God help us, indeed. Is there any precedent for a major political party collectively going completely insane? Or at least one that won’t cause anyone to invoke Godwin’s Law?

Pablo on September 8, 2006 at 10:08 AM

I still can’t believe that Cheney got away with blowing up the twin towers and starting 2 wars just so he could make his friends at Haliburton richer. He’s so deliciously evil!

(heh)

Kevin M on September 8, 2006 at 10:11 AM

Michelle should be in charge of the national ads for the Republican Party going into the Fall elections! She is much more effective than the Republican strategists now on board who seem to believe the campaigns are won by being polite and pulling punches about the treasonous nature of much of the Democratic Party.

ptolemy on September 8, 2006 at 10:28 AM

it’s going to be a sad day come Nov.7th in U.S. History if the liberal Democrats come into power in the Senate / House & even the presidency in 2008. Be very very afraid.this use to be a great country untill the liberals screwed it up for the rest of us.

Starblazer on September 8, 2006 at 10:33 AM

Why shouldn’t the left go to great lengths of contorted logic to come up with another conspiracy theory about 9/11? They do it with everything else. CIA started the crack epidemic. Trilateral commission. The plethora of JFK conspiracy theories. Ronald Reagan developed AIDS to wipe out the homos. It just goes on and on. These folks all need rabies shots.

pistolero on September 8, 2006 at 10:34 AM

Great vent, keep this stuff on the front burner. Absolutley scary thought regarding the Dem Deniers taking charge. Hope and Pray sanity reigns in November.

Sacwannabe on September 8, 2006 at 10:34 AM

Wow! “9/11 deniers.” The latest Liberal Political Action Committee. The delusional Dems don’t seem to be able to comprehend the sheer lunacy of their views.

The good news is that along with being whackos, these deniers and their fellow travelers are also preeminent wimps and/or pussies. Take your pick.

So if it becomes necessary, for the good of the Country, some well applied “Bitch Slapping” should easily handle the situation, if you get my drift.

there it is on September 8, 2006 at 10:37 AM

also this is why i hate liberals so much. the “true” americans who do care about this country are as follwed – Michelle Malkin / Ann Coulter / Sean Hannity / Bill O’Reilly & John Gibson.

Starblazer on September 8, 2006 at 10:37 AM

Great Vent. I am very afraid about this coming election, and the Presidential election in 08. These people are insane, and are going to hand ourselves over to whomever wants to kill us.

StephC on September 8, 2006 at 10:43 AM

Great job as usual.

High Desert Wanderer on September 8, 2006 at 10:48 AM

Hope and Pray sanity reigns in November.

Hoping and praying is really good, but it won’t win elections. VOTING is the only way to do that. I challenge everyone on this site to find 5 friends who don’t regularly vote, encourage them to register and VOTE Republican in November.

we can start our own “get out the vote” campaign.

pullingmyhairout on September 8, 2006 at 11:11 AM

why is anyone suprised at the conspiracy theories? there are people who also believe the moon landing was faked.

pullingmyhairout on September 8, 2006 at 11:12 AM

“Creeping Dimentia”.

Indeed.

Lawrence on September 8, 2006 at 11:15 AM

Over at the DU, the tinfoil people are looking forward to taking control of Congress because after they impeach Bush, they now want to “investigate” Disney and ABC to see if Halliburton is running them.

Insanity is becomming synonymous with “liberal progressive”

NRA4Freedom on September 8, 2006 at 11:24 AM

I wonder if ABC is going to have the courage to tap the goldmine in DVD sales of a “Director’s Cut” version of their 9/11 film?

You can almost understand where the Dems and the Kossacks are coming from. If everything is true then there are people in the world who want to hurt them – even kill them and there’s nothing they can do about it. Well, except fight which pretty much means there’s nothing they can do. If, however, it’s not true, if it was really the CIA or Dick Cheney or Pizza Hut, well then there is something they can do. They just need to get the ‘right’ people in charge and they’ll magically tell the bad people to stop being so scary.

Thus they must believe the conspiracy theories and all the rest.

KCSteve on September 8, 2006 at 11:42 AM

Another Great Vent Michelle!

You have made it clear Hot Air is not “MMTV”, but couldn’t you get a clone to help out? (lol) Your reporting is of a caliber that is exceptional. Pertinent information, presented in a clear and and interesting manner, and with reference to substantiate your points. Perhaps we will see you on a major news staff, such as FOX – I would surely watch – even the commercials (especially if your clips were posted on Hot Air).

What does that say about the United States, especially the “Left Coast” and the Northeast, if the Moonbats elect “Chamberlain Left” representatives? The way things are moving perhaps even Cindy Sheehan will be in Congress (Shudder, Ugh!).

Of course so many here at Hot Air see the threat of the Islamofacist and the Reconquista, but it makes me feel like many British must have felt as they saw Chamberlain elected and his actions with Hitler. What could they do?

Even though they were right their voices were overridden by Pacifists who do not understand Human nature and history, or are in a state of denial. There will always be another Gengis Khan, Napoleon, Hitler, Pol Pot, and Saddam – and the issue is to contain or eleminate such a threat.

The Chamberlain Left and Moonbat does not understand this element of human nature. They have no concept of the sacra\ifice so many others have made so that they may voice their appeasement and sedition.

omegaram on September 8, 2006 at 12:33 PM

Which is evident by the media pushing this loosechange and 9/11 Truther garbage down everyone’s throats to the point that … people are actually starting to believe it.

Seriously, this stuff is scarry. We have major party in our country that has

1) Tried to over throw an election using the courts
2) Tried to garner support for impeachment of the commander in chief during a war
3) Used the medai to try and convince the American people that our own government is responsible for a terrorist massacre on our own soil
4) Tried to stifle the open expression of all oposition from Christians who opposed gay marriage to anyone who won’t buy into their 9/11 conspiracy theories.

All of this just to take back control of what they lost. If they can’t win it by giving the people what they want they’ll take it by force and make the people want what they give.

Sounds more and more like a communist regime every day.

If you consider that every Communist dictatorship has absolute control over the information within it’s community and consider that the dems have taken over the media and are force feeding the population what they want them to hear and then consider that they bully, stifle, and censor anyone who puts out anything that MIGHT make them lookand THEN consider that they try and use the legal system to shut down anyone who runs against them

You might think they ought to change their party name for the sake of Truth in advertising. I think the communist party probably fits better.

One Angry Christian on September 8, 2006 at 12:52 PM

I used to tell my students in US Government, that if you didn’t vote (once you hit 18), then you can’t complain. If I was still teaching I guess I’d have to come up with a new slogan. I do know that more often than not the kids are bombarded with “Dims are good”, “Dims care about people” and other mantras.

Catie96706 on September 8, 2006 at 1:15 PM

During the period leading up to the 1862 elections, in fact the entire political climate of the day, so closely parallels what’s going on today it unbelievable and downright frightening!!!

Needless to say, but I’ll say it anyway, after the Peace Democrats (Copperheads) and the NY Times did everything they could to destroy the creditability of the Republican Administration in power, in the 1862 elections, despite some losses, the Republican Party held on to both houses of Congress and two years later they had won the war, re-elected Lincoln (a Republican running on the Union Party Ticket) and kicked the Copperhead’s asses!

So, learn from history and stay tuned!!!!!!

But just in case, keep your powder dry!!!!

Dread Pirate Roberts VI on September 8, 2006 at 1:35 PM

It almost makes me cry, that our own citizens, leaders voted in by other people of our country, can be so obtuse, so belligerent to allow hate to drive them absolutely.
It saddens me greatly. I’ve been to a couple dozen countries and have quite literally kissed the ground I first touched upon returning to America. These folks, the Libs and Dems, the haters, filled with evil, are destroying this country from with-in. I really can NOT believe the lies and deceit being spouted about with-out remorse.

Someone suggested prayer. I agree 100%. IF you PRAY, start now and do not stop until the votes have been counted, all of them, chad included.( well personally you might want to keep going)
The hate has to be battled and defeated. We are at war in more ways than one.

Its weird feeling so proud to be an American, yet so embarrassed of some fellow “Americans”, i.e. Murtha, Pelosi, Dean, Kennedy, Kerry, the list goes on and on…..

Remember after the hugely successful elections held in Iraq? How great that news could have been? The very first thing Pelosi does is to call a meeting to decide how they can publicly dismiss the GOOD out of the accomplishments. An attempt to ruin good. Simple yet powerful word – GOOD. Like Ann Coulter was saying, they don’t even care about the title of her book, that they are Godless, they just dont like a paragraph or two.
They are just EVIL. Plain and simple. Evil. We must stop them…………….And Pray.

One Angry Christian on September 8, 2006 at 2:52 PM

My point as well, the evil has metastacized into many forms in many peoples.
Noticed in your line above:

All of this just to take back control of what they lost. If they can’t win it by giving the people what they want they’ll take it by force and make the people want what they give.

You said it seemed ‘communistic’ and I agree, but-
….look at it like this: reading it alone in todays events, it sounds IDENTICAL to the Islamafascists/terrorists mantra.

shooter on September 8, 2006 at 3:18 PM

As always MM, timely and responsible analysis!
It boggles the mind that it is entirely possible there could be IMPEACHMENT hearings while our brave troops are deployed. I guess we cant really do a protest vote this year. There is simply too much to lose!

labwrs on September 8, 2006 at 4:01 PM

Most of you sound/are depressed about Nov. 7, 2006. Snap out of it and vote and mobilize all you know to be of your persuasion to do the same. There are more red/purple voters in the U.S. than reds. Also, they’re not quite as stupid and suicidal!

At this point ABC can cancel the docu-drama. The damage to the Left is done. The Right is galvanized. Mr. Clinton did for the Right, what Messrs Rove, Mehlman and Bush couldn’t do, and Mr. Reid topped it off.

Mr. Bush might speak during that time slot anyway.

Now, go do your part – I will too!

The votes are counted on Nov. 7 and not in the polls, by the complicit media and the inane speeches, by inane politicians, on both sides, and by the pundits.

God help us, indeed. Is there any precedent for a major political party collectively going completely insane

Of course. In Germany, in the 1930s. They, too demanded an end of works they deemed critical, impeded the expression of other ideas, tolerated nothing but the Party line among their own, blamed the controlling party for all ills that befell the country and said they were the party of the workers.

Mike O on September 8, 2006 at 9:24 PM

You know what’s sad? If the Democrats do return to power, in part it will because of people like my parents, who will vote for every name on the ballot which is followed by a (D). If Ahmadenejad were running for Rabbi-and he was a (D), he would have their vote. I’m sure that there are Republicans who do the same. There are many good Democrats who look at who has taken over their Party, shake their heads and vote Republican in the privacy of the booth. Especially Democrats who have benefited from our strong economy, and know that no matter what their ‘leadership’ may continue to bray, Republicans and George Bush have lead the fight to defend our country against terrorists.
Many of those Democrats may have voted for President Bush in 2004, and as they look at the agenda set out by the Democratic leaders, they may very well vote Republican again two months from now. They don’t want to see their way of life disapear just because their leadership can’t even bring itself to admit that Islam is evil. Any Steelworker in Ohio who has been a Labor Democrat all of his life knows that peoples heads don’t fall off by accident. Muslims beheading someone for not believing in Allah is pure evil. And when the Democrats realize, “Hey, wait a minute! I don’t believe in Allah!” he knows who not to trust with his vote.

Doug on September 9, 2006 at 1:26 AM

I totally agree with Michelle. There is a lot of mismanagement on the GOP side but look at the alternative. God help us if the crazy Dem left gets security control and begins the program of appeasement. Look at Israel, voted in a leftists appeasing govt. in and got incoming missiles from all sides in return.

Reality Check on September 9, 2006 at 10:21 AM

I recently met MM in DC. It was the first time I had seen her in person and I was barely able to comprehend how a woman of such diminutive stature could wield such power! I hereby nominate myself to be President of the MM Fan Club.

netherman79 on September 9, 2006 at 1:16 PM

Doug,
I also have devout Catholic relatives who would vote for Hitler, the devil, Ted Kennedy, or John Kerry as long as they run as democrats. Depression era childhoods and inherited policical opinions. That’s the only guess I have at why people do these things.
Please Michelle, help the Republicans. I do my part by referring everyone I know to hotair.com. It goes out in all of my emails. Everyone should do the same.

wcarr on September 9, 2006 at 3:36 PM

netherman79, you lucky dog! I envy you.
However, as the husband of a smart, ‘diminutive’ woman of Asian descent (mine is Chinese), I can readily attest that they are not to be messed with, intellectually or otherwise.

Mike O on September 9, 2006 at 5:26 PM

wcarr, the Republican leadership needs to start by helping themselves; kill the earmarks, get serious about border security and stay tough an all aspects of the war on terror, including Iran (which should have smoking holes in the ground by now where their centrifuges were).

Mike O on September 9, 2006 at 5:30 PM

Hi All

I’ve been working with the producer of “The Path to 9/11″ over the last week or so to fend off the Clintonistas. I’ve previewed the entire series and have access to the DVDs. One of the scenes in question is detailed in “Dereliction of Duty.” Should ABC decide to cut/change that particular scene, you can bet I’ll provide the original (which is 100% accurate).

The movie makes the Bush administration look almost as bad. Its not a Clinton hit piece. In fact, it protects him and puts the onus on Berger.

Buzz Patterson

buzzpat on September 10, 2006 at 2:12 PM

Am I being cynical when I think that ABC LOVES all the attention their docu-drama is getting? Nothing like a bit of controversy to get people watching.

As the Democrats are very thin skinned about how they are being portrayed, can you imagine how they would react if they were to face even 1/10000 of all of the hate and vitriol they have been spewing at President Bush for 6 years? The dish it out by the semi-trailer load, but can’t handle even a half a teaspoon of criticism themselves. Who could trust them to stand up to the threats leveled against our country? Their greatest shining light, WJ Clinton, did all he could for 8 years to pretend that Islamic terrorists didn’t exist. And to some extent, they are still pretending.
Watch the show tonight and tomorrow, decide how fairly all sides are represented. I haven’t heard any Muslims complaining about it yet.

Correction to the quote, just above this -

s/b “There are more red/purple voters in the U.S. than blues.

Also, a good place to state that the “Path to 9/11″ debacle has reminded the Independents how precarious their rights would be under Pelosi/Reid. 1st Amendment on quicksand? We don’t think so, and we won’t forget btw. now and Nov. 7

Entelechy on September 10, 2006 at 10:11 PM

It seemed more evenhanded than the smear job Democrats were making it out to be. Overall, I think it is good.
