM

Now I know where Pelosi got that crazed look from!

Webloggin on September 22, 2006 at 10:22 PM

Can’t be quoted enough times:

“Mr. bin Laden used to live in Sudan,” Clinton told the Long Island Association on Feb. 15, 2002.

“He was expelled from Saudi Arabia in 1991, then he went to Sudan. And we’d been hearing that the Sudanese wanted America to start dealing with them again.

“They released him. At the time, 1996, he had committed no crime against America so I did not bring him here because we had no basis on which to hold him, though we knew he wanted to commit crimes against America.

“So I pleaded with the Saudis to take him, ’cause they could have. But they thought it was a hot potato and they didn’t and that’s how he wound up in Afghanistan.”

PROPOSED BUMPER STICKER: If Osama had been a woman, Clinton would have gotten her.

Dr. Charles G. Waugh on September 22, 2006 at 10:25 PM

PROPOSED BUMPER STICKER: If Osama had been a woman, Clinton would have gotten her.

I’m thinking something along the lines of ‘I shot the intern, but I did not shoot the terrorist’.

RightWinged on September 22, 2006 at 10:43 PM

I’m very, very proud to be one of those right wingers right now. One of Willie’s finer moments!!

JD on September 22, 2006 at 10:47 PM

This is the first sign of a complete Democratic crack-up, when the Apostle flies off the handle.

Incidentally (just to help the Dems along), Saint Chaves called for Bush’s resignation. You know who would be in charge if he took the advice, right? Dick Cheney.

The Ugly American on September 22, 2006 at 11:31 PM

All praise to AllahPundit for that priceless freeze-frame. Sweet, AP…

Jaibones on September 22, 2006 at 11:43 PM

Woah! I’ve never seen der slickmeister quite that angry in public.

If I were Chris Wallace, I’d stay way away from of Ft. Marcy Park, Washington D.C. apartments, Arkansas motel rooms and government airplanes.

LegendHasIt on September 22, 2006 at 11:53 PM

And yes, I was absolutely serious if somewhat sarcastic above…..

If I were Wallace I’d be very afraid right now.

LegendHasIt on September 23, 2006 at 12:02 AM

He calls what he did a TRY?

nah. Bill, ya need to put the woman down and try better, especially when your the PRESIDENT!!!

and also Bill, uh, why even mention it now? hmm, maybe “election strategy ” gone crazy? (not I didnt say girls gone crazy, he already has those tapes)

Dude, the USS COLE attack went unanswered in my book.

Maybe some other truths were in the “Leading to 911″ movie, eh Bill?

johnnyU on September 23, 2006 at 12:17 AM

Hey UGLY…… LOL!!! yes..that would be good.
lets make ‘em

johnnyU on September 23, 2006 at 12:18 AM

I dunno, I say we just go ahead and make Hillary President. I mean c’mon the mans eyes are buldging out and everything.
He wants her to have it….

pffft. You watch, it’ll be the worst friggin loss numbers you’ve ever seen. It will make Mike Ducacus look good for gawd sakes.

johnnyU on September 23, 2006 at 12:20 AM

I’ve seen him like that before, in a one on one interview with Peter Jennings back in 2004, Jennings brought something up that he didn’t like, and Clinton went all ‘Jerry springer Show’ on him.
“You have no right to ask that, Peter, especially on this network!” I guess it was an ABC reporter who had broken the story on Lewinsky, and Clinton was still mad years later.
“When it came to my job, I never lied to the American people!”
He was still lying when he said that. His legasy is non-existant. And what really galls him must be that Bush will be remembered as a better President.

Doug on September 23, 2006 at 1:09 AM

If I were Wallace I’d be very afraid right now.

Agreed. (not for those without tinfoil hat firmly in place)

RightWinged on September 23, 2006 at 1:31 AM

why even mention it now? hmm, maybe “election strategy ” gone crazy? johnnyU

Yeah, johnnyU has a point. Bill has used the angry Bill routine before. He doesn’t do interviews without political purpose. This interview comes at the same time as the Pelosi/Rangel diversionary attack on Chavez.

DEMons are losing some poll numbers because of renewed al Quaeda terror threats combined with Iranian threat to incinerate the world and Chavez acting as if it is a given. Bush got his 911 aura back.

So Clinton brought out angry-Bill out of the box, like Chucky the evil doll, it has a mesmerizing quality because it is a bit creepy. He doesn’t use it as often as he uses one-teardrop-BIll, the lip biter.

The finger pointing was guaranteed to be in the promo clip. Who wouldn’t want to see the whole thing?

Now, will it stop the poll-slide? That is the question. The MSM has a deadline. Can it fill the airwaves with the finger or will Chavez find out a way to stretch his 15 minutes.

Ahmadinejad could take Clinton out right now, just by raising the ante.

It has to be something worse than incinerating the world.

He could call Rosie O’Donnell a fat pig. That would send the View into orbit.

entagor on September 23, 2006 at 2:09 AM

Wow, R-W. I’m admittedly a borderline tin-hatter myself when it comes to this particular subject… I find too many ‘coincidences’ to just blow it off.).

I’ve seen several clinton ‘dead lists’ and most of them seem to be stretching things a bit on some of the people that they list.

The one about Britt Hume’s son…. I never heard of that one before…. Weird.

I consider myself pretty brave (or just stupid) when under fire, but that little clip AP provided above gave me shivers.

LegendHasIt on September 23, 2006 at 2:18 AM

You can’t fail if you don’t even try.

Halley on September 23, 2006 at 3:19 AM

I guess the real lesson of the nineties is that we didn’t impeach Clinton frequently enough.

At least we tried! Those left wingers, they just kept attacking us and they didn’t even try! We failed to impeach him, but at least we tried!

Pablo on September 23, 2006 at 6:47 AM

Yeah, he tried real hard. I try hard to win Powerball but never have won. Is it kind of like that Clinton?

zerodamage on September 23, 2006 at 8:56 AM

“They had eight months to try…”

That, my friends, is the sound of a legacy dying.

Slublog on September 23, 2006 at 9:25 AM

Technically, it was less than eight months, but why let facts get in the way?

JammieWearingFool on September 23, 2006 at 10:31 AM

Well…….It really was only 6 months.

It took the GWB administration almost 2 months to get the furniture back and put all of the keys back on the keyboards after that bunch of juvinile delinquents stole or vandalized nearly everything in the white house before leaving.

Righteous indignation for sure by old Bill. I thought his eyeballs were going to pop out!!

BacaDog on September 23, 2006 at 10:35 AM

Clinton was impeached.

honora on September 23, 2006 at 11:00 AM

He shouldve been jailed. He and his mob-wife. How many crimes were comitted by those two? So far-
Anyone know of a Clinton tell-all book?

shooter on September 23, 2006 at 11:27 AM

Should have asked Clinton, “What is the meaning of the word try?”

moonsbreath on September 23, 2006 at 11:36 AM

Everyone seems to forget about how Cigarman’s minions had done so much sabotage just before they were kicked out, and how Bush was forced to deal with that crap before he could begin to get settled in. I wish someone would ask Billy about that.

Cigarman always gets mad when he is being nailed for his faults/mistakes, and a lie is always offered in those instances.

DannoJyd on September 23, 2006 at 12:30 PM

[second attempt]

It took the GWB administration almost 2 months to get the furniture back and put all of the keys back on the keyboards after that bunch of juvinile delinquents stole or vandalized nearly everything in the white house before leaving.
BacaDog on September 23, 2006 at 10:35 AM

Great point! Everyone seems to forget how Cigarman’s minions had sabotaged everything just before they were kicked out, and how it thus took Bush months to get settled in. Someone should query Billy about that.

Cigarman always loses his temper when he has been nailed by a pertinant question, and the answer he then gives is always a lie.

DannoJyd on September 23, 2006 at 12:36 PM

Bill: “At least I tried.”

Yoda: “Do, or do not, there is no try.”

Bill: “GW had eight months.”

Yoda: “And eight YEARS, YOU had.”

(Bush didn’t have 8 months, how long did Sore/Loserman fight to steal the election? How long did the demonrats hold up comfirmation of Cabinet positions?)

BTW, Klinton WAS impeached, Congress *tried* him but *failed* to convict him.

Tony737 on September 23, 2006 at 1:15 PM

When he went on national TV and shook his finger at us declaring that he’d “never had sex with that woman” and then the news broke about the DNA on the blue dress I was sure that even Clinton couldn’t survive that. It was such a brazen display of contempt for all Americans. I haven’t seen that particular video for years. I think that particular video of Clinton scolding the nation proclaiming his alleged innocence should be found and streamed from all corners of the internet. That is part of his legacy after all.

Kevin R on September 23, 2006 at 1:28 PM

Johann Wolfgang von Goethe is proud. His Faustian figure lives on - Mephistopheles resurfaced!

Entelechy on September 23, 2006 at 2:03 PM

It’s funny how a former POTUS, whose administration was so infantile that they trashed the Whitehouse before leaving, can sit there and be so righteously indignant about his failings while at the same time admitting…. he’s a failure!

The segment airs on Fox News Sunday at 6:00pm Eastern… 3:00Pm Pacific. It also airs on the local independant Fox network channels. Here’s a listing for local Fox stations and the times it will air on Sunday. I will definitely be watching.

SilverStar830 on September 23, 2006 at 3:01 PM

The WaPo article ends with this:

The overriding trouble was, whether they arrested bin Laden or killed him, they first had to find him.

How can they say that? They did find him and had several (did I hear up to ten?) opportunities to kill or capture him.

insomni on September 23, 2006 at 3:28 PM

Am I the only one imagining Hillary red faced as she tries to figure out a way to keep this from hurting her chances at POTUS in ‘08?

LewWaters on September 23, 2006 at 4:28 PM

We cannot afford to have these two criminals in the White House ever again.
