Iran, Syria, Hezbollah feeling froggy
posted at 6:36 pm on September 5, 2006 by Allahpundit
In brief:
• Ahmadinejad’s vowing to radicalize Iran’s universities, a move which Rusty and E.M. fear will finish off the inchoate pro-western student counterrevolution.
• Nasrallah says he won’t give up his missiles while Confederate Yankee wonders why the Lebanese army would need anti-aircraft guns to disarm Hezbollah, which has no air force.
• One of the lead investigators into Syria’s assassination of Rafik Hariri by bomb blast narrowly escapes with his life after an assassination attempt — by bomb blast.
• Debka claims the U.S., Europe and NATO have dispatched a massive fleet to the Middle East to prepare for a possible Israeli/American strike on Iran. But there’s no unified command-and-control structure, so it’s uncertain how effective it would be.
The good news? Iran at last has a winning idea; Khatami declines Jimmy Carter’s invitation to meet, proving that Jimbo’s not even important enough to be an effective stooge; and Ahmadinejad finally receives that autographed photo he’s been after for so long now.

Nah, that’s Charles Johnson’s shtick.
Allahpundit on September 5, 2006 at 7:03 PM
Amen to that! May I suggest Port-Au-Prince?

They make such a cute couple.

Lemme see. Iran embarassed the Brits a few years back in a military encroachment at sea, not long after that a Brit newspaper reported on how a combination Brit, U.S. taskforce would hammer Iran if they continued with their nuke program, and now this. Looks as if it will soon be
MillerHammer time. The left will have a field day with it if we do attack before the election. IMHO, Bush had better get ILLEGAL Immigration fixed first if he doesn’t want to lose both houses.
Jimmy who? The friend to Venezuela?
DannoJyd on September 5, 2006 at 8:39 PM
My vote is Venezuela. Hugo can serve the coffee and coca chews.

I’ll help the U.N. pack.
DannoJyd on September 5, 2006 at 8:58 PM
AP, you are a brilliant writer – here a perfect example:
“The good news?” – using the question mark was absolutely correct. I reiterate, as I sound like a broken record, intentionally, on this topic – so long as the U.N. exists, and so long as the U.S. pays the most, it must remain in the U.S. New York is as good as it gets.
I’d be with you all, if you’d argue for its demise. But not for just moving it. We need to contain the ‘devil’ who votes against our interests every time, being supported in greatest part by our dough.

without having read this post yet… is that George Costanza (Jason Alexander) in the picture Ahmadinejad is holding?
RightWinged on September 5, 2006 at 9:55 PM
Entelechy, what is your concern? It isn’t as if the U.N. was relevant, but their diplomats are definitely criminals in NY, and I cannot stand it when they rely on their diplomatic immunity.
Give me your poor, your tired, your hungry, but keep your criminal element as we have enough of those here already.
DannoJyd on September 5, 2006 at 9:59 PM
Danno, my friend, I’ll help you pack, only if we dissolve the U.N. We need an entire thread to cover the pros of having this ‘devil’ in our bossom, versus in Caracas, for ex.
Entelechy on September 5, 2006 at 10:20 PM
Entelechy, I bow to your inherent accuracy. This thread cannot be long enough to carry on the entire discussion.
My point of view would win though. [j/k]
DannoJyd on September 5, 2006 at 10:50 PM
Of course you’d win – we’d pack them up, if they’d close doors for good :)
Entelechy on September 6, 2006 at 12:39 AM
Rightwinged – it is Andrew Sullivan.
I wouldn’t be surprised. Glenn Beck reported that the NY Times (buried on page 6 or 8 Aug 22) reported that Iran was shelling in northern Iraq. We have been attacked by them, we need to respond.

I realized that later, but it did look like Costanza to me when I first saw it.
