Idiotic, dangerous UN move of the day

Oh, those panicky Israelis, alway so worried about who’s going to guard the northern border.
Israel says it would be “difficult if not inconceivable” to accept nations which do not recognise its right to exist as part of a UN force in Lebanon.
Israeli UN envoy Dan Gillerman was speaking after Indonesia and Malaysia, which do not recognise Israel, pledged troops for the UN deployment.
Malaysia said Israel should have no say in the make-up of the force.
Call me crazy, but I’m thinking that no Islamic country that doesn’t recognize Israel’s right to exist should have any say in the make-up of the force deployed to protect Israel’s northern border. But what do I know?
I don’t know for a fact, but I suspect, that the sudden rush by Malaysia and Indonesia to put a lot of their troops on Israel’s border isn’t for the benefit of Israel. I also suspect that they could, at any moment, decide to move that border a little further south. I guess we’ll just have to watch the deployment and note which way troops from certain countries point their guns.

Bold Prediction #1 – The current administration will cave to the League of Nations* on this and tell Israel that they have to accept the force whatever its composition.
Bold Prediction #2 – The League of Nations “peacekeeping” force will be extremely ineffective at keeping the peace, if not outwardly hostile to doing so.
* – League of Nations, United Nations … what’s the difference?

When will our country get the will to win this war on terrorism?

What war, rightside?
This is all just made up to distract from Ned Lamont.

We will get all of the players on the line here and then it will truly begin. My view is that I no matter what beefs anyone has with how the Iraq war was managed I am glad that the best warriors in the world are poised near the point where it will all start raging, and it will be soon.

OH YEAH, they DID!

The good news is that Malaysian and Indonesian troops are not much of a fighting force. The bad news is that they are likely to try to help Hizbollah. But the good news is that this makes them no worse than the rest of the “peace keepers.”

All the Malays and Indos would have to do is give the Hezzies their weapons. Stand back and enjoy the ensuing mayhem.

We need to get out of the United Nations now, they are a fecklesss and anti-American organization largely supported by our tax dollars.
We need to tell the U.N. to get out of the United States now.
We need to elect a President with the guts to tell the world that no country may contribute troops to Southern Lebanon that do not officially recognize Israel’s right to exist, or we will station troops in Northern Israel to counter the Muslim and U.N. troops aiding Hezbollah.
We need to help Israel do whatever it takes to stop Iran and Syria from re-arming Hezbollah.
We should not contribute any tax dollars to Lebanon relief, when we know it will go directly to Hezbollah to help them increase power by using it to buy more weapons. Plus, why should we contibute anything when Hezbollah caused all the problems and the death and destruction in Lebanon? Let Iran, Syria and Muslim nations, including France pay the bill.

Damn it! Bush and Cheney should have destroyed the UN rather than the WTC. How could they have been so incompetent???
Aunt B on August 18, 2006 at 4:03 PM
Aunt B, you may be on to something. The conspiracy theorists might ask themselves why the UN wasn’t targeted, as that would theoretically have led to greater international acceptance of the war on terror.

On the bright side, this will mean UN forces will fight against Israel which would lead to worse opinion of UN and maybe to its removal from american soil and the removal of us, the Uk and Israel from it and……..
nah i’m too optimistic

This hardly shocks me at all.
I don’t want the US out of the UN. I want us to hold tightly onto that “permanent seat” on the security council and VETO EVERYTHING THAT ANYONE WANTS!
However, I agree, we should stop funding the rest of the world. No country that isn’t behind us totally should get any of our money, no organization that supports the terrorist murderers should get our money… the UN is one of those organizations.
God, we’ve grown so weak. Half a decade ago, if anyone dared to capture any of our citizens like those recent reporters, we’d have gone ape-sh– on them until we got our people back.
how many US citizens have been murdered now, just the ones that were filmed and distributed over the internet?
sheesh.
sorry, kind of went off topic there

No rahjr2k you are right on the money. We have been allowing these freaks to kidnap our citizens for too long. You f- with the bull you get the horns!!!

If Indonesia and Malaysia contribute to significant degree to the “peacekeeping” force in Lebanon we could see futher escallation of hostilities. Put more Islamic nations troops in Israel’s line of fire and if for any reason they are harmed then add more nations acitively participating in the effort to destroy Israel.
I would expect, probably sooner than later, than any neutral Islamic nation’s troops in the “peacekeeping” force will be attacked by some Islamofacist element to gain more support for their cause. The Islamofacsit is only intersted in results – not methods.
