Tonight on the Beeb: Is it time to talk to Al Qaeda?

posted at 1:55 pm on September 3, 2006 by Allahpundit

How ’bout it, KP? Do we get to break out the scarlet “A” for this? Or is tonight’s program merely an example of the lesser included offense, “Gross Underestimation of the Threat”?

Between this and the assassination snuff-udrama, we desperately need someone in the UK willing and able to record TV video for us. If you’re overseas, interested, and have either a Media PC or a Tivo network hook-up, please e-mail us ASAP.

Update: Here’s an article at the BBC that’ll give you a sense of the program’s flavor.

His statements are not about any Caliphate, a pan-Muslim state which is rarely mentioned, but about US support for Israel, its backing for “apostate” Arab regimes in the Middle East and the presence of US troops in Muslim lands.

In reality, the issue is US foreign policy.

Uh-huh. Rarely mentioned:

I say to the Islamic Nation that we lost our Caliphate and their rule and fell under the occupation of the Crusaders for almost a century; since then the Crusaders have come between us and the return of the Caliphate or even the establishment of any Islamic state, and this is why they invaded Afghanistan and they have pressured Sudan to back off from the establishment of an Islamic state.

Blaming OBL all on Israel, up next on the BBC. Tonight we’ll also be ignoring his opposition to printing cartoons and the recent call to the West to convert to Islam.

Why the hell is it so hard to find a collection of all of Osama’s statements online?

AP, you might want to take a look at the blog Biased BBC. I’m sure their proprietors record BBC shows, too.

In the words of Mike Scheuer - who headed the CIA’s Bin Laden Unit before and after 11 September, 2001

Talk about a colossal failure who can’t shut up!

Couldn’t get this , nor the article at the BBC to open. #$*!

…and this is why they invaded Afghanistan

I would love to hear a typical liberal progressive explain that one.

1938: “Tonight on BBC Radio, is it time to talk to Hitler?”

Peace in our time, eh Neville?

It’s all Bush’s fault – nothing was wrong with the world pre-Bush.

Allah – Did you find anybody? For future reference I have several friends with Tivo in the UK. Shoot me an email if you ever want something Tivo’d there. Not sure how it gets from a Tivo in London to you, but you obviously that stuff.
