The Sullivan rule is invoked: I’m not endorsing this, just “airing” it. Just popping the cork and letting it breathe. Just taking it outside onto the porch so it can feel the cool evening breeze on its cheek.
Does the name Tyler Hicks ring any bells, by the way?
Update: David Perlmutter’s essay on “photojournalism in crisis” is, justifiably, being linked far and wide. Let’s make it a little further and wider.

I’m continuing to repost that hospital shot where that dude’s head is clearly photoshopped in on the body of an Arab woman in a headscarf by the way, but as for “pieta”… Did you see the other 2 shots of that “body” taken just seconds before? Not the ones where he’s running around the rubble, that we’ve all seen… but two more where he’s laying in the rubble. I posted them a few days ago after a tip “Sticky Notes”

Good stuff, RightWinged. Apparently the “unconscious” man found the wherewithal to (sort of) hide his hat between photos.
And the thing with the doll(s) is interesting, too.
