FANTASTIC Friday episode. Entertaining and educational. Look out Will Ferrell, another vlog star is born — PW!

realVerse on August 25, 2006 at 10:25 AM

In contrast to yesterday’s thread, let me state for the record that not only is it okay to objectify Jeff — I encourage it. Along with substantive feedback, of course.

1. Excellent job, JG and df. Seriously good.
2. That ass. That pillowy ass.

I’m downright giddy at the thought of how much lefty hate-traffic this is going to bring in!

Allahpundit on August 25, 2006 at 10:29 AM

There is actually very little difference in goals between the extreme left and extreme right, although they use totally different rhetoric to convince people. Anti-Semitism, which was almost exclusively the province of the extreme right, has now become largely concentrated on the left, although the latter cleverly disguises its Jew-hatred as anti-Zionism. Indeed, one can see this in the arguments used by the two petition gatherers on the clip. The relative effectiveness of both approaches in an affluent and educated audience is measured by the fact that only the person posing as being on the left was able to collect signatures.

It is encouraging that the large majority of bystanders did not sign the petition. However, what would have happened in a predominantly Muslim immigrant neighborhood, especially if the agitators were Palestinian in orgin, or in a black neighboorhood with the agitators being black Muslims and/or black panthers? I think in most cases the results would have been considerably more disturbing than what we saw here.

ptolemy on August 25, 2006 at 10:32 AM

As illustrated here, there’s no shortage of nutjobs on the left and right. While anti-Semitism seems rampant on the web, it needs to be borne in mind that the vast majority of Americans are not bloggers and don’t read blogs. I think most folks’ view of Israel/Jews is goodish/neutral/nonexistent, as borne our in this video.

Good job, JG. I enjoyed your little experiment. Keep it up.

jdpaz on August 25, 2006 at 10:35 AM

Was that Deb Frisch I spotted stalking from the bushes? Or was she hiding behind the Blue Dot?

pjcomix on August 25, 2006 at 10:39 AM

Entertaining, scientific for kids and adults

Drtuddle on August 25, 2006 at 10:42 AM

“Some of my best friends own Annie Hall DVDs.”

Classic.

Nice job, Jeff.

Slublog on August 25, 2006 at 10:49 AM

I hate to ask, but would someone be kind enough to post a screencap of JG? I can’t install Flash here at the 8-5, so I can’t see the Vent at the moment.

Please make it a good screencap – so it can be used by the masses to print and have an autographed signed on it :)

SisterToldjah on August 25, 2006 at 10:51 AM

Darn, where’s that preview button to spot typos when you need it?

SisterToldjah on August 25, 2006 at 10:58 AM

Sister – tried to send you a pic, but got denied.

Ouch. :-)

Slublog on August 25, 2006 at 11:00 AM

First, I really liked how the best looking girl in the video said she was right of Rush Limbaugh.

Second, ‘How can I be anti Semitic? I’m circumsized.’ That line had me falling out of the chair. Someone needs to use that line on a cable show. Nicely done.

austinnelly on August 25, 2006 at 11:01 AM

Sister – tried to send you a pic, but got denied.

Ouch. :-)

ROTFL! Got caught in my Earthlink spam filter … I was able to retrieve it. Thank you very much, Slu :)

JG: if the screencap Slu sent is any indication, the gals are gonna be digging you for a whole lot more than your sharp wit from here on out ;)

I do, however, question the timing.

SisterToldjah on August 25, 2006 at 11:04 AM

He does have dreamy eyes, doesn’t he?

*Sigh*

Slublog on August 25, 2006 at 11:05 AM

Oh, this needs to be a series. Nice job, Jeff. But next time, sexy it up a bit, would ya?

Pablo on August 25, 2006 at 11:05 AM

austinnelly,

I agree, there should have been a warning about watching this and eating at the same time. I have been getting food off my screen for several minutes! Too funny.

Centurion68 on August 25, 2006 at 11:06 AM

Oh, this needs to be a series. Nice job, Jeff. But next time, sexy it up a bit, would ya?

You mean like wear a half-shirt or something? :)

SisterToldjah on August 25, 2006 at 11:06 AM

It’s Friday. Where’s the dancin’ critter?

Attila (Pillage Idiot) on August 25, 2006 at 11:10 AM

I submit the following two songs for consideration for ‘theme music’ for any possible future JG Vents that we (hopefully) will see here at HotAir:

Suggestion 1
Suggestion 2

(Hope the quality on those is ok – can see the song titles but not the actual vids)

Any other suggestions?

SisterToldjah on August 25, 2006 at 11:11 AM

…and Swordfight Week is now officially under way.

Kid from Brooklyn on August 25, 2006 at 11:12 AM

There were several amusing comments for the Vent.
Telling the boys about the difference between the sound of a bolo tie and a shotgun was great. The giggling girl at the end saying her friend or brother doesn’t look 8 then asking who is Gary Coleman was the best.

allie on August 25, 2006 at 11:15 AM

‘How can I be anti Semitic? I’m circumsized.’

I would vote that as the best line of the segment.

Wash Park is also a little north of Univ of Denver, where SOS Rice schooled.

Rich on August 25, 2006 at 11:17 AM

No way, I like the whole bolo tie thing in the outakes.

“Did you hear it? No. And now you’re dead. You didn’t even cock your shotgun and now you’re dead.”

Hilarious.

Greg Tinti on August 25, 2006 at 11:23 AM

I’m with Rick. Great line. I loved it, Jeff. No need to sweat this being up all weekend. The ladies will love it.

marykatharine on August 25, 2006 at 11:34 AM

Awesome, Jeff. Way cool to see my home town on Vent. I’ve walked my dogs past that boat house a ka-billion times. You were, of course, on the radical end of the park. I wonder what response you would have had at the other end just outside the tennis courts or flower gardens? Science: not just for the professionals anymore.

GPE on August 25, 2006 at 11:35 AM

“you got tattooes and stuff” or “Patriots don’t wear flip flops” and of course, the Billy Bob yellow teeth are classic.

Funny! And thanks guys for a little eye candy for the chicks. You are just a tad bit young for me, but I can still dream…
JG, I have to say that I am really disappointed that you didn’t do the Vent shirtless, covered in baby oil, flexing your muscles. I guess I’ll have to wait for Allah to do that one…
xoxo

pullingmyhairout on August 25, 2006 at 11:35 AM

I’m with Rick. Great line.

Excuse me, Rich. I was talking about you. My bad.

marykatharine on August 25, 2006 at 11:36 AM

Hilarious! Loved it.

He does have dreamy eyes, doesn’t he?

SisterToldjah on August 25, 2006 at 11:11 AM

Definitely #2! Hammer Time!!

StephC on August 25, 2006 at 11:36 AM

I loved it.
Where’s the Billy Jack hat? I was really looking forward to that hat.

PattyAnn on August 25, 2006 at 11:36 AM

JG, I have to say that I am really disappointed that you didn’t do the Vent shirtless, covered in baby oil, flexing your muscles. I guess I’ll have to wait for Allah to do that one…

Seconded on all counts …

SisterToldjah on August 25, 2006 at 11:38 AM

Definitely #2! Hammer Time!!

Heh. I liked that one, too.

“I’m dope on the floor and I’m magic on the mike”

Also looked for Loverboy’s “Kid Is Hot Tonight” but couldn’t find it at YouTube. Dang it.

SisterToldjah on August 25, 2006 at 11:40 AM

Extreme funny!
BUT, when I heard and saw ‘here we are in Wash Park in Denver (me being just a few miles from there) I hoped the next line was…..WITH Bethany. Oh well.

‘How can I be anti Semitic? I’m circumsized.’
Line of the WEEK !!!

shooter on August 25, 2006 at 11:42 AM

I have to say that guys are just funnier…sorry bethany and MK. :)

pullingmyhairout on August 25, 2006 at 11:45 AM

Is the “Citizen Journalism Report” going to be a new series on HotAir?

CP on August 25, 2006 at 11:45 AM

“Looking for some,,,BURRRRPPP,,,Patriots.”

It takes classicly-trained, girly-men Hollywood actors years to learn to burp on cue like that. And what a burp it was — I smelled that thing through my computer!

realVerse on August 25, 2006 at 11:49 AM

Well done guys
I’ve said this back here in California for years in college, thank you for providing evidence to support it.

and yeah the circumcized line is a thing of beauty, props for that!

Defector01 on August 25, 2006 at 11:50 AM

Is the “Citizen Journalism Report” going to be a new series on HotAir?

If I get to see that ass again in cutoffs, it is.

Actually, I have near-zero say in Vent matters. But I’m pretty sure JG will be back for more.

Allahpundit on August 25, 2006 at 11:50 AM

If I get to see that ass again in cutoffs, it is.

Sorry, Allah. It’s all about the eyes.

And those hands.

Slublog on August 25, 2006 at 11:53 AM

If I get to see that ass again in cutoffs, it is.

WTH?

SluBlog, you sent me the wrong screencap ;)

SisterToldjah on August 25, 2006 at 12:01 PM

Nope…no way…I draw the line at screencapping Goldstein’s trunk. :-)

Slublog on August 25, 2006 at 12:03 PM

119 comments needed to beat Bethany’s Wed Vent.

Not.gonna.happen.

Rich on August 25, 2006 at 12:05 PM

Forget the dreamy eyes and pillowy ass… where’s the dancing armadillo?

OC Sandman on August 25, 2006 at 12:09 PM

Sister, for music suggestion I was going to suggest “3 Blind Mice” but I believe some other group has already used it.

PattyAnn on August 25, 2006 at 12:10 PM

SluBlog, his trunk? This was an option?

PattyAnn on August 25, 2006 at 12:12 PM

Bolo ties

I can see that showing up on Ace as a counterpart to Layers

KCSteve on August 25, 2006 at 12:13 PM

SluBlog, his trunk? This was an option?

Yeah – I wasn’t sure how to respond to that one ;)

Should there be a ‘this content is suitable only for mature audiences’ notice at the beginning of the Vent? If so, I guess that leaves me out …

SisterToldjah on August 25, 2006 at 12:18 PM

SluBlog, his trunk? This was an option?

Hey, some people seem obsessed with it. Normally, I’d give the people what they want, but you’ve got to draw the line somewhere.

Slublog on August 25, 2006 at 12:18 PM

By the way, I’m using “trunk” because I’m afraid the BanHammer will come down on me if I use a$$.

Slublog on August 25, 2006 at 12:19 PM

SluBlog, I think Sister and I are thinking “we don’t think trunk means what you think it means.”

PattyAnn on August 25, 2006 at 12:21 PM

Yeah, that’s the vibe I’m getting…sorry for the confusion.

I meant it in the ‘junk in the trunk’ sense, as in his backside.

You people are just dirty. :-)

Slublog on August 25, 2006 at 12:22 PM

and you love us for it :)

PattyAnn on August 25, 2006 at 12:23 PM

I’d like to thank Bryan Preston for adding in a couple of transitions and music. They were nice touches that I just didn’t have time to add.

Many pieces of electrical equipment… died… to bring you this video.

dorkafork on August 25, 2006 at 12:24 PM

No prob. You guys did a great job on this video. I just tweaked it a little bit.

Bryan on August 25, 2006 at 12:26 PM

How soon before there’s a t-shirt with Goldstein’s face on it above the slogan, “Patriots don’t wear flip-flops”?

It can happen, people. It can happen.

Allahpundit on August 25, 2006 at 12:32 PM

Yeah, after watching it for the fifth time, I still laugh at the jokes. Great job, Jeff and DorkaFork.

Ian on August 25, 2006 at 12:36 PM

Funny, but what’s “Zionazim” anyway?

:>

ricer1 on August 25, 2006 at 12:54 PM

Yeah, that’s the vibe I’m getting…sorry for the confusion.

I meant it in the ‘junk in the trunk’ sense, as in his backside.

You people are just dirty. :-)

I resemble that remark.

SisterToldjah on August 25, 2006 at 1:00 PM

I liked your message but I don’t think the outcome was nearly as funny or as effective as it could have been. It looked like you guys were rushed and didn’t get a good sampling of people. There was more monologue than one on one chatter/confrontation. Maybe your location was wrong?

Just a thought. Keep up the good work.

Bic on August 25, 2006 at 1:00 PM

Hilarious Vent!

Stupid me, I didn’t even realize that was Jeff as the paleocon! (I thought it was dorkafork!)
(Thanks, Allah)

bamapachyderm on August 25, 2006 at 1:02 PM

How soon before there’s a t-shirt with Goldstein’s face on it above the slogan, “Patriots don’t wear flip-flops”?

Right after they name a beer after him.

SisterToldjah on August 25, 2006 at 1:02 PM

Hilarious Vent!

Stupid me, I didn’t even realize that was Jeff as the paleocon! (I thought it was dorkafork!)

Didn’t ya know all paleocons look the same?

;)

SisterToldjah on August 25, 2006 at 1:03 PM

Didn’t ya know all paleocons look the same?

Doh! Hehehehehe

Hey, this gave me the opportunity to link the word “retard” to Pat Buchanan’s site. (As in “paleocon retard.”)

bamapachyderm on August 25, 2006 at 1:10 PM

Doh! Hehehehehe

Hey, this gave me the opportunity to link the word “retard” to Pat Buchanan’s site. (As in “paleocon retard.”)

Makes me especially happy to only be a pale con.

:D

SisterToldjah on August 25, 2006 at 1:11 PM

ST, as long as you’re picking videos for Jeff to do for his next Vent, how about this one?

bamapachyderm on August 25, 2006 at 1:12 PM

ST, as long as you’re picking videos for Jeff to do for his next Vent, how about this one?

ROTF! Would he dress like that, though, is the question.

So many good songs to choose from – enough for perhaps a month’s worth of JG Vents, eh?

SisterToldjah on August 25, 2006 at 1:20 PM

Would be funnier if Michelle’s promo on her site didn’t take an unfounded jab at a largely conservative state.

Thanks Michelle for alienating people who fallow your own beliefs.

GenFX on August 25, 2006 at 1:25 PM

Aw, GenFX, c’mon. That IS the stereotypical redneck. The one the moonbats think of, you know?
I’m in Alabama and it didn’t bother me, even with the goofy redneck accent. It’s the Bible Belt, y’know–and Bible Belt people are huge Israel supporters. Redneck or not.

bamapachyderm on August 25, 2006 at 1:29 PM

From Michelle’s blog:

We are debuting a new weekly political comedy show from the brilliant Jeff Goldstein, bane of the unhinged Left.

Exsqueeze me? A weekly bit?

Pablo on August 25, 2006 at 1:39 PM

Yup.

Allahpundit on August 25, 2006 at 1:39 PM

Loved it guys, keep up the good work.

Ellen on August 25, 2006 at 1:42 PM

Shhhweeet! But we gotta get that boy some wimmen. Volunteers?

Pablo on August 25, 2006 at 1:44 PM

Weekly? Cool. Bring on the theme song suggestions, ya’ll :)

Oh, and I’m in a ‘redneck state’ too and I’m sure I won’t be bothered by any JG redneck jabs once I get to watch the Vent. Most of us in the south have the ability to laugh at stuff like that because we don’t take it seriously. Unless it comes from a far left lib, of course :)

SisterToldjah on August 25, 2006 at 1:44 PM

But we gotta get that boy some wimmen

Who, Goldstein? No you don’t, he’s married.

Allah, on the other hand…

bamapachyderm on August 25, 2006 at 1:45 PM

ST, I don’t mind at all when moonbats rip on the South. As far as I’m concerned, the more that think we’re cousin marryin’ toothless hicks, the fewer will infest the region.

;-)

bamapachyderm on August 25, 2006 at 1:47 PM

Allah, on the other hand…

My life of clipping videos in a darkened room is rich and full.

Besides. I’m saving myself for KP.

Allahpundit on August 25, 2006 at 1:49 PM

Who, Goldstein? No you don’t, he’s married.

Allah, on the other hand…

I understand he’s set his sights on the liberal Ms. Powers – I know that doesn’t make him completely unavailable, but still …

ST, I don’t mind at all when moonbats rip on the South. As far as I’m concerned, the more that think we’re cousin marryin’ toothless hicks, the fewer will infest the region.

;-)

LOL .. I like your style, Beth!

SisterToldjah on August 25, 2006 at 1:51 PM

KP?

What about Melissa?

Slublog on August 25, 2006 at 1:52 PM

What’s a KP?
Kitchen patrol?

bamapachyderm on August 25, 2006 at 1:52 PM

Besides. I’m saving myself for KP.

The world weeps.

Now about those video clips … oh wait, you said life of clipping videos. My bad.

SisterToldjah on August 25, 2006 at 1:53 PM

Nicely done. That was hilarious.

High Desert Wanderer on August 25, 2006 at 1:54 PM

What about Melissa?

Melissa and Bethany don’t really exist. They’re video creations. Like “Simone,” if you’ve ever seen that terrible movie.

Allahpundit on August 25, 2006 at 1:55 PM

Sister Toldjah you have your own website and post here so much that this morning while reading through posts I experienced a gag reaction. My God your making me sick!

mimi on August 25, 2006 at 1:55 PM

What’s your problem, mimi?

Allahpundit on August 25, 2006 at 1:59 PM

Sister Toldjah you have your own website and post here so much that this morning while reading through posts I experienced a gag reaction. My God your making me sick!

Will this help a bit? If not, perhaps this will.

SisterToldjah on August 25, 2006 at 1:59 PM

What’s your problem, mimi?

The fact that we’re having fun and he/she/it is not? Just a guess …

SisterToldjah on August 25, 2006 at 2:00 PM

BTW, m, I’m actually able to post at my own blog (just got a new one up a few mins ago) and comment here almost at the same time. It’s called “multi-tasking.”

SisterToldjah on August 25, 2006 at 2:06 PM

My God your making me sick!

mimi on August 25, 2006 at 1:55 PM

Good grief. Get a life, please.
Take two of these (or these) and call me in the morning, K?

bamapachyderm on August 25, 2006 at 2:09 PM

Sickos.
