ABC cancels “Path to 9/11″ web ads? Update: Lefties squat on “Path” domain name

Sure looks that way. Krempasky thinks maybe they’re not cancelling the program altogether, just pushing it back a few weeks, but why would they do that? Unless the edits are extensive, they might as well cash in on the controversy and 9/11 anniversary and air it as scheduled.
Of course, they could just pull it altogether. Would we better off? JPod’s seen it and calls it “a stiff” while the Chicago Tribune’s TV critic labels it “the most anticlimactic, tension-free movie in the history of terrorist TV” and, for good measure, “the dullest, worst-shot TV movie since ABC’s disastrous ‘Ten Commandments’ remake.” If you’re wondering what political page he’s on, this might clue you in:
Look, there’s a security guard yawning while terrorists plant the 1993 bomb at the World Trade Center. How dare a security guard work while tired.
Oh, hey, there’s an airline agent checking in a 9/11 terrorist even though he has a carry-on bag. Stupid airline agents.
Excuse us all, writer Cyrus Nowrasteh and director David L. Cunningham, for not acting like Hitler Youth in the glory days before ordinary Americans knew commercial planes could be turned into missiles.
Idiots.
The Times thought it was fair and balanced, though, which pretty much confirms Time magazine’s assessment yesterday that the program’s much harder on Bush than on Clinton.
Elsewhere, an ABC News team recently purchased 1,000 pounds of explosives and smuggled it within a half mile of the White House. They really are trying to win the lefties over, aren’t they?
Update: Pull the miniseries, threaten ABC, snap up domain names that might be confused with the film’s website and redirect them to the DNC webpage.
We’re dealing with five-year-olds.
Update: Clinton on truth.

I don’t think they need ads at this point.

I seriously doubt that left wing slug network has the guts to broadcast “Path to 9/11″. I’m sure they’ll cave to the threats and intimidation being generated by their leftist buddies and the Clintonistas.
rplat on September 8, 2006 at 3:42 PM
If this is pulled, the Clintonistas and the DEM’s will look guilty on charged on the American Street! I smell Rove!!!!

Don’t use Faux or Ace will call you a left leaning Liberal.
“Who says “Faux” News except for left-liberals?”, Ace.

There’s a defilnition of “ABC” on Michelle’s home page that lists its meaning as “Altered By Clinton”. Very appropriate but a sad commentary for the so called “free” press.

At this point they can cancel the docu-drama. The damage to the Left is done. The Right is galvanized. Mr. Clinton did for the Right, what Messrs Rove, Mehlman and Bush couldn’t do, and Mr. Reid topped it off.
Mr. Bush might speak during the time slot anyway.

Is there any chance that ABC is plowing ahead with the broadcast, and that the massive ad cancellation is Disney’s way of giving the Dem leadership and their nutroots masters a big “vaffanculo”?
I don’t own a website, so I can’t say for sure.

So,where is the Republican outrage over this production showing Bush in a bad light? This is where the money shot is,if the Dems go apeshot and get it pulled but the Repubs let the bad stuff stay in w/o any complaint, then there you go.

Re: the ABC explosives stunt, they’ve done this sort of thing before. A couple/few years ago, they obtained some radioactive material and smuggled it through several countries. It is useful to alert people to weaknesses in our system, but I’m not real fond of the terrorist how-to stories, especially when they involve the White House.

Can you spell backlash?
Oh please … OH PLEASE!!!

You’re being unfair to five-year-olds.
Bryan on September 8, 2006 at 4:44 PM
Call me crazy, but I think this thing’s going to air as scheduled. $40 million is a big matzo ball to swallow, even on Bubba’s say so (not counting lost ad revenue or loss of face, for that matter).
Kid from Brooklyn on September 8, 2006 at 4:44 PM
I’m with Bryan, what have five year olds done to you?
d1carter on September 8, 2006 at 4:57 PM
Good job Robin, Charles. I can’t belive they redirected the domain names.

Where’s the betting pool on You Tube broadcast dates? I say it’s on the intertubes in under a week. Any one betting less time?

Three business days.

I am a dumb ass. Apparently there is a Fox News pun that the lefties use. “Faux News”. I didn’t get what Ace was raging on me about. To much work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.
Rustyw on September 8, 2006 at 6:15 PM
President Bush wants film to be interrupted by his speech. ABC will do what now? Why this tactic?
Entelechy on September 8, 2006 at 6:28 PM
I don’t think the left comes off all that damaged by this. Half the country can’t walk and chew bubble gum and buy into this 3 year mantra of the culture of corruption, hollyweird isn’t a part of the dim party, Republicans are mean, etc. I feel that somehow, someway they’re going to come out smelling like roses even though they’re on the sh*t pile.
Catie96706 on September 8, 2006 at 7:04 PM
Luckily, Catie, some of the the hollyweird-following crowd also can’t VOTE and chew bubblegum. That’s where we come in. Sure, the media will douse them in rose water, but (God willing) we’ll be able to douse their “chimpeachment” circle jerk at the polls.

EXACTAMUNDO !
If they had shut up about the whole thing, no one would have even seen the damn thing.
shooter on September 8, 2006 at 8:52 PM
Did I mis-spell “Hollyweird” in my post on a different thread?

As far as the liberal Google misdirection goes, I consider that to be a good thing.
I believe that when the democrats get out their message is when they lose elections, and I am also certain that Google users will not appreciate being sent to the DNC website.
If I knew how to do it, I would cause people searching Google to be sent to the Democratic Underground, and affiliated web sites. Well, maybe not as I wouldn’t want to be accused of torture.
