Video: L.A. Mayor Villaraigosa jumps ugly with John and Ken over immigration

posted at 4:57 pm on September 15, 2006 by Allahpundit

I was going to call him “Mayor MEChA” but that wouldn’t be fair. He’s reformed now, you see.

KFI has video. If you don’t know who John and Ken are, then you either don’t live in southern California or you haven’t been reading this blog for very long.

In any case, it’s war.

Would anything different be expected from the Mayor of LA? If the Lord wanted to give the world an enema, he would insert the tube in LA.

Wade on September 15, 2006 at 5:20 PM

John and Ken usually call him “Mayor Reconquista.” Although they once called him Mayor Salvatrucha.

Alex K on September 15, 2006 at 5:34 PM

Mayor Reconquista’s successful election had me in shock for a few days.

He’ll probably resort to the same tactics as the Clintoon gang and try to get J and K kicked off the air. Free speech for all (except those that disagree…)!

If Angelides takes Arnold’s place, we (Californians) might as well just secede to Mexico… Angelides will remove the nat’l guard from the border, give illegals drivers licenses (which is a de-facto way for them to vote), and increase taxes. That’s what we know so far…Not to hijack the thread.

It’s important to keep these guys’ tactics and histories in the spotlight.

NTWR on September 15, 2006 at 5:55 PM

If Angelides wins the Governor’s race, I’ll retire at 20 instead of 30 and get the hell out of California earlier than planned. In all seriousness though, I don’t think Angelides has a prayer.

Los Angeles, on the other hand, is purely a shit hole at this point, with a shit-head racist Mayor. That saddens me too. I grew up there. I miss the High School days when we’d cruise Hollywood Blvd and throw pennys at the hookers, go surfing, cruise Whittier Blvd in our hot rods, street races, going camping up in Big Bear… poor poor Lady L.A., how I miss the old you.

SilverStar830 on September 15, 2006 at 6:04 PM

Hello my fellow Californians, NTWR and SilverStar830 (Silver, I tried to convey to you on another thread that I’ve lived in North County since 1981 :)

Not to worry, Angelides will not be our next Governor. However, after Schwarzenegger’s next term it will be Villaraigosa, unfortunately.

AP, thanks for featuring. Yesterday on my way home, J & K were hosting the viewing of the movie “Border Wars” when they were eagerly awaiting video on this topic. They were ecstatic.

If the Lord wanted to give the world an enema, he would insert the tube in LA.

Wade on September 15, 2006 at 5:20 PM

The tube would be inserted in Hollywood, to be more micro about it :)

Entelechy on September 15, 2006 at 6:16 PM

Entelechy-I’m from North County, too…North SLO county.

Uhhhh, what do you mean Villaraigosa will be after Arnold!?! Say it ain’t so! That will mean the death of California as we know it.

I’m excited about the “Border Wars” movie. J&K unfortunately don’t come in up here though.

NTWR on September 15, 2006 at 6:26 PM

Bare in mind Schwarzenegger has all but surrendered on illegal immigration. He’s repudiated his support for Prop. 187, and he called the use of the word “invasion” an indication of “prejudice.” You could see it coming when he wouldn’t take a position on the national congressional debate, only whining that he wanted tem to stop playing politics (ie, the House summer pageants tearing into the Senate bill) and just do something.

When he wins, he’ll be the first Republican to win statewide while being pro-illegal—until now all the gubernatorial and senatorial candidates since Wilson have pulled this crap but been wasted for it. Whereas Arnold came out for 187 and against illegal alien driver licenses in ’03 and won. But now…

Alex K on September 15, 2006 at 6:26 PM

Well, on the immigration issue, I think it either gets under control by 2010 or it’s a moot point, California’s all but gone before Governor Villaraigosa even takes office.

Alex K on September 15, 2006 at 6:28 PM

True, Alex, by that (2010)time there will be more illegal voters than citizens in this state. They can “vote” or shut the state down for whatever they want. What the hell?

Keep your arms ready-the banditos are on the way.

Also, Arnold is a wuss on illegal immigration, but I think part of that is to get some votes. Like always, he’s the lesser of two “lesses.”

You can’t drive a block within the San Fernando Valley without seeing a lah-ti-noe mommy pushing her anchor babies in a stroller.

At this point, Cah-lee-foh-nia is a lost cause.

It’s up to the rest of you to save yourselves.

The Ugly American on September 15, 2006 at 7:23 PM

NTWR, I meant San Diego County, North. You’re a bit further North. It’s all beautiful :)

Well, the Governator and señor Villaraigosa have this deal – the latter supports the former, and the former leaves the door open on the way out…Villaraigosa won’t support the governor openly but he won’t oppose him either. It’s a silent deal. They get along very well.

On Aaarnuld’s “drivers’ licences” – he was against them before the recall and is against them now. Who knows what he’ll be for or against after the election. Much of what he does is driven for votes in Nov. and by what his wife whispers into his ear that night. And still…remember Gray Davis? Our prolonged black-outs? Businesses leaving Calif. in droves? The deficit into the gazillions, after having inherited a black book from Mr. Wilson? And a personality to cry about, in a state which has Hollywood?

In California we always have one or two idiots on the ballot. This time it’s Mr. Angelides. And yes, often it’s between ‘Bad and Worse’ here.

Folks, California looks like a mess from the outside (after all we have prisoner-Cunningham and had Tookie) – it’s really not that crazy here, and it’s beautiful.

Open thread now for replies to “it’s really not that crazy here” :)

I listen to John and Ken every day commuting home. Their radio show is a goldmine of info about all the insanity going on in Southern California. I have yet to hear them broadcast one piece of false information. They are bulldogs in exposing political corruption and hypocrisy, and the lefty politicians here hate them for it. Mayor Reconquista is a lying sack of shit, promoting policies that are flushing L.A. down the toilet and actually hurting the law-abiding Latino community. He doesn’t have the cojones to debate J&K on the issues, all he can do is resort to attacks.

speed647 on September 15, 2006 at 8:02 PM

We have an English only law in California yet Villaraigosa gives most of his speeches in Spanish.

70% of the voting public is white yet this jerk gives his speeches in Spanish.

What does that tell you about this pandering, racist pig that encourages Illegal Immigration 24/7 so that California is given back to Mexico.

On top of all that he is a dual citizen. Care to guess what country that he stills holds citizenship?

For those of you that do not know we are being invaded by Mexico in California and we just lost another Hospital to bankruptcy because Mexicans use the emergency room as their own personal doctors office and refuse to pay their bills. There have been 86 hospitals that have closed in the last 10 years.

This is what is coming to a city and town near you.

Tom Tancredo for President in 2008

ScottyDog on September 15, 2006 at 8:37 PM

John and Ken are equal opportunity offenders. They will offend politicians on the Right, including the President, with the same verve as they will do for those on the Left. Right now our Governor won’t show his face or won’t call in to them, even though they were instrumental in shoving Mr. Davis out the door.

Hypocricy getting curioser and curioser…

Señor Villaraigosa held this diatribe about John and Ken “deviding our country” at a Spanish Media Forum, where only Spanish reporters where gathered to receive awards from him. Who is the devider?

Also, J & K said on the radio this afternoon that the Mayor is upset because they had rallied thousands of listenens to send him toilet plungers and brushes after he’d said “we clean your toilets”.

ScottyDog, I work with very large hospitals. Here is just one initiative most taxpayers don’t even know about; this is not for standard emergency care expenses, no, this is for true migrants, mostly men with no children, those with no homes and no address and other categories, below:

Section 1011, Federal Reimbursement of Emergency Health Services Furnished to Undocumented Aliens, provides $250 million per year for fiscal years (FY) 2005-2008 for payments to eligible providers for emergency health services provided to undocumented aliens and other specified aliens. Two-thirds of the funds will be divided among all 50 states and the District of Columbia based on their relative percentages of undocumented aliens. One-third will be divided among the six states with the largest number of undocumented alien apprehensions.

Payments may be made for services furnished to certain individuals described in the statute as: 1) undocumented aliens; 2) aliens who have been paroled into the United States at a United States port of entry for the purpose of receiving eligible services; and 3) Mexican citizens permitted to enter the United States for not more than 72 hours under the authority of a biometric machine readable border crossing identification card (also referred to as a “laser visa”) issued in accordance with the requirements of regulations prescribed under a specific section of the Immigration and Nationality Act.

Those who claim Americans are heartless have no idea about this and myriad of other such initiatives our government shoves down our throat.

Entelechy on September 15, 2006 at 9:21 PM

Congratulations John and Ken! You are doing such a great job Mayor Reconquista has mentioned you by name!

Mayor Reconquista is another example of the left’s success in “multiculturalism” and “diversity”. We should be emphasizing common values, common language, assimiliation, and identification as United States Citizens. Mayor Reconquista is a foreign national using whatever influence he can muster to advocate policies that are not in the best interst of California or the United States.

La Raza certainly has influence in Los Angeles – obviously.

I listened to Jon & Ken when I lived in Burbank mainly because of their sarcastic humor. They became a bit more conservative after 911 and they got even funnier. Then they started going after an activist judge. Around that time I moved to CT.

Coronagold on September 16, 2006 at 7:18 AM

Is Mayor Villaraigosa another example of a mexican doing a job that Americans don’t want to do?

Here’s an idea: trenches. What’s good enough for Baghdad….
