We got an email late last night from someone in the Israeli Defense Forces, returning home after battling with Hezbollah. He thanked us for supporting Israel during the recent unpleasantness, but to me it’s people like him who deserve the thanks for being willing to stand up on the front lines against jihad and duke it out with the terrorists. The IDF is in a very real sense civilization’s first line of defense.
The IDF soldier sent links to several videos on YouTube and elsewhere that really do bring some of the war into perspective for those of us who live thousands of miles away from it, so I thought I’d post them here.

Not to detract from Bryan’s sentiments, one bit; but …, the first pic on the link to the captured Hezbollah weapons … What is it with all the hot chicks in the IDF?

Lebanon is no more. All that remains is the terrorist state that should be called hizb’allahstan.
My compassion for the people of Lebanon has been completely exhausted. You made your choice and now you’re going to have to live (or not) with it.
Choices have very real consequences.

IDF does not exempt women from mandatory service. Given the fact that:
A) they are required to serve at a young age
and
B) they are in a military which will put them through rigorous physical training
…leads quite commonly to the outcome you note: “hot chicks”.
