Hiltzik was a bigger name, Greenwald was more gratifying, but this guy takes the prize for most shameless offender. Check out the comments by “sprezzatura” here defending Siegel. Hilarious.
The announcement pointedly doesn’t accuse him of having written the comments himself, only of having “participated” somehow. Theories are, as always, welcome.

Wow. Hat’s off to whoever put a sock in this puppet.
And for the record, :) I’m getting tired of sockpuppets flinging comments of the “you’re not qualified to tie Siegel’s/Greenwald’s/Hiltzik’s shoes” variety. I’d prefer they stick to the point; there’s enough vanity on display already without this crap piled on. (It’s also a dead giveaway; other than stalkers, do regular commenters really talk this way about a particular writer?)
