It’s a quickie intro to the blogosphere, both left and right. If you’re unfamiliar with Sparkle, she blogs at her own site and at the Houston Chronicle.

We might have a prospect here. Like Mary K and Bethany, she is, let us say, “qualified” to guest-host Vent.

Also qualified: Kirsten Powers.

Not qualified:

She’s a winner

EricPWJohnson on August 23, 2006 at 11:03 AM

Okay…I’ll bite. Who is this girl who is not qualified?

DakRoland on August 23, 2006 at 11:17 AM

Who is she??

Why, it’s JacqMack herself!

Allahpundit on August 23, 2006 at 11:19 AM

Best name since John Jacob Jingleheimer Schmidt.

Jim Treacher on August 23, 2006 at 11:21 AM

Who is she??

Why, it’s JacqMack herself!

I thought she was the most qualified woman alive. ;)
According to herself, at least.

batperez on August 23, 2006 at 11:35 AM

Looks like Gore’s daughter. What ever happened to the rambunctious Bush twins BTW?

honora on August 23, 2006 at 11:44 AM

Allah,

You need to stop with JacqMack – you are scaring me.

Rick on August 23, 2006 at 11:48 AM

Did anyone else think her volume was too low?

rightside on August 23, 2006 at 11:56 AM

she is, let us say, “qualified” to guest-host Vent.

yes, Allah. we ALL KNOW what makes her qualified. sheesh.

Actually, she should guest host. It’s nice to hear new voices (not that I don’t like michelle) :)

Would now be a good time to say I (and other female bloggers) are looking fwd to Mr. Goldstein’s Vent on Friday? Have enjoyed the Vents so far this week, but I’m thinking rightie females who visit this blog might enjoy a little more, ahem, eye candy balance so with that in mind:

We have Goldstein on Friday – maybe Allah on Monday? :)

Jim T, how about you take the Tuesday slot? And Bryan on Weds.? ;)

SisterToldjah on August 23, 2006 at 11:59 AM

Charming and informative. And she gives big props to MM, AP and HotAir! Well done.
I like the Cotillion. I have gone there frequently.

labwrs on August 23, 2006 at 12:06 PM

Sister Toldjah just DID! I second that!

labwrs on August 23, 2006 at 12:08 PM

Sister Toldjah just DID! I second that!

Thank you.

I figure if I can get over my fear/shyness of being on a blogging panel (which will happen in October) then Allah and others can do the same (or perhaps it’s not so much shyness as modesty, which is an attractive quality in and of itself … :) )

SisterToldjah on August 23, 2006 at 12:17 PM

Gee, thanks Allah! I know I could never live up to awesomeness that is “JacqMack.” My percentages just aren’t that high, but I appreciate the mention.

Rightwingsparkle on August 23, 2006 at 12:17 PM

Jim T, how about you take the Tuesday slot?

But then nobody would come back on Wednesday.

Jim Treacher on August 23, 2006 at 12:26 PM

But then nobody would come back on Wednesday.

Sheesh … I think you guys are being too modest! You should let us gals judge for ourselves :)

SisterToldjah on August 23, 2006 at 12:34 PM

And so it begins anew … the bait, oh, the bait.

Anwyn on August 23, 2006 at 12:48 PM

And so it begins anew … the bait, oh, the bait.

I’m still waiting to hear from you, Allah. I challenged you to appear on the other thread. are you up for it?? :)

You should let us gals judge for ourselves :)

In total agreement, Sister!!

Jim Treacher on August 23, 2006 at 11:21 AM

HA!

Hey Allah, do we have to organize all the X-chromosomes in the blogosphere to bully you chicken-vloggers?
Put up or shut up, guys!

/in your face conservative
//thanks RWS! :-)

bamapachyderm on August 23, 2006 at 2:45 PM

Forget metrosexual far left males – we want machosexual conservative males :)

SisterToldjah on August 23, 2006 at 2:59 PM

Houston Chronicle? I SWEAR I’m not making this up but I used to have a regular humor column in their Sunday Texas Magazine section. Hey Rightwingsparkle, your mission, should you decide to accept it is to find my old columns in the Texas Magazine archives. Hint: Look for some really BIZARRE illustrated columns written by a weirdo with the first name of “P.J.”.

p.s. One of the columns was about a high stakes Scrabble showdown on a train.

pjcomix on August 23, 2006 at 3:21 PM

What? I don’t read the Houston Chronicle, I just blog for them.

Heh.

Rightwingsparkle on August 23, 2006 at 4:36 PM

Psst! Don’t let the Houston Chronicle know that. The only periodical where I had a humor column appear that I didn’t read was Krokodil, the Russian humor magazine and my “excuse” was that I can’t read Russian although I learned enough Cyrillic to at least ID my stories. BTW, rightwingsparkle, check out this BIZARRE experience I had when I actually got to meet the editors of Krokodil. Oh, and if anyone out there knows the location of Leonid Florientiev, please let me know. I’ve been searching for him for years but lost touch since the Evil Empire collapsed.

I Was a Commie Writer

pjcomix on August 23, 2006 at 5:48 PM

I’ll do a vid….But I’m probably more to the right of anyone here!

:)

VonHelton on August 23, 2006 at 7:33 PM

pjcomix,

Is that story at all true?

Rightwingsparkle on August 23, 2006 at 8:19 PM

Yes. True story. I am now looking for Leonid Florentiev, the Krokodil editor, so if anybody out there knows where he is, please let me know. After Krokodil folded (when Soviet Union collapsed) I stayed in touch with Leonid but then lost contact with him. Great guy and too bad he seems to have disappeared.

BTW, some folks are accident prone. Well, for some strange reason I’m INCIDENT prone. I seem to somehow be a magnet for bizarre incidents. Maybe I have some sort of magnetic force field around me that attracts bizarre incidents.

Again, if anybody out there knows of a Leonid Florentiev, please let me know. Thanx in advance.

pjcomix on August 23, 2006 at 8:55 PM

Well, that is just too cool.

Rightwingsparkle on August 23, 2006 at 9:08 PM

Rightwingsparkle—You can check it out with the organizer of that UCLA event, Jim Boren, at his web page below. To tell you the truth I found the premise of that event completly absurd—a SCHOLARLY look at humor. I don’t think you can have a serious discussion panel on humor. It just doesn’t work. And this one as described in my story was definitely boring except for the part about Florentiev. Boren’s wife (or maybe it was his girlfriend) really annoyed me with the proprietary way she acted over the visitors from the Soviet Union. This is why I was HAPPY to hijack her dopey agenda when the offical discussion part in the UCLA auditorium was over.

RWS is a keeper. Definitely.

Good luck, ma’am.
