Video: Maher whines WoT ‘Jam[med] down our throats’, calls WTC site ‘hole in the ground’
posted at 3:29 pm on September 14, 2006 by Ian
HBO funnyman and severe BDS sufferer Bill Maher couldn’t help but gush out vitriolic hate on last night’s edition of Hardball. I put together a little montage of Maher’s quack positions; watch it and weep:
Maher was “outraged” President Bush dared asked for network time on Monday to “jam down our throats” that the War on Terror includes the War in Iraq, then told Bush to “shut up about it.” Matthews played some hardball and wanted to know what Democrat Maher would choose to match Bush. After several moments of hesitation, Maher decided to choose Joe Biden and John Edwards; however he seemed the least bit satisfied.
And then came the part when Matthews referred to the World Trade Center site as a “hole in the ground,” giving Maher the perfect chance to complain not only about that “hole in the ground,” but that President Bush did not visit it on 9/11/01. Continuing his whine, Maher bemoaned that instead of visiting the sites he did on Monday, Bush should have “commemorate[d]” the day by going back to the states he was in on that day.
MATTHEWS: Let’s talk about what we saw this weekend and it may be incidental but it struck a lot of people that five years ago, 3,000 people were killed at the World Trade Center towers. And yet we have a hole in the ground. After all these years, a hole in the ground.
MAHER: Yeah. And let’s not also forget about the hole in the ground that Bush flew to on 9/11. He talks constantly about how we can’t forget 9/11. How about let’s not forget where he was on 9/11. He went to New York and Pennsylvania and Washington to commemorate rate this 9/11 five years later, he should have gone to the places where he went on 9/11. He was in Florida, and then he heard there was a attack on New York so he flew to Shreveport, Louisiana and he heard there was another plane that went down in Pennsylvania so naturally he went to Nebraska, so I think to commemorate 9/11 he should have went to Florida, Louisiana and Nebraska.

Well whaaaaah! Unless I am mistaken, his previous show was cancelled due to Americans wanting Maher to “shut up about it”. Take the hint, girlie man.
Does anyone know what Maher was doing on the day of the attack? I’ll bet he would be hard pressed to remember that if asked.
DannoJyd on September 14, 2006 at 3:42 PM
Most Americans? Billy doesn’t speak for me.
CrimsonFisted on September 14, 2006 at 3:51 PM
i used to like him when he did “Politically Incorrect” but now, he’s a liberal moron.
Starblazer on September 14, 2006 at 3:53 PM
and he certainly does not speak for me either
Starblazer on September 14, 2006 at 3:53 PM
Is it just me, or does he resemble a crotchety Mike Wallace in that photo?
Fly_in_Ointment on September 14, 2006 at 3:54 PM
What a smug smartass. And what the hell is up with his Gordon Gecko hairdo?
Where the hell was the President supposed to go during the attacks: right into them?
Get a clue, Maher, and anyone else who buys into this “Bush hid” bullshite. We knew there was an attack that day, but we didn’t know where it would happen next. It is the job of the people who guard the President to protect him. He was kept out of harms way for as long as possible, and he was back in DC later that afternoon. The way this meme floats around like an unflushed turd, you’d think GWB himself ordered AF1 to go to Shreveport, then Nebraska.

Yeah,Billy boy,you understand that when we are being attacked by a foreign entity the POTUS should fly right into the attack zones. My God what arrogant ignorance!

Shut up Maher. I hope your head turns into a hemmrhoid.

Hey, would we have won the War in the Pacific if FDR hadn’t been manning one of the 5in guns on the USS Arizona?
What if McKinley hadn’t warned Captain Sigsbee of the Maine to stay away from the bow?
Let’s join together and get Shrub out of office and return to the kind of leadership that will at last keep America safe (at least from squadrons of flying blue dresses.)

Checked your site, bbz. Nice to meet a fellow voice-over guy.

We should show pity people, the poor man wants Rosie so bad but she just won;t return his calls.
bbz123 on September 14, 2006 at 4:17 PM
Why do I get the feeling that Bill Maher is going to have a career-tanking flameout like Pat O’Brien pretty soon?
That sounds vaguely conspiratorial, which is not what I mean–I just think this dude is wound so tight and is so packed full of crazy he’s fixin’ to really lose it in an un-PC direction.
see-dubya on September 14, 2006 at 4:27 PM
As I recall many minutiae of that day, with no aim to ever forget them, large and small, one significant item was that the presidential security contingent didn’t want him to return to the WH that afternoon. The President defied them and then even slept in his own bed in the WH.
To measure courage on that day, and many which followed, among Messrs Bush 43 and Bill Maher defines relativism to perfection!
Entelechy on September 14, 2006 at 4:29 PM
I forgot that part Entelechy, that sums it up just right.
bbz123 on September 14, 2006 at 4:34 PM
Bill, if we don’t fight this enemy, some crazy eyed jihadi is gonna jam a KNIFE down your throat!
Then you’ll say “Why didn’t you stop this, Bush?” No wait, it’ll sound more like “Gye gyidn’t gyou sztob dis Gyush?”
Moron.
Tony737 on September 14, 2006 at 4:38 PM
Maher = Douchebag
Mortis on September 14, 2006 at 4:51 PM
Let’s not waste time, talk or words about this imbecile. He just shows, along with Matthews, to the country, just what wild eyed and hair guys and gals they really are. Sane, honest reasonable people will not listen. That’s the reason I don’t watch him, Matthews or Keith “Who” ever!
But, it is vitally important to get their views out to the public, just like dumb Rosie and that fatuous show.
sharinlite on September 14, 2006 at 5:00 PM
Wow, I think your wish came true prior to you having wished it.
As for the POTUS travel, we were under attack by a foriegn enemy of whom we did not know whom, how many, and where they were or if more attacks were yet coming. Air Force One was aloft for the entire day, refueling twice before landing at an Air Force Base in NE. It wasnt til much later anyone knew where the President was, not even the VP knew.
This attack was like Dec 7th, 1941, an attack against America, BUT we were hit on the CONTINENTAL U.S. this time.
Does maher forget this? I doubt it, he twists most anything to fabricate a story to his liking. All for hate.
Keeo it up Hem Head ( darwin created…no pun intended)

Oh, and I forgot, that fact with that nose! Sorry, lost my sanity there for a moment and actually looked.

“Should have went?”
Did he really say that?
Attila (Pillage Idiot) on September 14, 2006 at 5:10 PM
Bill Maherhammad should stfu.
Why do people like Maher continue to live in this country? If he hates America and our president so much, why doesn’t he pack up and move to Smellycheeseland and cheerlead for the Euro-Muslims who hate us too?
Try earning a paycheck anywhere else on this planet Bill, doing what you do for a living.
fogw on September 14, 2006 at 5:11 PM
I’d like to slap the taste out of his mouth.
Just keep it up, and get back to us after the elections.
JammieWearingFool on September 14, 2006 at 5:36 PM
Bush should have been at Ground Zero on 9/11/01? Conservatives get accused of thinking Bush is God, but apparently Maher thinks Bush is Superman.
I’ve given up trying to fight the meme of “Bill Maher got fired for saying the 9/11 attackers were brave.” It just won’t go away, even though the show wasn’t cancelled until NINE MONTHS LATER.
Jim Treacher on September 14, 2006 at 5:42 PM
Why is it a freaking outrage when NOLA mayor Nagin refers to WTC as a hole in the ground, but it goes unnoticed when Maher and Matthews do it?
I guess as long as you slam Bush, the left gives you a free pass to say anything you want.
Laura on September 14, 2006 at 5:49 PM
Well Jim his stupid comments helped the demise of his show. I don’t think it was doing that well anyway but this was the proverbial icing on the cake.
Not to take up for that idiot Nagin, Laura does have a point. Perhaps it was because that was close to the anniversary of Katrina and people had moved on to 9/11 by then. Just a thought.
Catie96706 on September 14, 2006 at 6:00 PM
So according to Maher’s logic…in order to commemorate the Khobar Towers bombing…Clinton should give Monica Lewinsky a pearl necklace.
The Ugly American on September 14, 2006 at 6:01 PM
Actually, does anyone remember Bill Maher’s 9/11? If I was interviewing him about 9/11, I’d ask him if he regrets his comments about how the hijackers were incredibly brave? Remember that stupid monologue just after 9/11? He got roasted over that. Politically Incorrect was gone not long after that either if I recall correctly.
austinnelly on September 14, 2006 at 6:02 PM
that’s gross.
pullingmyhairout on September 14, 2006 at 6:19 PM
Maher is the fella who stated on his show “that dogs are
like retarded children” since he at the time owned two dogs and was an expert to draw the comparison between mentally challenged people and their (as he thinks) counterparts…
DOGS.
The guy is an idiot, a leftist coward.

liberals like Maher / Cindy Sheehan / Alan Colmes / John Kerry / Nancy Pelosi / Jack Murtha / Ned Lamont / the ACLU / New York Times / the hollwood left / Michael Moore / Amnesty International / United Nations & Human Right groups are as dangerous as Bin Laden & Al-Qaeda & other terrorist orginaztions.

B Moe on September 14, 2006 at 7:26 PM
Well, that is all very cute but… No one was immolated in FL, LA or NB on 9/11… The secret service demanded the pres stay out of harm’s way.
Sorry to tell you Mr. Maher, but a whole bunch of people were murdered in NYC, PA and D.C. That is why the pres goes to those places on 9/11.
Regarding ground zero, I think anyone that criticizes the fact that it is still a hole in the ground has a point. Too bad that the “memorial museum” thing was hijacked by a bunch of lefties (thank you Bloomberg and Pataki). Better a hole in the ground than some lefty shrine. Actually, when I think about it, maybe a hole in the ground is a fitting memorial to those lost…
Babs on September 14, 2006 at 7:28 PM
What absolute fluff! that was so much filler I think I’m going to puke.
And about the hole in the ground…perhaps it should stay that way…then we would be forced to remember…unless, of course, some just want to forget.
Joe on September 14, 2006 at 8:21 PM
Gary, thanks for passing along the little tidbit about Maher’s comparison. I would venture a guess he doesn’t do any charitable work for the Buddy Walk or Best Buddies organization (or probably any charitable work at all). He’s an idiot and it saddens me to think that he can get away with such awful comments about wonderful little people he knows nothing about. I know there is a spot reserved for people like him in hell. I can’t understand where he gets his stupid audience from—Berkley?
Catie96706 on September 14, 2006 at 8:25 PM
austinnelly , thanks for remembering. ;o)
DannoJyd on September 14, 2006 at 9:21 PM
This putty faced freak is about a relevant to ANYTHING going on in today’s world as the nasty crap my dog left for me to clean up in the backyard this morning. I however would much rather clean up after my dog daily, for the rest of my life, then ever seeing or hearing from this idiot again!
NEMETI IN SYRACUSE on September 14, 2006 at 9:25 PM
“HBO funnyman”! I’ve got hemorrhoids that make me laugh more than Maher!
Jethro on September 14, 2006 at 9:40 PM
Jim Treacher…
Anyone with a brain knows that Bush should have had Marine One fly underneath United 93 (inverted, mind you), close enough that he could pry open the landing gear doors, climb into the gear bay and gain access to the cabin, whereupon he should have immediately proceeded to give each hijacker a Nasty Adolph before steering the plane to the site of the WTC so that he could use his “Ice Breath” to put out the fires before the collapse.
Maher is soooooo much smarter than you, if you didn’t even know that.
DaveS on September 14, 2006 at 10:49 PM
Rosie. Bill.
Maybe it’s something in the water.
the-gunslinger on September 15, 2006 at 1:13 AM
I respect Bill Maher’s right to express his opinion. After all, that’s what free speech is all about.
Now, I’ll exercise my right of free speech to express MY opinion of him:
He’s a piece of living, walking, traitorous shit.
Thankyouverrrymuch.
