Your tax dollars at work: Arafat’s widow marries Tunisian golddigger

There’s a lot to be dug, some of it having come from U.S. taxpayers. 60 Minutes estimated Arafat’s personal fortune at $800 million as recently as 2003, which didn’t include the 100 grand a month being paid directly from Palestinian tax coffers to keep the missus in the Paris lifestyle to which she was accustomed.
But that was then, this is now. It’s Jackie O all over again, except this time Ari’s the one who’s on the make:
Suha Arafat, widow of Yasser Arafat, secretly married Lahasn al-Trabulsi, the brother-in-law of the Tunisian president, a number of days ago, a Tunisian website reported…
The marriage followed a wave of stubborn rumors in Tunisia, according to which al-Trabulusi planned to marry Suha’s sister. However, credible sources said that he divorced a few months ago to marry Suha and not her sister, and that one of the main reasons for the wedding is that is his interest in Suha’s large fortune…
Two years ago, after Arafat’s death, Suha was personally promised by Mahmoud Abbas’ staff that she would receive USD 22 million a year, on the basis of an agreement Arafat himself sent his wife while on his death bed – USD 11 million to cover her lifestyle in Paris for half year.
LGF does its part to keep the Arafat legacy alive with archival footage from a German documentary of Hitler meeting with Hajj Amin al-Husseini, Grand Mufti of Jerusalem, Nazi collaborator, father of Palestinian nationalism, and personal hero to Suha’s filthy former husband.

Arabs are so much better at keeping Arabs down than the West. I wonder if muslim outrage will cause them to kill Nasrallah when he begins fleecing Lebanon to arm Hezbollah?
And end the payments to Suha. As a matter of fact take it back!!

Didn’t the Mossad, or some other arm of the Israeli government, leak that Arafat liked boys? That would make the now dead PA leader either bi-sexual, with a twist toward pedophilia, or outwardly gay. In either case, his marriage would be a sham. Sort of like most marriages to extremely wealthy people.

And Arafat’s long decline & medical symptoms mimicked the progression of AIDS. But you’d have to talk to the French doctors who cared for him about that. TTBOMK they’ve remained silent until now out of respect for the monster. (And to think that the local “street” blamed Israel for poisoning him, of all things.)

I watched Michael Palin’s around the world series and one stop was TUNISIA. MP had an interview with one of the Tunisian officials..dont remember if it was a mayor or their eqivilant but his main point he wanted to make over and over was this: He was disgusted by “white European women” coming to Tunisia in order to find “young men”.
Apparently Tunisia is in the “gigilo” business. Wealthy European (read that as white!) women come there specifically because the young Tunisian men are more than willing to prostitute themselves.The Tunisian official interviewed was (understandably) disgusted that the women would do that but mostly that there were SO many young T men who would oblige.
There were always many rumors in France that Arafat was not inclinded toward women and that Suha was a female “beard”. The other rumor was Arafat’s child with Suha was begot by artificial insemination. That was the deal she had with him. She never lived with him in Gaza. She always lived the good life in Paris.

What do you expect from these people? Arafat was the mother of all crooks. How could you steel $800,000,000. and be totally commited to the people. I have no doubt that Hesbola and Hamas are basically graft engines set up to line the pockets of the leaders. However, the rank and file are too brainwashed to see it.
There is no substitute for character, and none of these Islamic types are due any respect for anything. It’s a main reason they are in the dismal shape they are in.

Kid, if you mean by ‘team’ who they prefer to sleep with, I think her ex was who he was, with or without her.
However, I consider Arianna Huffington and Teresa Heinz two of the most hypocritical people around – they change politics, depending who the latest husband is, Arianna for a lot of money, Teresa for the chance of lots of money first, and inhabiting the White House second.
Arianna was and is a Greek socialist/communist, educated in England’s ‘cesspool’ of ideas. It’s hard to believe how ‘intensely’ she was involved in her ex’s race for Republican Senator of Calif. and where she is now. I believe it was all an act. Thus, I don’t care what she says/writes.
Teresa is harder to figure out politically and otherwise.
