Uhh sorry but KP was out of line, and those of you who might not like AC still have to recognize the cheap trick for what it was. All KP did was rant on and on with liberal talking points, then once AC started to put together an answer she aggressively cut AC off, never gave her a chance to speak, and then switched to the other guy because AC got a word in.

The tactic you describe comes right from the left’s playbook. They perfected this technique in the late 60′s and is designed to marginalize effective spokesperson from the right and to control the dialog.

“Never let them get a word in edgewise” is their way of monopolizing the conversation and preventing opposition ideas from being heard. Consideration, respect for other’s point of view, taking turns in debate, and a general civility in debate — all things we were taught as the proper way to exchange ideas in the marketplace of ideas — do not work if your goal is to win, no matter what, and at all costs.

What Ms. Powers did to Ms. Coulter was, no doubt, “red meat” to the left or those that do not like Coulter, but to anybody else, Powers proved to be a pedagogue, a talking-point manikin, who had no interest in discussion, just in shouting down her by erecting a standard leftwing strawman argument — Osama bin Laden being still at large.

The points that Coulter raised about exactly what part of the fighting terrorism do the Democrats support warrant a discussion. We didn’t get that.

What we got was evasion from Ms. Powers, who like many Democrats hide behind the failure to get bin Laden as if it is the only measure of success.

What Coulter did not have a chance to develop is the idea that instead of being in personal control of an organization capable of striking — at will — anywhere on the planet, bin Laden is reduced to making “motivational videos,” and rather lame ones at that, from “a secure location, somewhere in West Pakistan” — which is code for some cave where our bombs can’t reach him.

Coulter was prevented from explaining this because Powers simply shouted her down and cut her off, ultimately proving that the Democrats have no answer to Coulter’s charges.

At some time, the Democrats will have to explain what their plan is and tell us why their plan is better than Bush’s, and CONVINCE us that their solution is the proper one to the issue of terrorism, if they want to have any chance at taking back power.

Ms. Powers proved incapable of doing that. Pitty.

As for Huddy, yeah she’s hot.. but she got an FNC make-over because travel back like 3 years in her early days on Fox & Friends and she wasn’t anything like she is now. Anyway, just to add my two cents, I would say that instead of Huddy in your comments I would have used either Kiran Chetry, Julie Banderas, or Rebecca Gomez… Though there are plenty more at FNC.

When I concur that Ann needs to eat more, it’s because she is *painfully* thin and I want to see her look a little healthier. When I criticized her outfit on the cover of Godless it was because she looks like she’s wearing a black gymnastics leotard. It is an unattractive look.

In other words, I want to see Ann look *more* attractive. I think she makes a lot of sense the vast majority of the time, I love that she is fearless, that she will take the heat for saying a good many things I would like to say. It’s because I already agree with her on many points that I fall to nitpicking her thinness or a particular outfit. People who hate Ann would do far better to start trying to counter her arguments *first,* before getting on the insult train.

If you don’t meet this criteria; then more power to you… have at her. I truly wonder how many of you people would actually have the courage and honesty to say it to her face. I give Kirsten that much at least; wish I could say the same for half of you.

I will go on record as saying, I do not give a damn what she looks like. Her books and articles are excellent.

No, because the MSM et Co. only keep a thorough tally and print the names of our dead. To do otherwise would be good for Mr. Bush and the U.S. and bad for BDS and aADS.

Pablo, zb42, Tony737 and others have characterized well why we’re in Iraq. Yet, the best is to come. Which will also make the current cease-fire and Israel/Hezbollah war look like a skirmish. Same for the SOS Rice assessment. Those who listed some of her accomplishments, forgot the one with the biggest/long-lasting impact, the strategic/nuclear agreement with India (and the U.S. and Israel). Not understood and therefore never accurately reported on.

“dems will get bin Laden” – he needs not being gotten. He’s in a cave since Dec. 2001 and for reasons of not making him a martyr the mystery surrounding his whereabouts or dead/live status is best left a mystery. It also provides the Dems one big harping item and lots of smiles for some of us…

On Ann Coulter’s looks – if we continue to focus on her looks, we deserve to be in the Kos category. I have no peeve with those who like or dislike her. To harp on her or KP’s or anyone’s looks, however, is being intelligently-challenged (how’s that for PC?)

Ann should have walked off the set sooner and should stay away from Fox for a while. It will only affect their ratings, the primary reason why they invite her.

I happen to like KP, from the list of the few dem. TV personalities one can like, but she’s weak and compensates with calculated sneakiness, i.e. tactics versus substance (what list?)

I abondoned the H & C show a long time ago, for this reason:

- Hannity, bla, bla, bla, shout over guest, bla, bla, bla, ask guest a question and then act like KP
- Colmes, ask a terribly contrarian and illogical question, having googled on any subject, related or unrelated, as long as it is adversarial to topic at hand, then piously staring at guest, who barely begins to talk, before a hard-brake commercial comes on
- some more of the same
- Greta stares at us with the latest never-ending story being announced
- more idiocy
- hand it over to Greta

I’ve had more excitement over H & C from this thread than any H & C from the last six months.

KP itilizes the CNN method of dealing with conservatives, just keep asking loaded questions without allowing a response. There must be a school somewhere that teaches this strategy.

While Kirsten became rude, she was no worse than regular host Alan Colmes (or than Sean Hannity for that matter) and she is actually a whole lot smarter than he is. Alan Colmes never gives anything than predigested Democratic talking points, and appears to be incapable of independent thought. In addition to Kirsten being think on her own, her views are actually much more reasonable to those of most on the left.

Yes. It does seem that there are some who enjoyed and were impressed with that lib girl’s dodging of the “what have Democrats done to fight the war on terror?” question.
