It still does not seem like a valid reason to kill innocent people randomly through terrorist attacks, even if they do feel justified in hating us for things that were done in the past. That type of reasoning would prevent us from being allies with Japan or Germany. Our prisoners of war were treated in the most horrendous ways by both countries. Pearl Harbor was an attack on our own country. But we do not go around bombing these nations’ planes or blowing up their night clubs.

Two things stuck out on the 3rd video beyond the usual smears: the blatant reordering of historical events, such as Saddam gassing Kurds after the Gulf War instead of beforehand (presumably to portray the U.S. as the cause rather than a consequence); and attempts to shut down debate by appealing to emotionalism and then asking, "after all THIS how do you still have the NERVE to ask why they hate us?", as if this was a valid substitute for a REAL argument. That kind of lazy thinking has to be fought every day, by challenging those doing it to explain, if that is true, then why don't they hate just the U.S.? Why do they hate much of the rest of the world with similar zeal? ("They do not!") And when they talk amongst themselves about how much they hate the Great Satan, why don't they give the same "reasons" given here, but entirely different ones?

I don’t agree. What he was trying to point out, IMHO, is not justification for the killing of innocents, but the reasons for their general hatred of us, which leads to the killing of innocents. In other words, he’s not buying into the “they hate us for our freedoms” meme, and neither do I. That’s not to say that we endorse the violence, but it is important that we try to understand, lest we be found wanting on the last day, so to speak.

The thinking of the third video is flawed. The maker of the video seems to be saying that the families of innocent people who have been killed have a justification to attack and kill other innocent people. By that thinking the families of the people who were killed on 9/11 would have a good reason to kill other innocent people. It would appear that the goal of this video is to justify terrorism and it fails miserably.
