Please note: CNN’s were UP the same period by 21%, so the notion that all cable news took a head-dive because of a less dramatic August compared to last year. And I clearly stated that O’R still owned the 8PM slot.

So last August, people turned off CNN to watch Fox’s coverage of Katrina et al. After that “show” was over, the CNN viewers returned to their regular viewing habits. The result: Fox’s numbers go down and CNN’s go up. Fox is so far ahead of CNN that they can take a “28% hit” and still be 160 percent ahead of them in the ratings.

Fox News Channel was down 28 percent in prime, averaging 1.51 million viewers versus 2.09 million during August 2005, a period marked by the landfall of Hurricane Katrina and the subsequent destruction of New Orleans.

Karl Rove should have engineered another natural disaster for this August so that Fox’s ratings would have climbed to record heights.

Meanwhile with Fox’s ratings down, they still kick the butts of CNN and MSNBC on a nightly basis. Fox:1,511; CNN:902; and MSNBC:371.

And, on Tuesday night, 8/29, 8:00 pm, O’Reilly:476; Zahn:222; Olby:187. Looks like KO is still trailing the pack…..

Olbermann’s recent unhinged rant against a >rather benign Rumsfeld speech is notable not so much for the display of Bush Derangement Syndrome, but for a small problem pointed out by Olbermann Watch. Here’s an excerpt from the transcript of the……

I have a very serious question, though: how can these people who are sooooo intellectually dishonest, look themselves in the mirror? And how is it that they are soooooo transparent to us, and yet the majority of moonbats follow them around like dogs in heat? I don’t get it. I really don’t. Their dishonesty is PROVEN time and time again and yet they are STILL believed. Can someone help me out here?

Take the Valerie Plame incident. Moonbats were absolutely CONVINCED that it was some Rovian plot – all kinds of misinformation and all-out lies were reported. The liberals believed it. And now that it has been shown that Armitage (one of their sympathizers) was responsible, there is silence from their camp. No apologies, no nothing.

Then there’s Katrina: All Bush’s Fault. No matter what the evidence shows.
