A quickie triptych for you from today’s Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer, who wrangled an exclusive with the president while he’s in New York. The first segment is Bush getting pissy with him, for good reason; the third segment is Bush blathering meaninglessly about the Pope. The second segment? That’s the money clip. And after what Musharraf said yesterday about Osama’s coordinates, it couldn’t be more timely.

The full interview will air tonight on CNN at 7 p.m.

While we’re on the subject, the Pope semi-apologized again today by insisting that he’s been “misunderstood.” A Palestinian journalist tells WaPo that on Al Jazeera, “the Pope’s speech was distorted in the news bulletins through scrolling text on the bottom of the screen where it was repeated ad naseaueum [sic], taken out of context and exaggerated.” A top Iranian cleric suggests dispatching a team of Muslim envoys to educate the pontiff about Islam, a solution “aimed at preventing the Pope from making other remarks offending Muslims.” Meanwhile, the Turk who shot John Paul II in 1981 has sent a letter to Benedict warning him not to come to Turkey under any circumstances.

Update: Musharraf responds to Bush’s comment: “We wouldn’t like to allow that.”
