He insists there’s no timetable for withdrawal, but the Sun begs to differ.

If you’re not sure what he means when he refers to the Labour Party’s difficulties this past week, this’ll get you caught up right quick.

That is the worst news I’ve heard this week.

I met his wife once, lovely woman. Who is that fellow who has supposedly been holding Blair’s water while he was PM with the expectation that his turn was coming? Don’t seem to hear about him anymore.

…we can’t treat the country as irrelevant bystanders..

Who is that fellow who has supposedly been holding Blair’s water (???) while he was PM with the expectation that his turn was coming?

Now here is a commenter with a profound understanding of the workings of the government of our closest ally. His name is Gordon Brown, he is the chancellor of the exchequer.

The position is considered one of the four great offices of state and in recent times has come to be the most powerful office in British politics after the Prime Ministership.

The only good thing I have to say about Tony Blair, not that I care, because hey, he isn’t american, is that he continued the fiscal policy of the conservatives that preceded him. Labour shmabour.

Oh please, you make me blush.

Will they remove all British troops from Iraq once he’s gone?

I think the country was leaning towards going down the drain for a bit, but it’s tilting even further closer to a dive. If his successor is some Anti-War person who can’t grasp who the true enemy is, then that country’s diving. How fast will depend if the person is just one whom misunderstands the world view but has some sense, or, worse-but-possible, closer to a “9/11 Truther” (which I hope not).

In any case though, it’s bad news, because at least Tony Blair had gotten the War on Terror right, recognizing the enemy as Islamofascism/terrorists/what-have-you and assisting us in qwashing the enemy and setting up a stable democracy in Iraq.
