Arianna said “So what?” because we need to protect America, not the world. Hasn’t that been the conservative rallying cry for years. Besides, not to minimize the tragedy, but we’ve been protecting their a*ses ever since.

Yes, that was the conservative position in the past. But even stick-in-the-mud Conservatives can learn from history. Waiting until Hitler became a world power was not a good move. We figured it out. Waiting until the Jihadists get the bomb, or WMDs, or take over Europe, or establish a national base of operations, or all of the above is not a good move.

And, sometimes, as unpleasant as it is, “protecting their a*ses” becomes a necessary part of protecting our own.

We just can’t hide between our two oceans anymore. (Nostalgic sigh)

She’s born in Greece, that bastion of socialism, educated at Cambridge/England, married conservative (opportune union), became a ‘compassionate conservative’, fought like hell for her then-husband to become a conservative Sen. of California, he lost, then ran away with a man, they divorced, she reverted back to her natural liberalism. She’s back ‘home’.

She lives a few doors from him and his ‘male-wife’ now, with their two daughters. Maybe she’s a bit scorned but politically she was a conservative fake, for expediency and lots of money, for many, many years. She’s trying to ‘repent’ for her political guilt now.
