It isn’t a new idea. Getting out of the bad weather that is.

But I will remember the last time and I was told to pleeeeease be patient. And so I shall, as I obsesively check back every 30 seconds….

I could be wrong, but it just doesn’t invoke the emotional response in me that indicates it is some antiwar themed project.

It is hard to explain, but there it is.

I mean, JC Christian is a left wing guy who parodys the right. He is a jackass, and seems to substitute meaness for comedy, but I “get” what he is saying. I don’t like it, but I get it.

But this? It just doesn’t feel the same. If anything, you kinda feel good or amused by half of the images. The “Ghetto prom” for one. Or the “Men in fishnets.” It kinda makes you laugh, not understand why they “hate” us.

I mean, how could a lefty say that they hate us because of some aspect of black culture? Or because of some sort of gender bending man? That would imply that there is something wrong with that, and no lefty is going to come out and say that. Heck, they are always accusing us of hating black people and homosexuals because we are “racist” and “homophobic.” Plus, as AP noted, Wackeys? Who gets worked up over wackeys as a cause of the “hate”?

But I could be wrong. That Fix It link does seem to indicate that it really could be some left wing photo montage. But if it is, then I REALLY don’t get where they are coming from.

This things has me very confused. I feel like Alice, tumbling down the rabbit hole…* Is it serious? A parody? A parody of a parody? Arrgh!

WhyTheyHate.Us is a participatory web photo project using images submitted to Flickr, a popular photo hosting site. The images are chosen at random from uploaded photos tagged “whytheyhateus”.

The images displayed on the site are not curated, edited, or censored. Anyone can contribute any image to the dialog and eventually every image will be shown in the random display.

When are these idiots gonna realize that it doesn’t matter WHY they hate us? The only thing that matters is that we will be dead or worshipping Mohammad unless we start taking these islamopsychos seriously.

In other words: a paean to freedom.

The images are automatically gathered from flickr though, so some irrelevant ones are bound to show up. The intent, of course, is fairly generic anti-war rhetoric from a fairly generic art student.

To me, it seems like a parody of all the left wing hand wringing of “why do they hate us?”
