I thought a funny one was when he heard from a Texan who said that a derogatory name to a Canadian ‘was being called Canadian”. I guess that forgives him for saying “gook” today. The Vietnamese should settle down as that was a slur we had for the VC, not for the REAL folks.

M. Steyn was born in Canada but grew up in part in England and has a rather unique accent, not typical to Canada, NZ, nor Britain. But what wit and writing style! Can get a flavor here.

I thought he said he was Canadian… Either way, that is an accent (and a big beautiful brain) I could easily fall in love with.

I’d never read or listened to him before, but he is now in my bookmarks. Thanks for the heads up on his sit-in on Rush today, Allah!

After accidentally shearing my xm radio antennea , I recently discovered a local am conservative radio channel – in a blue state! – I’m in heaven!!

I did hear Mark Steyn today . . .what a treat! Conservative talk with a NZ accent is like enjoying a five course meal with dessert first. More more more please.

I don’t know if Steyn has ever done broadcasting before, but he was quite good at it. Didn’t seem nervous and laughs at his own jokes.

I’m stunned by the implications of Mark Steyn’s having the ear of Rush Limbaugh’s audience for three hours. A few million of those listeners have most likely never before had the demographic death spiral explained to them, at least, not the way Steyn will explain it to them.

The AARP will be fit to be tied, and I feel fine.

Steyn could probably be interesting writing (or speaking) about the finer points of writing auto insurance policies. I can only imagine what he will do with Rush’s forum.

A few months ago, Steyn wrote a great obit in Atlantic Monthly about Euguene McCarthy. I wish is was available without subscription, as I would post the link here. The piece gets right to the genesis of the Democrats transformation into a party that is a bunch of wussies on national security issues.
