Seemed interesting, Michelle, but I kinda lost focus after the shot of the “Miller Girls.” Sorry.

BrunoMitchell on September 7, 2006 at 9:35 AM

Instead of shut up and sing…

Rich on September 7, 2006 at 9:36 AM

Damn, I like Miller Lite, but no more! Looks like Mich Ultra for me.

Isn’t Miller owned by a British or South African Group? What part have they played in this?

dallas94 on September 7, 2006 at 9:39 AM

I’ll take the heels over lite. Great blog from the beautiful MM

Wade on September 7, 2006 at 9:40 AM

sooooooooo depressing. i can’t relive my college days by overloading on miller lite. rats. What AM i to drink on Saturday night while watching the UT/Ohio State game??? UT and Miller Lite – they just GO together… what a loss.

pullingmyhairout on September 7, 2006 at 9:44 AM

btw, I love those shoes, Michelle.

pullingmyhairout on September 7, 2006 at 9:44 AM

Shouldn’t that can you crushed have been full instead of empty? Maybe the camera guy couldn’t control himself and popped the top on the thing before you got finished with the vent?

NRA4Freedom on September 7, 2006 at 9:46 AM

Let them know how you feel.

I did, but sorry MM, if those Miller Girls show up at my house, I’m flippin’ like Kerry!

Guess I’ll have to…um…continue my Miller ban by drinking a real beer like Guinness.

Gettin’ dizzy from the spin, again.

It’s funny, kind of sad, but still funny watching these media spokes-mouths dance.

Spin Miller Spin. Whheeeee….

Lawrence on September 7, 2006 at 9:58 AM

Can we get a link pointing to evidence of Miller’s support of illegal immigration?

There’s none to be found in the links provided.

Mark Jaquith on September 7, 2006 at 10:17 AM

Crushing a beer can in heels? That is a cool trick. No problem on this boycott for me; I’ve always hated that beer. Bad aftertaste in a watery beer? What’s your base for this crap Miller? Urine? As to UT and miller beer, you must have been on the internet program. If you were a real longhorn and real texan, you’d know that Shiner is the true beer of the UT campus. Save that watery, namby pamby dishwater for your frat row keg partys. This is the kind of rant I really enjoy. I like seeing a weasel company trying to play both sides get hoisted up and smacked around. The fact that I never liked their product just makes it all that much sweeter. Cheers Michelle.

austinnelly on September 7, 2006 at 10:17 AM

You can sign a petition here. Although there are a lot of clown corporations supporting illegals, we really need to crush these guys like the Lite can to make an example of them for deterrence.

Valiant on September 7, 2006 at 10:26 AM

Good Vent – here’s hoping that Miller takes it in the pocketbook on this one. (And Michelle is better looking that the miller babes anyway – more then just a pretty face :)

Don’t forget Bank of America (I’m closing my account with them) – they give ‘free’ remittance of funds to Mexico (while charging me $45 a pop to send to my in-laws in the Philippines)

Miller beer only shows that beer is nothing more then yeast pee anyway :).

CrazyFool on September 7, 2006 at 10:33 AM

Can someone point me to the list of beers that are brewed under the Miller label? Isn’t Fosters one of them? I want to make sure to boycot the entire line.

-FormerlyFatOldGuy

and oh yeah, great vent MM, but upon seeing the high-heels vs. beer can, I now have that JohnCougarMellonhead song going round and round in my brain .. hurts so-oo good, c’mon baby make it hurt so good ..

While Miller is welcome @ Kent State, wacademic moonbats have other plans for military recruiters tomorrow;

Hey military, get out of Kent State
Chris Kok (sucker)

Tomorrow, the All Campus Programming Board will be having its Black Squirrel Festival. There will be food, music, vendors and tables for student organizations. But among all the fun and excitement, there will be a dark and menacing presence: the military.
—–
Students should not have to put up with the predatory actions of military recruiters. We have come here to get an education, not to be duped into joining an imperialist war. So, if you want the military off campus, join the counter-recruitment. Let’s make this the worst recruiting day the military has experienced.

They’ll have to set the bar pretty high to top UC-Santa Cruz.

Expect to see moonbattery worthy of Rolling Stone.

American macro-brewers make crap beer anyways, support you local micro-brewer and drink a real beer.

Here is a list of Miller’s beer,
http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/105 .

harmonica on September 7, 2006 at 11:13 AM

Miller should have told the open borders, pro-amnesty advocacy groups that it supported Sensibrenner because of his pro-business attitudes and his power in Congress; therefore, it was not going to disavow its donation just because a particular group did not like Sensibrenner’s stand on an issue of no concern to Miller as a corporation. Having not done this, but instead in pandering to these hate-American, pro-Mexican groups, Miller has really stepped into it.

Hopefully, Miller’s experience will teach corporations to stay out of political issues not of immediate concern to the running of the companies, especially resisting attempts at blackmail and intimidation. Jessie Jackson would never have become the sinister force he is if only companies had “just said no” to his outrageous blackmail gambits.

ptolemy on September 7, 2006 at 11:17 AM

Well I have never really been a fan of Miller products, or for that fact American beers. Sorry spoiled on some of that good german beer.
Nonetheless, the company is trying to pull a fast one on the public and is only motivated by money, not the ethical focus on the matter. That is what is the correct thing to do. Follow the law, or aide in those breaking it. As an immigrant myself(American with premenant residency), I have followed all the perscribed laws to be in this country legally. Other countries expect this of those residing in their borders, why should the US not too. The problem is simple, there are those that wish and have a profound desire to see the US to be a defunct, if not a pupet nation divided amongst others. This is but just one fight we as americans have on our hands.

The companies with such pull and deep pockets as miller ought understand that is has been America that supported them and not other nations. We made them, and like a spoiled brat, they need a good long walk behind the wood shed.

As I don’t drink alcohol, I have to expand the boycott in other ways. Does Miller sponser a NASCAR team? Letters there to that team may get noticed. Will Miller be a sponsor in other sports? If you see Miller ads, complain, to the MLB,NFL or whomever. TV ads? Let the network know how you feel about a sponsor of their programs sponsoring anti-American demonstrations.

Unpatriotic Squirels

Rich on September 7, 2006 at 11:30 AM

If they keep it up, Miller will be brewing “the beer that Americans won’t drink.”

How many takes til you got the can crush? I noticed the left foot on the can in the wide shot and the right one in the closeup. Let’s see the out-takes!

jdpaz on September 7, 2006 at 11:32 AM

jdpaz on September 7, 2006 at 11:35 AM

Great Vent again Michelle – you are absolutely GOLDEN on the issue of illegal immigration. Keep up the good work and keep shining the spotlight on the pro-illegal supporters.

But now, the $64K question – what did you do with the beer that was in the can? Don’t try to tell us you simply poured it out …

thirteen28 on September 7, 2006 at 11:40 AM

You’re too sharp, jdpaz. I was hoping no one would notice the foot switch ;)

Dread Pirate Roberts VI on September 7, 2006 at 11:55 AM

Great Vent Michelle! Your vents are so well done – clear issues supported by verifiable references that are indicated in your vent. So well presented with a touch of humor. No wonder we are spoiled!

A great idea showing us corporate sponsors behind the illegl alien reconquista. I, and probably others, make a note of these sponsors and remember that preference for a long time. Those preferences, supported by objection to such actions by Miller on important issues, last for years.

Please show us more of the corporate sponsors of the reconquista and the Islamofacist.

omegaram on September 7, 2006 at 12:10 PM

Doug,

At the risk of revealing my redneck side, Miller sponsors the #2 Nextel Cup car driven by Kurt Busch. How’s that for irony?

GenFX on September 7, 2006 at 1:39 PM

Miller? That light stuff they sell is beer? You could have fooled me.

There are hundreds of brands out there to choose from in every shade from light gold to near black. Why limit yourself to a single choice, and a bad one at that?

Hell, like ‘harmonica’ said; If you like REAL beer, support your local micro! Example – Take home a growler (64oz. container of beer in amazing varieties) or other container from places like Duclaw (Baltimore/Washington) Heartland Brewery (New York) Brooklyn Brewery (New York) or anyone of the ones in YOUR area.

(Hey…That sounds like a project…Does anyone have a list of their locals, or the ones they’ve tripped over in their travels? Let’s give Miller and the rest of the ‘proselytize-now, deny-later’ something to REALLY think about. The good stuuf is out there. Share it with your friends.)

52Ranger on September 7, 2006 at 1:42 PM

I was logging in to say: “Hey, those are really nice shoes, Michelle!”, but was then disappointed to see that so many others have already made that comment. Nevertheless, I mean it from the bottom of my heart. Great shoes … and feet!

MoonbatMedia on September 7, 2006 at 1:44 PM

The Miller that’s in my fridge (purchased before I heard about their corporate sponsorship of Serf Labor) will be the last.

I’ve supported Miller over the years, but no more. They’ll never get another cent from me.

Dave Shay on September 7, 2006 at 1:48 PM

well, i couldn’t afford shiner and miller lite is cheap. and yes, i am a REAL longhorn. I’ve already had my blood transfusion to take out the red blood and put in burnt orange.

hook ‘em

pullingmyhairout on September 7, 2006 at 1:49 PM

oh, and btw, I was at UT so long ago that only a sprinkling of friends had personal computers, (we had to boot up with a DOS disk) much less internet. ‘ol michael dell was just starting to sell the big hunkers out of his dorm room.

Anyway, our favorite beer was Miller Lite – and it does taste like pi** water (so they say…) and I’m allowed to reminisce for my college daze…

pullingmyhairout on September 7, 2006 at 1:52 PM

Why can’t I get the sight of those shoes out of my head? Or those toes! BTW, some glossy, dark red polish on the toenails would be peachy! What’s that? No time? I volunteer with no charge!

For some reason, I had a retro flashback at the end of this VENT…

Raise your hands if you can hear (or would LIKE to) the sound of Michele in the background saying, “Are you ready, boots? Start Walkin’!”

Jeez. . .Michelle’s high heels, Bethany’s wink. My Thursday afternoon’s pretty much shot. What’s next? The InstaWife modeling a t-shirt for some obscure rock band. . .like Ken Layne and the Corvids?

withoutfeathers,

You beat me to it. I was going to say foot fetishism might be worth taking up.

BTW, is your moniker a nod to Woody Allen?

mikeyboss on September 7, 2006 at 3:47 PM

I’d add my two cents’ worth to the “Admirers of Michelle’s er, shoes” fan club, but I’d just be piling on at this point.

As for Miller… never drank the stuff much; it doesn’t taste that great to begin with, and its, uh, enhanced diuretic properties made it more of an inconvenience than anything else.

Really, though, a company stupid enough to use “Flavor Flave” in its advertising is probably stupid enough to pander to illegal aliens, and stupid enough to think that we’re all stupid enough to fall for its dissembling when it gets caught. “Yeah, boy!!”

Spurius Ligustinus on September 7, 2006 at 4:03 PM

Don’t paint those toenails, Michelle. You look really classy in natural.

Miller Caught on Video

ScottyDog on September 7, 2006 at 4:17 PM

We live in difficult times.

Since the Miller brewhaha hit the fan, I haven’t had a Foster’s.. much less a beer.

One good thing, my water bill will probably drop significantly next month as a result of less ‘loo usage.

normsrevenge on September 7, 2006 at 4:52 PM

I’ve signed the petition, refused Miller at 2 local bars, and shall spread the word of their ILLEGAL actions.

Thanks for the heads up, Michelle.

Cream Ale

Use as much water as possible.

Bring water to boil. Add one can extra light extract and 2 pounds extra light dry malt extract and 1 oz Pearl hops. boil for 1 hour.

10 minutes before the end of boil add one-half ounce Mount Hood hops.

Turn off heat, add 1/2 ounce Mount Hood hops and steep with lid on for 15 minutes.

Give pot an ice bath.
Strain into the fermenter and add cold water and top off to 5 gal. Add yeast when cool Put in a place 68 to 72 degrees. Ferment to completion seven to ten days.

Bottle with three-quarters of a cup corn sugar dissolved in one cup of water added to the entire batch.

BEER should be carbonated in one week but will improve with 2 to three weeks aging.

pullingmyhairout: As I said in my post, I’ve never liked Miller Lite; I’ve been a beer snob since I was legal to drink…your mention of college days reminded me of a funny story. A good friend of mine, an even bigger beer snob than me (he won’t drink ANY american beer) was going to UT at the same time I was. He was rooming with his younger brother in an apartment on the drag, just down from the co-op. Anyway, they were walking home from Conan’s one night and they see a couple of guys from their building taking beer out of a miller van they had broken into. They gave my friend and his brother six cases for not squealing on them. Although David (my friend) hates to admit it, he enjoyed helping his brother polish off those cases. Free beer is free beer. Here’s hoping our new quarterback will be a Colt .45 against the Buckeyes rather than a ‘Fall Guy’. If he stinks it up against Ohio, just remember who coined the nickname. Either way it falls, all I can say..is Hook ‘em.
