Very good explanation by Ms. Phillips.
What she didn’t say and should’ve said was: FORGET ABOUT TOLERANCE, DIVERSITY, PC. ROUND UP ALL MUSLIMS, TOSS THEM BACK TO THEIR RESPECTIVE COUNTRIES. JUST DO IT NOW.

They presumably come to free countries so they can live in a prosperous, modern society because it’s better, more comfortable, than “back home.” Doesn’t it occur to them that just maybe they live like dogs “back home” because of the culture, the archaic political systems under which they live? Why the hell would they want to spread that disease to places that are healthy societies? It’s not the weather in the Islamic world that makes it diseased; look at Israel–a modern, wealthy nation surrounded by corrupt, oppressive regimes. That includes Iraq, by the way–the Islamists there are who are keeping Iraq from being the oasis in the desert that it could be. Even Turkey, an officially secular nation, isn’t so great; when you get outside the more modern cities the influence of Islamic law is palpable. Women generally don’t drive, they’re treated as second- third-class citizens, and they have “virginity control exams,” of all things. So people leave those places for a free society, yet the extremists want to turn the free societies into the pits of hell that their homelands are. And still, MP Shahid Malik is a rare voice, as evidenced by the publicity received for his statement that those who want sharia should leave. Frankly, you’d think that in a country that values freedom and democracy, such a statement would be commonplace. Clearly, political correctness and postmodernist worship at the altar of “diversity” and “tolerance” is bringing them–and us–closer to just the opposite. Islamists want to dismantle everything the free world stands for, and the politically correct appeasers will let them do just that. Also, she said they’re aware of “dozens and dozens” of plots by the terrorists. By my count, both plural dozens’s’, that’s at least 48, probably more likely 50 to 70 plots right now. In Great Britain.

This makes one think of many things, idiosyncrasies. It made me think of some oddities in our way of ‘laws’, what you can and can not do in America. I cant drive without a seatbelt on or I’m breaking the law. ‘Weekend warrior’ drug users can not use one time without threat of imprisonment, harming no one but themselves. You can not end your life prematurely, its illegal.
BUT, a religion/cult, muslims, islamafascists, whatever you choose to call them, a group that has one goal, and that goal is to make all of us believe only as they do or kill us all…..they have total freedom, and can and will talk openly in their mosques and on the streets about killing millions of infidels around the world. What is wrong with this picture?
I do not condone drug use at all. But I dont want to have to wear my seat belt either. How can our government be so restrictive in some cases but let an ABSOLUTE CLEAR AND PRESENT DANGER exist and thrive among us?
How many have to die before we all stand up and say “Wow, they really meant it when they said they would kill us!”
Will we then make new laws? Alter existing laws?
Mass murderers should never receive freedoms by calling it religion.
WHEN?

Ellen, that was a great comment. Kind advice – you started out right with “progressive” in quotes. There is nothing progressive about the Left. We should call them fauxgressive or always put “progressive” in quotes, when referring to them. Otherwise we falsely legitimize their claim on such a positive word. You wisely listed great reasons why they are nothing close to it.

Lady Heather, last night I saw David Cameron being asked about granting Sharia holidays in Britain and he dismissed it elegantly, saying that the country has one set of laws, and should work on continued unity.

I was in Europe in Aug. 2004 and was encouraged to vote for Edwards because he’s better looking than Mr. Bush. By then he wasn’t even on the front of the ticket. Not only are they clueless but also shallow.

No Language? New Phenomenon?

Phillips ends the interview with:

We cannot possibly adapt or adopt the same techniques of the past to discrete, particular terrorist programs. What we are facing with the Global Islamic Jihad is something we have never faced before. It’s not War as we understand it between (Nation-) States. It’s certainly not Terrorism as as we understand it.

We haven’t got the Language to describe this.

I do not agree with her last two assertions. We do have the language to describe Global Islamic Fascism. But do we have honesty to believe what the Jihadists actually say (that is they want to conquer the infidels and create a Pan-Islamic State governed by Sharia) and do we have the collective will to stand up to them?

And wrt her last statement, I believe that Baron Bodissey and Dymphna @ the Gates of Vienna Blog (http://gatesofvienna.blogspot.com/) have it right when they say that “We are in a new phase of a very old war.”
