not only have they shown voters they can’t advance this issue even when they control both branches needed to enact legislation, but those voters are almost sure to make Congress bluer - allahpundit

AP, you are on to something, they are airbrushing the Immigration Issue out of the election play book.

What makes me mad is the sudden silence on this issue. I was asked to sign a petition for the GOP U.S. Senate candidate in Michigan. The canvasser could not tell me the candidate's postion on illegal immigration. He said he did not know. Baloney. Liar! The candidate's web site does not list immigration as an issue. He has items about crime threats from illegal aliens, and border security as a homeland security issue, but the word 'amnesty' cannot be found. I really like the guy when he speaks, but the airbrush is there.

The MSM is not covering the mini insurrections happening all over the southwest. Hoisting the Mexican flag over federal properties seems to not be a news item. The national GOP is hardly outraged over the censorship.

The national GOP does not want to go on record for this election. I will vote. I won't vote blue for spite. However, I have zero trust in the national party because of this. This issue isn't dead. It is being hidden to trick voters. I choose the best possible candidate, but it is hard to vote for a cipher.

IMHO, if the candidate cannot speak the word 'amnesty' in a non-Hispanic state with the most unionized work force being destroyed by outsourcing and illegal alien labor, his position is pro-amnesty. I used to enjoy voting. I may have to third party to avoid puking.

I'm still waiting for the day we see some outrage at the Mexican government. That is one of the most annoying things about seeing the Mexican flag at the illegal rallies... If you're so proud to be Mexican, why aren't you there? Because Mexico sucks and your own government deserves your anger, not ours.

Obrador vows to ignore the ruling and wants to form a parallel government. This will create anarchy in Mexico. Our government better get ready to protect those Southern borders quickly.

This will be just one of the major topics by Nov.

Remember the 'hot' topic of every minute and every hour ahead of 9/11/01? "Where is Shandra Levy?"

By Nov. the immigration topic might have about as much significance, compared with the real big issues affecting us and the world.

That's not to say that it shouldn't be addressed or that it will go away; it just will not be on the top burner.

It's all relative, large and small.

I still believe the media and many pundits, on the Left and the Right, completely misread the electorate and the big issue/s. They assume that the world is "perfect" for the Democrats. The world is never perfect for anyone and it changes by the second. The voters are disenchanted with both parties but they aren't about to commit harakiri.

By the pundits' and the MSM's account, one would think that all conservatives will stay home and all liberals who've never voted before will come out of the woods...

Survival is a very underestimated insinct.
