Video: Michelle debates which sex is smarter on O’Reilly

Res ipsa loquitur.
Topics for discussion. Topic 1: Krazy Keith Olbermann pinched off his fourth “special comment” in three weeks tonight opposite O’R on MSNBC, and proved once again that his douche-itude is of such mass as possibly to affect the tides, or even to draw small cosmic objects into orbit around him. Johnny Dollar’s just posted the recap. If you want it straight from the horse’s ass, head over to Olby’s MSNBC blog and read the transcript. As predictable as the, well, tides, he’s seized on Bush’s remark that it’s “unacceptable” to think America’s treatment of prisoners overseas is morally equivalent to terrorism as proof that Bush believes it’s “unacceptable to think,” period. And thus a chill wind blows, etc. This, while Olby’s “new” book of recycled hit pieces from his show has cracked the top 100 on Amazon. What a preening, amoral, insufferably disingenuous jerkoff. As Johnny says,
Smugness (“Mister” Bush), phony outrage (“frightening”, “dangerous”), and stale guilt-by-association smears (“Richard Nixon”) do not make for heroic journalism. They are the tools of demagogues, tricksters, and propagandists. And they are at heart un-American, as is Herr Olbermann’s “special comment”.
So that’s topic 1. Topic 2: We haven’t worshipped at the altar of the lovely KP in awhile, so I’ll throw it open for debate. Girl next door or supervamp?

Girl next door.
Allahpundit on September 18, 2006 at 9:38 PM
Supervamp, and I bow to Michelle’s superior intellect.
DannoJyd on September 18, 2006 at 9:43 PM
I need to see a picture of Bethany for comparison as she is the new benchmark for hot girl next door.
Rosetta on September 18, 2006 at 9:49 PM
Note to Michelle: I stopped amd asked for directions just a coupla months ago.

speed647 on September 18, 2006 at 9:50 PM
er…and
speed647 on September 18, 2006 at 9:51 PM
My best friend’s sister’s boyfriend’s brother’s girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who’s going with the girl who saw Cindy Sheehan pass out at 31 Flavors (on her “fast”) last night…
AllahPundit and Kirstin Powers are the same person.
Clearly the “AllahPundit” character in this manipulated and twisted reality is the smarter of the two alter-ego’s though. I imagine that “KP” is wearing a wig and heavy make-up, but then we’ve never really seen “AP” to verify, have we? The plot thickens.
MT on September 18, 2006 at 10:01 PM
And she’s from Alaska, Allah. Everything’s wild up there!
IrishEi on September 18, 2006 at 10:06 PM
Yes, please.
MacStansbury on September 18, 2006 at 10:07 PM
Wait, AP’s an ultra-hot, liberal feminyst?
That would explain the whole KP/AP thing.
IF this is true, I’m going to have to re-configure all my aisle-crossing fantasies.
MacStansbury on September 18, 2006 at 10:12 PM
I’m just sayin’…
MT on September 18, 2006 at 10:18 PM
How can I put this in a good light and not get banned? Let’s try this:
This is an excellent political blog, and Allahpundit deserves a large portion of the credit for its success. His ability to find the news, as well as insight his into it is unparalleled. However, I doubt anyone cares who he has a crush on at any given time. Please stop telling us the girl of the day’s name. I’m much happier hearing wise words from MM, MKH and the lady from Realverse without knowing who is hitting on them.
Crap. That didn’t sound civilized at all. I’m getting banned, huh :(
Kevin M on September 18, 2006 at 10:28 PM
Uh, you’re not going to get banned. But you might also lighten up a bit. I gave you a clip here plus a little quick take and links on Olbermann. Having a little fun with Powers does not, I hope, spoil the broth.
Allahpundit on September 18, 2006 at 10:31 PM
Well, after dating her lo these last couple of weeks, I gotta tell you, she is even lovelier and wittier in person than she is on T.V. Let me tell you, she is the “good girl next door” when she is on Fox, but after hours? That’s when she lets her “supervamp” wild side take over. I will say that I was surprised to see that she has a very small birthmark like Cindy Crawford’s. I first noticed it during our first candlelit dinner. The lighting was dim, but we were sitting so close that I could see it. But I digress. Anyway, based on my experiences, I would say that she is deliciously supervampish!
That’s a relief, because to be honest, I wasn’t sure how you’d feel about me making off with your girl and all. But what can I say? All is fair in love and war, right? By the way, I thought you had it locked up when you started e-mailing her, but then you dropped the ball when you flirted with MKH and Bethany. Seriously dude, WTF were you thinking? She was yours for the taking till you pulled that stunt. That hurt her AP, and left her feeling vulnerable and alone. Which is exactly when I moved in.
Well, I’m sorry you had to hear about it like this, but that’s the way it goes. I can tell she’s got that giddy, butterflies in her stomach feeling about me now. She’ll probably start blogging about us in a couple of days, so I figured this was a good time to get this all out in the open. Anyway, maybe the two of us (and by us, I mean KP and myself) will end up as guests on a Hot Air Vent someday. Wouldn’t that be nice?
Ciao!
EFG on September 18, 2006 at 10:33 PM
Sorry Kevin M, I gotta disagree with you. The mix of AP’s hard news and analysis mixed with his trashy gossip is an indispensable part of Hot Air. His style rocks.
My stupid ass snarky post above is really just a homage to his KP
sticke, schtike, ah,… whatever that fancy word that I can’t spell that means comical style. Or sumthin’ like that.AP, keep bringing the news and the trash!
EFG on September 18, 2006 at 10:38 PM
So… you’re not denying that you and KP are one-and-the-same then?
MT on September 18, 2006 at 10:41 PM
MT, read my above post. I can assure you, AP and KP are not one-and-the same.
;-)
EFG on September 18, 2006 at 10:42 PM
I can’t stand girls from next door that are liberal… : )
I can’t see my engaging a deadly moron. A moron because, well… I think you grasp that point. And deadly, because in their ideal world they would erect a wall and then shoot me as I climb over it.
I worship at the alter of Michelle, I know she is married… I’m horrible, I know… But she is amazingly beautiful – mind and all. : )
No really, Michelle is of an echelon that this “Powers chic” will never reach, in my book.
ar_basin on September 18, 2006 at 10:48 PM
OK, so maybe it’s just that KP
AP… a lib plant whose been sucking up to conservatives on the blogosphere lo these many years… biding her time. This site is so bad it just has to be decoy.
Sorry… the meds are wearing off now. I know that Lee Majors is really AllahPundit.
MT on September 18, 2006 at 10:53 PM
Come on, be nice. Powers is surprisingly friendly and down to earth over e-mail. And she’s had complimentary things to say about Michelle. No need for this badmouthing.
Allahpundit on September 18, 2006 at 10:55 PM
That does it, if all the hotties are taken, I’m going for whatever I can get.
Say, is Helen Thomas still available?
MacStansbury on September 18, 2006 at 11:00 PM
Like I said… the meds.
Seriously, she’s good on O’Reilly with Michelle, and her site it dandy. She’s definately not too far from right-minded thinking on many points. Frankly, you need a bigger challenge.
I liked the show tonight. It’s a topic that doesn’t get the play in today’s PC world… we’re different dammit. I’ve got three boys, and I get caught even implying that boys are better than girls at something in front of my mother-in-lay (two daughters) she acts as if I just fell out of a tree! I wonder how the conversation with KP would have gone with women in the military?
MT on September 18, 2006 at 11:01 PM
I thought we already agreed that she needed to change the header graphic over there?
I vote for more of KP’s Rachel ‘do in the header. And still not link in the blogroll, after all the traffic you send her?
MacStansbury on September 18, 2006 at 11:04 PM
Vamp next door?
Jim Treacher on September 18, 2006 at 11:11 PM
Well, IMHO, Michelle is the Ne Plus Ultra of both beauty and brains of ALL the pundits, journalists and newsreaders. And as if that isn’t enough, from what I’ve seen on TV and the vlogs… Personality too.
Sure there are quite a few beauties out there, some even have better than average female brains. And Y’all, are welcome to them. Five minutes of the VENT beats a whole night with some liberal babe for me.
LegendHasIt on September 18, 2006 at 11:16 PM
I was impressed that time they Huddied out KP for her sub-in on H&C, but I’m more impressed with the Huddification of Molly Line. Did anyone catch her doing the late night headlines last night? Yow! I think she’s kind of a newbie at FNC because I only started seeing her doing small reports a couple months ago, but they transformed sometime recently.
RightWinged on September 18, 2006 at 11:51 PM
I’m not going to pretend I like Allah moving in on so many hot poliblogosphere chicks, and having them email back to him, presumably with soft nothings appended to their discussion of the political topics of the day,
but I have to register a countervote to this pernicious idea that Hot Air should abandon its…romantic aspects. If we don’t maintain the good things in civilization, such as weird virtual flirtation, then you-know-who will have won.
Alex K on September 19, 2006 at 12:07 AM
Besides, Allah posts Michelle’s Factor appearances every week, what’s he supposed to do, ignore the vision on the other side of the splitscreen? Would you visit Niagara and not comment on the falling water? Would you call home from Agra and make no mention of the Taj Mahal? Would you describe the night sky but leave out the stars?
Alex K on September 19, 2006 at 12:14 AM
I always enjoy reading the comments here, and my approval level has gone up due to no one partaking of topic #1. I believe that person is as irrelevant as they come.
EFG, Allah is doing schtik? I never noticed.
DannoJyd on September 19, 2006 at 12:32 AM
Re: Topic #2 — Trick question!
Kinda like asking if the glass is half-full, or half-empty.
Half is half! The lovely KP is the girl-next-door AND supervamp AND (I’ll let y’all conjecture from here.)
DuffBeer on September 19, 2006 at 12:39 AM
Topic 1:
Olbermann… the bastard Stepford step-child of the left. He was the kid that got beat up for his lunch money every day at school. By some quirk of fate (and extreme luck I presume), he now has a small little TV spot on a liberal news channel to spew vitriol at anyone and everyone that reminds him of his horrid childhood of bedwetting and thumb sucking. He could only dream of being a super-hero then, while he lay in a puddle of his own urine for fear of getting out of bed because it was dark in his room, he has that opportunity now. Only, it’s strictly for the worlds endless supply of bedwetters and thumb suckers, and it’s from a well lit safe place in a big studio where the only ramification he faces for his lies and made-up horror stories is that someone in the studio will see the wet spot on the front of his pants when he steps away from his chair when he’s done.
Topic 2:
Girl next door. Kirsten Powers is definitely a beautiful woman, but she could use some… er, brain augmentation. I’m not saying she’s stupid, but if only she knew why she has to hate Republicans and President Bush, without being told what to say and wasn’t just towing the party line, then maybe I would find her as enthralling as most people around here seem to find her. I find pleasure in beauty as much as anyone –especially if that beauty is mounted on a female frame– but I have to give KP negative points for unoriginal thought. I could be easily swayed into enthrallment, though, if she’d just admit it to herself that she’s really not a dhimmwit at heart and come on over to the right side. Hell, she links HotAir enough (but never on HuffPoo I noticed)… maybe that’s a small tell? Maybe a lil bit-o-AP nudging could do it for us.
Topic 3:
Bill O’Reilly’s kid wants to be Boy George??? What the hell is he doing to his poor kid!?
SilverStar830 on September 19, 2006 at 1:28 AM
Schtik! That’s the spelling I was looking for!
Actually, I think AP used the term schtik to discribe his writings on his ongoing faux romantic longings / relationship with KP.
But I could be wrong.
EFG on September 19, 2006 at 1:44 AM
But there is a right answer – Girl next door, because in the second picture, KP looks like Barbie or a wax museum exhibit of KP.
And, please don’t lose the lighter side of things, be it ‘your’ girls/lovelife, phantasies, palate-cleansers or whatever makes you and us smile.
Entelechy on September 19, 2006 at 2:28 AM
That was a little odd wasn’t it? First of all, he rarely mentions his kids… but one of the few times he does, he tells the world that his son (who is only 3 years old by the way) wants to be Boy George, and then shouts that he says he’s not going to be no matter how much he wants to!? I think he was making a joke with the Boy George comment, but got it mixed together with his own personal parenting “you can’t be ____” comment, and it got weird. It was more awkward than those moments when Greta tries to joke with the H&C boys, only by the time she finishes her punchline, they’re gone and she’s in an empty studio looking very uncomfortable. She handles it like a pro and jumps right in to the show, but those moments (frequent by the way) are always weird.
RightWinged on September 19, 2006 at 4:59 AM
I agree with Kevin M. I’ve actually lost a lot of respect for HotAir over the past few months, mostly because of AllahPundit. He just can’t keep his personal fantasies separate from supposedly political blogging. To me, it seems unprofessional and inappropriate. I’m not saying that blogging should be boring and never funny, but I do think that there is a line of professionality that should be maintained. Talking about “aisle-crossing fantasies” and the like crosses that line.
And as for Entelechy saying it “makes you and us smile”… it doesn’t make me smile. It makes me think that most of the “conservatives” that read this site are actually just stupid old men coming together to drool over the latest hottie who is at least 20 years younger than them. It makes me think that conservative men value nothing about conservative women except for their looks. As a conservative woman, that’s not cool.
What makes me smile on HotAir is when Byran writes in-depth, well thought out posts about important issues. Or when Ian posts a relevant video without discussing whether or not the subject is “the girl next door” or a “supervamp”. Or when Michelle jokes around on the Vents. As far as I’m concerned, AllahPundit contributes nothing of value – or humor – to this blog.
tiekitwist on September 19, 2006 at 7:09 AM
It has to be said:
Michelle and Kirsten talking sex… does it get any better?
{sigh}
;)
Lawrence on September 19, 2006 at 8:59 AM
And any day of the week, Michelle is still prettier than Kirsten.
Lawrence on September 19, 2006 at 8:59 AM
Tiekitwist –
The staff at Hot Air shares these things I value: sharp news judgement, entrepreneurial spirit, commitment to truth and fairness, shared passion for defending our country and its existence, relentless work ethic, personal and professional integrity, and yes, a wonderful, warped, and wicked sense of humor.
Allah offers all that and more on a daily basis here–I can barely keep up with him–plus an occasional appreciation for the fairer sex to blow off steam.
I encourage all my men to blog loudly and carry a big schtik. Nobody does it like Allah. And nobody–nobody–puts Allah in a corner.
***
P.S. Just so I don’t leave anyone out:
Bryan and Ian, I love you guys, too.
Virtual group hug.
Michelle on September 19, 2006 at 9:16 AM
Allah did not create man so that he could have fun. The aim of creation was for mankind to be put to the test through hardship and prayer. An Islamic regime must be serious in every field. There are no jokes in Islam. There is no humor in Islam. There is no fun in Islam. There can be no fun and joy in whatever is serious.
Got that, AP? Now cram a stick up your ass, eschew all this humor and frivolity and make with the hard news.
Thanks, tiekitwist. This place was turning into a web site where people were starting to act like a community. The nerve of some people! The web needs another dry, personality-free news site. And that Allah! Remember when he was whipping Dan Rather like a rented mule while playing a deity with a funny feeling in his pants? The horror…the impropriety…the look on Mary Mapes’ face.
It’s beyond me how this place manages it’s 63K visitors a day with all this foolishness going on.
Pablo on September 19, 2006 at 9:22 AM
lighten up, its a blog.
Maybe you would have more respect for the mainstream media. You may be a bit late getting your news though.
I came here because Michelle is a babe. Allah’s insight and talent to gather and present news in an interesting way keeps me coming back.
Keep up the GREAT work Allah and Co.
iNeXuS on September 19, 2006 at 9:28 AM
tiekitwist,
I, as a conservative woman, hereby duely invite you to no longer frequent this site. The level of intelligence and wit, to include the occasional glimpses of AP’s male humanity, are what make this the most interesting and engaging political blog on the ‘net.
I love men when they are men: intelligent, funny, witty, tough, and unashamed to be heterosexual.
If these men are not PC enough for you, find another blog to troll.
BlueStateBlues on September 19, 2006 at 9:30 AM
Thanks, guys. I appreciate it.

EFG on September 19, 2006 at 9:35 AM
I’ll bet KP could do it. It’s all about what kind of bait you’re using. ;-)
Pablo on September 19, 2006 at 9:43 AM
Oh, I forgot to answer the question!
Girl next door.
Michelle on September 19, 2006 at 9:45 AM
Well I guess when MM and KP appear on the O show, that’s less time he spends on the subject of sex offenders or talking with Geraldo as of he has sense.
Pearls to swine in my opinion.
honora on September 19, 2006 at 10:07 AM
Hot Air is an amazing place to hang out and learn. The wit makes the learning in these difficult times pleasurable. This is the only blog where I read every comment. The comments are intelligent and well thought out for the most part.
Valiant on September 19, 2006 at 10:13 AM
Kevin M and tiekitwist,
This is the first time I’ve seen a “girl of the day” post and I frequent this site often. So they let their hair down – that humor or baiting is much better than what I see on various blogs – Right and Left.
Aside from that issue the type of material found here is amazing. For me there are many reasons to continue to respect and visit.
ar_basin on September 19, 2006 at 10:35 AM
I agree, the other day I had to excuse myself as a sour person tried to lure me into a DUmmie/FReeper fight.
The fact that this site doesn’t let you directly and automatically respond to someone adds value.
ar_basin on September 19, 2006 at 10:41 AM
Tiekwist doesn’t fire often, but when she does, it is always well thought out and itelligent … and most of the time putting allah in his place. Also, most of the time when tiekitwist comments, Michelle comes running to Allah’s rescue:)
There is nothing professional nor honorable about “conservative” male men lusting over women on a blog such as this. Heck, bluestatesblue, sounds like you wouldn’t care what type of man lusts after you — actually, you sound pathetic and desperate;) Who died and left you in charge of registration?
And pablo, oh pablo, sometimes I think the only brain you have is … well … let’s just put it this way — it takes a real idiot to compare tiekitwist with anything islamic and I get sick of your cheap attempts to bully her and anyone else you don’t agree with. If the number of daily hits on a blog are what makes it worthwhile — then you must spend most of your time at the daily kos? Great argument there buddy.
I mean honestly, I think commentators like tiekiwist and kevin m are just trying to protect a blog with so much potential from becoming a place where perverted men swarm to.
Michelle makes the calls — but condoning and encouraging such behavior is an odd one.
wytammic on September 19, 2006 at 10:41 AM
Oh dear. Has PC infiltrated HOT AIR???
Oh the humanity.
honora on September 19, 2006 at 10:45 AM
Right. Why would they spend their time visiting the eight billion hardcore porn sites online when they could come here for H-O-T-T screencaps of Kirsten Powers? Or to listen to me joke about my non-existent flirtation with Bethany?
You guys are a real drag sometimes.
Allahpundit on September 19, 2006 at 10:45 AM
Allahpundit: word of advice from an older woman who thinks you’re very funny: as a rule, people who use the word “perverted” are to be avoided as all costs. Though I gotta admit the visual of “perverting men swarm (ing)” is sort of comical.
Rock on.
honora on September 19, 2006 at 10:48 AM
New company motto:
“Hot Air: Where perverted men swarm to (and where perverted women occasionally ogle FDNY calendar guys)”
Michelle on September 19, 2006 at 10:51 AM
Thanks, honora, much appreciated.
Allahpundit on September 19, 2006 at 10:52 AM
No, PC only infiltrates HotAir when Allah compulsively posts about Ann Coulter. Then, by gosh, you better watch what you say! Also — allah’s “sense of humor” just conveniently disappears:)
wytammic on September 19, 2006 at 10:55 AM
Yup! : )
Apparently this type of humor is as flammable as the topic of smoking (in restaurants), teacher/student sex relations, Evolution, etc…
I officially close this thread. : )

No big deal, let’s move on…
ar_basin on September 19, 2006 at 10:59 AM
Wow! Just as I was scrolling down this page, seeing the vid caps of KP and MM, Romeo Void’s “Girl in Trouble (Is a Temporary Thing) starts playing on my iPod.
It’s first line is: “She’s got a face that shows what she knows / She’s heard every line.”
Man, I like that song.
Gottafang on September 19, 2006 at 11:00 AM
Don’t you know by now he’s a lover, not a fighter.
Valiant on September 19, 2006 at 11:07 AM
I don’t think we’re in much danger of roving bands of perverts coming to this blog to drool on screenshots..I hope the above poster was joking…it keeps things light here, how you mix things up. As to KP, I like the first screenshot better. Her hair looks…weird in the second one..to much like a Jennifer Aniston knockoff. However, if we staged a beauty pageant (look out, the perverts are swarming..ahhhhh), Michelle would get my vote. Looks and personality get me every time.
austinnelly on September 19, 2006 at 11:11 AM
ar_basin, you cannot ‘frequent this site often’ and be unaware that Allahpundit is infatuated with Kirsten Powers, Mary Katharine Ham, and Bethany from the Realverse. He’s been talking about them off an on for months.
Don’t get me wrong. This is a great site, and one I visit many times a day. Allahpundit is a spectacular blogger. The humor here is on par with Ace on one of his better days. My single complaint is that I really don’t care who he’s grooving on at the given time. If he continues, I’ll keep coming back anyway. It’s just an annoyance, so I mentioned it. I doubt I will again. I assumed I wasn’t in the minority, but if it’s just me and tiekitwist, then I’ll stop talking about it.
Well, after this of course. Bluestategirl said,”I love men when they are men: intelligent, funny, witty, tough, and unashamed to be heterosexual.” Good Lord! I had no idea you had to hit on girls in print to be “unashamed to be heterosexual.” I’d better start hitting on women at work, lest they think I’m ashamed of my sexuality. And if it proves that I am funny, witty and tough, well that’s just gravy.
Textual sexual advance = funny, witty, tough, and unashamed to be heterosexual.
Wow, that’s not how I was seeing it. All it does for me is make me slightly embarrassed for a guy I don’t know but have great respect for.
Kevin M on September 19, 2006 at 11:11 AM
preposition intentionally dangled.
Kevin M on September 19, 2006 at 11:15 AM
Ok, enough!!! Get this thread back on it’s proper topic – I’ll go first by quoting a pair of Norm MacDonald classics from SNL’s Weekend Update…
#1:
“In Milwaukee, Wisconsin, a man allowed his eight-year-old daughter to take the wheel of his car, and an accident ensued that damaged seven other cars and injured six people. Which once again proves my theory: women can’t drive.”
#2:
“Who are safer drivers? Men or women? Well, according to a new survey, 55 percent of adults feel that women are most responsible for minor fender benders, while 78 percent blame men for most fatal crashes. Please note that the percentages in these pie graphs do not add up to 100 percent because the math was done by a woman. … [crowd groans and boos] For those of you hissing at that joke, it should be noted that that joke was written by a woman, so…now you don’t know what the hell to do, do ya?… No, I’m just kidding, we don’t hire women.”
thirteen28 on September 19, 2006 at 11:20 AM
Now that’s hilarious — and back on track. Thanks thirteen23.

ar_basin on September 19, 2006 at 11:25 AM
Why is MM labeled a “Conservative Author” and KP is a “Fox News Political Analyst”.
I prefer, “Vast Right Wing Supermodel” myself. And I do read the articles.
dinasour on September 19, 2006 at 11:47 AM
I prefer, “Vast Right Wing Supermodel” myself.
Ha. I kind of like that.
Allahpundit on September 19, 2006 at 11:48 AM
Erm, I can’t speak for Michelle of course, but any description of a woman that includes the word “vast” and does not include the word “intelligence” is … a no-no.
Flirt with ‘em all you want, Allahbabe, it keeps things lively around here. Some people have no sense of … much of anything.
Anwyn on September 19, 2006 at 12:12 PM
Uh-oh, the call is out:
Conservative woman defends masculinity, swarm, swarm!
Thanks for the personal attack, wytammic; nice elevation of the conversation. Desperate for what, by the way?
Back to topic: I watched the segment last night and found it ironic that O’Reilly was doing a men-are-smarter-than-women topic with two women whose SAT scores were at least “four points” higher than his. Or, perhaps, it was his way of proving that not all men are smarter than women.
BlueStateBlues on September 19, 2006 at 12:26 PM
Allahpundit is the best blogger on the planet. Period.
Not that I entirely get the fascination with KP, mind.
But putting that aside, nobody keeps up with him.
Bryan on September 19, 2006 at 12:26 PM
Thanks, dude. How come your posts are the ones getting all the trackbacks, then? Heh.
Allahpundit on September 19, 2006 at 12:30 PM
Mostly because people like Dean Esmay choose to stick out their tongues at me rather than make an actual argument for or against their misperceptions of what I said.
Bryan on September 19, 2006 at 12:43 PM
Ditto that. HotAir is a difference-maker. A heart-felt thank you for all that you do.
MT on September 19, 2006 at 2:07 PM
I agree fully with honora and would add that people who pretend to have the ‘ultimate’ interpretation of “professionalism“, on blogs, at work or elsewhere, need to be viewed with suspicion also. My grandma called them ’street angels’ and ‘house devils’.
I’m a fiercely independent woman, politically and otherwise, who’s fought hard and overcome much to arrive at this stage. I don’t need help or advice to interpret: news, politics, men, humor, women, professionalism, vulgarity, grace, intelligence, wit, security, perversion, happiness, freedom, tolerance, sadness, success, have-a-pick at what you prefer.
This blog is simply the best and varied, and we’re free to read all posts, all comments or whatever our time, capacity and fancy permit.
Sometimes it’s wonderful to be goofy, as the blogger or the commenter. I don’t agree with every line either, but so what? I’m free.
To AP in specific – just looking at the number of threads and the times they get posted (often literally around the clock), it’s doubtful this dude has a love-life, or any life outside of that cubbyhole he reports to work from.
He can do or say anything he wants. Period. As a free man. If he does it so we’re, at least some of us, also entertained, so much the lighter, the funnier, annoying, amusing, or whatever…so much the better.
I look at it as a wonderful balance between the extremely serious and the lighter side of life. No more, no less.
P.S. honora, I posted a comment next to yours on the Muslims in Europe (NYT – Muslims demand apology, in the Vault, under “The Blog”)

And those of us priviledged to read/comment on this board, and the world in general s/b happy that it is!
Thanks for all!

Wow, there’s girls on this blog…!
Kini on September 19, 2006 at 2:44 PM
Uh, I guess I will forgive you if you forgive me. I also didn’t notice that ‘frequent the site often’ doesn’t make sense, and I only know the one language :)
Kevin M on September 19, 2006 at 2:48 PM
Kevin M, thanks for this part of your post – please don’t hold back going forward. The idea is not to keep quiet. I enjoyed the exchange which followed and hope we’re all more open about both sides now. Regards,
Entelechy on September 19, 2006 at 3:01 PM
If I may, I’d like to chime in not about the argument but about one of the people making the argument: Kevin M. Don’t be so hard on him, ya’ll. He’s one of the nicest guys I know on the I’net and doesn’t have a mean bone in him.
Signed,
ST – member of the Allah AND Kevin M. fan clubs

Michelle, wytammic is picking on me!!
Oh wait, nevermind. I just remembered that I don’t care.
Here’s a clue, for you, for free: You don’t like, don’t read it. It’s a great big internet.
Pablo on September 19, 2006 at 3:36 PM
Entelechy, you wouldn’t happen to be a single lady, would ya?
Pablo on September 19, 2006 at 3:40 PM
Pablo, no, but if I would be I’d marry you immediately for your wit and independence, and also because of this:
…regardless of age-difference or anything else.
You are a rascal; don’t change :)
Entelechy on September 19, 2006 at 4:04 PM
We’d have some fun, I tell you that! But, alas…
Pablo on September 19, 2006 at 4:42 PM
Entelechy, *right on.*
AP, carry on. We love you. As you know and smugly chortle about while cutting together your clips. I hope.

Alright, it seems I hit a sensitive spot. Since I have been at class all day and haven’t had a chance to respond to any of your lovely arguments, this might be a little disorganized.
To those of you who claim that at best I am a politically correct party pooper and at worst an Islamic fascist… I say to you, bite me. If all you have to joke about is attractive women, get a life.
To the “conservative woman” who replied to me stating clearly (and I agree with wytammic, rather desperately) that you like it when your men act heterosexual, I say drop that crap like a hot potato. When you start saying things like that, you’re implying that rape is just a man acting heterosexual. That sexual harrassment is just a man acting heterosexual. After all, they’re not being gay are they! While oogling about pretty girls is obviously not on the same level of rape and sexual harrassment, my point remains the same: your argument is stupid. It actually seems quite degrading to heterosexuality in general when you reduce it to pathetic infatuations. But that’s irrelevant.
To those of you that will continue to think of me as a liberal spy or an Islamo-fascist or whatever, get over yourselves. This issue isn’t about politics, it’s about common decency and the way people are acting.
All in all, I just feel that AllahPundit’s obsession with any pretty face that comes his way – and his apparent need to share the obsession with the world – is pathetic. I think that it takes away from the usual intelligent wit and commentary that is found here at HotAir.

Just don’t ask Kerstin “to have your children” if there is a Planned Parenthood next door.
gary on September 19, 2006 at 6:16 PM
I know this thread has about reached its halflife, but, I just want to thank everyone at HotAir for their insightfulness, and for being their for everyone who cares to read, and see, what you have to say. That includes all the wonderful posters here as well. I read lefty blogs too, as I try to appreciate the points of view of everyone, but I think HotAir is on a distinguished road that will help save the world… okay, help save a few lost souls maybe ;)
I’m privileged to be able to be here, dunce cap and all. Thanks to MM, AP, Bryan, Kevin, Ian, MKH, everyone at HotAir, and girl-next-door KP too, for all the serious information disseminating topics, and the cute & fun ones also.

SilverStar830 on September 19, 2006 at 6:26 PM
Thanks, tiekitwist. It’s nice to know who hates you.
You don’t buy into the whole equality thing, do you?
I will not apologize for being a man. I will not submit. In fact, I’ll be over here having a beer and laughing at the silly girl, raging against the patriarchy.
Grow up.
Pablo on September 19, 2006 at 8:18 PM
Pablo:
If it weren’t so pathetic, it would almost be cute how you chose to ignore the context of that statement. I specifically said that the infatuated oogling over pretty girls that you all participate in here is NOT on the same level as rape and sexual harrassment. I said that BlueStateBlues’ logic in justifying it leads down that path. Pay attention.
tiekitwist on September 19, 2006 at 8:39 PM
Wow.
I made no such implication, but to your logic, Allah talking about KP is the same as raping her.
Quantum leap.
BlueStateBlues on September 19, 2006 at 8:41 PM
BlueStateBlues:
I don’t really enjoy repeating myself, but that is a gross misinterpretation of what I said. This is the last time I’m going to address this topic. Please see my reply to Pablo right above your latest comment as well as my original comment. I am NOT saying that AP drooling over KP and others is the same thing or even on the same level as rape and sexual harassment. Instead, I am saying that the logic you use to defend his behavior could be used to create a slippery slope of obviously horrible behavior. Again, pay attention.
tiekitwist on September 19, 2006 at 9:09 PM
I *was* paying attention. You actually said:
So no, you weren’t saying her logic could be used to defend rape. You’re saying she was implying flirtatious behavior is the precursor or companion or indicator of rape. Your extrapolation was outrageous and insulting to both BlueStates and AP. A man noticing a pretty girl, and remarking on her prettiness, is normal heterosexual behavior. Rape is not. Obvious to anybody with a brain, rape cannot be justified by writing it off as “normal heterosexual behavior.” Flirting can. *You* need to pay attention.
Anwyn on September 19, 2006 at 9:39 PM
And before I get jumped on, feel free to replace “girl” with “woman” and assume I meant “woman over 18.” I do not condone a man remarking on the prettiness of underage girls as normal.
That said, jump away.
Anwyn on September 19, 2006 at 9:41 PM
Actions:
1. AP might like to tease KP, and us, or just to kid around
2. Pablo and some male co. are just, er, being natural
3. tiekitwist and some co. don’t find this so funny/silly
4. BlueStateBlue, MM and some co. spread some adult reality
Potential consequences:
1. Those who oogle after pretty women need to “get a life”
2. AP is obsessed with “any pretty face which comes his way”
3. BlueStateBlues is on a “slippery slope of obviously horrible behavior” if she doesn’t stop nudging Pablo & co. on.
4. Pablo & co. might be on O’Reilley next as accused rapists
5. HOTAiR might be featured on CNN’s Nancy Grace show as a forum for sexual harrassment
6. To most of the rest of us it’s not so “obvious” what this is all about; therefore
7. “drop that crap like a hot potato”
Entelechy on September 19, 2006 at 9:53 PM
Best Phrase of the Day: “Those who oogle after pretty women.”

MM blows KP out of the water…
Malpaso on September 19, 2006 at 10:27 PM
This whole comment section is extremely disappointing. A few of us make comments disapproving of a long string of online flirtation. Allahpundit made his position as clear as I, tiekitwist and wytammic did. Other’s did as well. ‘Nuff said. End of story? Hope so.
But no. Pablo decided it was less important to discuss things rationally and lightheartedly than it was to attack disagreement. “Thanks, tiekitwist. This place was turning into a web site where people were starting to act like a community.” Since when does disagreement over a minor issue destroy communities? I must have missed that memo. “The web needs another dry, personality-free news site.” Yes, because without knowing who a guy wants to date, there can simply be no humor in the world. I’m amazed that I never realized that before.
No one’s asking you to apologize for being a man, Pablo. We’re just asking you to act like one. You might take your own words, “Grow up” to heart. Picking on ladies (as I believe tiekitwist is, apologies if I’m wrong) is not a sign of being a man. Just a FYI.
I have to say that I mistakenly assumed that when the attack on tiekitwist began, most clear thinkers would make a request for the infighting to stop. Guess I was wrong. What bothers me most is not that Pablo made those remarks, but that others like BlueStateBlues agreed with the attack. Entelechy even suggested Pablo’s comments were so funny that (jokingly) she’d marry him. This is the response, rather than noting that his statements have no argumentative substance and since it is less humorous than just rude, and should be deplored by clear thinkers on the right? Something’s wrong here.
Flippantly non-factual remarks like that are funny when pointed at jihadis or ultra-liberal crazies, since there is no possibility of actually reasoning with them, but not when they are pointed at people who share your beliefs in general. And even in the former case, only barely funny. Can’t we leave aggressive non-reasoned attacks to the koskids? I’m all for reasoned debate. But we stopped having that early on in this comments section.
I’m a big fan of humor, as my website attempts to prove, poorly. I just don’t understand the humor of “Boy I really like this girl, she’s hot!” or “This girl winked at me… it’s on!” Maybe it’s just me (and tiekitwist), but can’t you just disagree with a logical statement? Or disagree with no statement at all?
Thanks Silver! You just promoted me! Please inform the staff at HotAir :) I need to use the company jet for the weekend… or is this too soon?
Man, I know I’m getting banned soon. Darn you, you libertarian tendencies!
Kevin M on September 19, 2006 at 11:11 PM
Kevin M, there is no reason whatsoever to ban you. None.
I even sent you a nice note earlier, explaining that this is just a discussion and no need to fight, or be depressed or disappointed over. I believed ST when she stood up for how nice you are. I still do. I just think that you’re taking this too seriously. It’s all by far not as deep as you interpret it to be.
Entelechy on September 19, 2006 at 11:33 PM
Btw, Kevin M, the “Bush drinks Kofi” on your site is hilarious :)
