WaPo: Do warblogs cause Wahhabism?

Of course they do. It’s the Iraq debate writ small: confronting fundamentalists only makes the problem worse. Much better to politely ignore the problem.

That’s what our modern day Churchill, Keith Olbermann, would do.

The next time they foil a terror plot here, remember who’s really to blame: Charles Johnson.

[A]lthough Salafi Muslims are more isolated now, some scholars say their approach to Islam could become more appealing in response to increasingly negative views of Muslims among Americans and vitriolic Islam-bashing on the Internet.

“Salafi teachings begin to be more attractive to more Muslims as a defensive response,” said Peter Mandaville, an assistant professor in George Mason University’s Public and International Affairs Department. “In the face of this new global war on Islam, they are saying, we will hold fast and emphasize anew the fundamental tenets of our faith.”

That whole article’s worth reading, but if you’re strapped for time, read page 1 and the section entitled “A Separate Community” beginning on page 4. Why, they’re just like the Amish!

For an example of genuine Muslim-bashing, see the Times’s own piece today about Muslim integration in America. Pathetic:

On a hot July night, a few dozen Somali men were kneeling shoulder to shoulder in prayer at a storefront mosque here when the door opened and the frozen head of a pig, an animal considered unclean in Islam, rolled across the floor…

Mr. Matthews, 33, said that the incident was a prank and that he did not know the significance of a pig’s head…

At the hearing Mr. Matthews said that he had planned to put the head outside “where the dark people congregate” as a joke, and that it had slipped from his hand and rolled inside.

That’s like the Klan saying they didn’t mean to light that cross on fire — the matches just “slipped.”

Finally, here’s a report from Swedish TV about integration in the city of Malmo. It’s short but vivid enough to make clear that the problems France is having with its cites aren’t confined to that country.

Update: You’ve got to be kidding.

I know you were sarc. AP.

Our day’s Neville Chamberlain, KO, would recommend leaving Hitler, Stalin, Mao, the KKK and a wasps’ nest in his own bed alone. Wussitude and a true World leader!

It takes gall or chutzpah to have such small brains and act like Gullivers. One has to credit these minions with this much…

How can they talk about the Al-Huda school without mentioning it’s convicted terrorist teacher?

The Terrorist Next Door

The recent terror case of a “gentle” third-grade teacher from the D.C. suburbs shows the danger is at once closer and harder to ID than you think. The enemy is hiding not in the shadows, but in plain sight, and may even wear a smile.

Whitewash!

The old saying — you don’t have to be fast enough to outrun a bear, just fast enough to outrun the other people with you. Some of our modern day Churchills don’t even think we should run.

The WaPo article author tool has a contact page. Here’s my feedback;

How can you write an article about Al-Huda school without once mentioning it’s convicted terrorist teacher?

What motivated you to spew this disgraceful puff piece of pro-Islamo-fascist propaganda on the week of the 9/11 anniversary? Shame on you!

Terp Mole on September 5, 2006 at 11:08 AM

Blame the victim.

It’s all my fault they want to kill me.

Naturally, the WaPo author asshat is a Pulitzer prize winner. Here’s her views on jihad (Hint: blame America);

If we’re talking about jihad in the sense of “holy war,” I would say that 100 years ago, most Muslims knew that concept existed but they were not inspired to act on it. Don’t forget, that 100 years ago, the British controlled Egypt. But from Islam’s beginning, most Muslims heeded the words of Prophet Muhammad, who said that jihad in the sense of holy war was the “lesser” jihad. And that the “greater” jihad was everyone’s personal spiritual struggle to implement the moral message of Islam, and live accordingly.

It is only in the past few decades that young, frustrated Muslims, many of them misguided by religious fanatics like Osama bin Laden, came to believe that they should act on jihad, in the sense of “holy war.” The U.S. financing of the anti-Soviet Afghan guerrilla groups fueled that belief.

Most moderate Muslims believe today that jihad in the sense of holy war must not be undertaken by individuals, but only by a state. And most Muslim states today recognize international law in their relations with other states.

Couldn’t have been bloviated better by CAIR. And that’s what passes for “objectivity” at WaPo.

Muslims receive criticism and they kill everyone around, without remorse (and now seemingly with impunity).

Christians receive criticism and WE PRAY FOR THOSE WHO CRITICIZE!

Why can’t a duck just be a duck?

The WaPo Pulizter prize winning author asshat also wrote a breathless tome;

Can’t you feel the objectivity?

Point 1. The appeasers are encouraging the Wahhabism just as much as anyone else, because the appeasers make themselves appear weak and therefore easy targets.

Point 2. The Wahhabists respect strength. They dislike weak (appeasers) even more than they dislike strong enemies.

Point 3. What people like Kieth Olbermann fail to grasp is that his weak appeasements places him at the top of the list of targets for “being made an example of”.

Point 4. It is our appeasement and apparent weaknesses that drive Muslims to see their beliefs as strong, and therefore true.

Just like the two Fox journalists who meekly converted at the point of a gun. These are the meek actions of a sub-race of Dhimmis, not the actions of a strong people who deserve any level of respect.

A Muslim would not debase himself to meekly convert in the face of simple threats. He would die, respectfully, for his beliefs.

Lawrence on September 5, 2006 at 11:35 AM

He would die, respectfully, for his beliefs.
Lawrence on September 5, 2006 at 11:35 AM

That is an OXYMORON. Muslims can not die respectfully for their beliefs, when their beliefs include genocide, which they DO.
AND,
The journalists did NOT meekly convert, you should find the real meaning of the word MEEK.

You sir, just may be the coward.
My appologies, but your comments pissed me off!

As a result of the anti-conservative, anti-Christian bias I sense from the MSM, I am being pushed further into the evil clutches of the Southern Baptist Church. My defensive response to all of the negative views, oppression, suspicion and discrimination I suffer is to defiantly refuse to dance. It’s regrettable that I had to stoop to this level of militant decency. On the bright side, it will tie in nicely with my personal boycott of Miller products. Call me a “glass is half full” kinda guy.

I just invented a religion that says I require naked supermodels to stand in my hospital room at all times. Make it happen England or else.

Stand? Just STAND? Heretic!
