When you’re 18 20 games out of first

I’m callously indifferent to the fate of the Baltimore Orioles. But I think this might be another fauxtoshop.

Update: I know just how ya feel, sister. I’ve been thinking that all summer long.

She gets around, doesn’t she?

52Ranger on August 15, 2006 at 11:49 AM

I expect to see her at the Phillies’ Citizens Bank Park next.

Dread Pirate Roberts VI on August 15, 2006 at 12:35 PM

When did the Orioles get a new mascott?

Rick on August 15, 2006 at 1:06 PM

Will she be able to handle it by Thursday night when they’re 21 games out?

JammieWearingFool on August 15, 2006 at 1:07 PM

Bow down to the one true Imperial Power.

Kid from Brooklyn on August 15, 2006 at 1:21 PM

Bow down to the one true Imperial Power.

You’re banned.

Allahpundit on August 15, 2006 at 1:24 PM

Allah, you a Red Sox fan?

Rick on August 15, 2006 at 1:50 PM

Allah couldn’t be a Sawx fan. Otherwise, I’d have heard some clever retort regarding the Great Collapse of 2004, and how Aura and Mystique are strippers in a club. Methinks Allah may be down with a small market franchise that’s good enough to get into the playoffs, only to end up Yankee cannon fodder. Say, the Twinkies?

Kid from Brooklyn on August 15, 2006 at 2:01 PM

If she came here to KC, she could have been wailing about the disproportionate response for months.

The Monster on August 15, 2006 at 2:03 PM

Kid From Brooklyn is my kind of guy.

Another resident of the Yankees Universe.

I think AP might be a Mets fan.

JammieWearingFool on August 15, 2006 at 2:51 PM

She’s definitely great fodder for a Caption Contest.

RD on August 15, 2006 at 2:55 PM

I agree TO deal makes keyshawn deal look as good as say Staubach. growed up dawn here

rojo on August 15, 2006 at 3:08 PM

I think AP might be a Mets fan.

Say it ain’t so!

Kid from Brooklyn on August 15, 2006 at 3:47 PM

If Allah would have really banned Kid, then yeah, Sox fan.

Rick on August 15, 2006 at 4:22 PM

Again, if Allah were a Sux fan, he would have run some 2004 smack. The 2004 fiasco wiped out 86 years of bitchdom, and SoxFan is quick to remind you of that fact.

So I hold that Allah is (m)aligned with either the Mets, or with one of the small-market Quadruple-A franchises. Think of a team whose free agents jump to NY at the first chance they get (Oakland), a playoff cannon fodder team (Minnesota, Oakland), or a crappy team that gets raided for young talent (Pittsburgh, KC, Tampa).

Kid from Brooklyn on August 15, 2006 at 4:44 PM

Philly – Allah is mad about Abreu going to the Yanks.

Rick on August 15, 2006 at 4:51 PM

Philly??? Abreu??? Be grateful we picked up their dead weight.

Kid from Brooklyn on August 15, 2006 at 4:55 PM

I will say this about our resident deity: What unites us is greater than what divides us.

Kid from Brooklyn on August 15, 2006 at 5:05 PM

Hope none of you guys bought any of them burka dogs she was selling!

entagor on August 15, 2006 at 9:58 PM

How long until al-Reuters uses that picture? It certainly meets their standards.

DannoJyd on August 15, 2006 at 10:17 PM

Make that 20 games out. Resistance is Futile.

Kid from Brooklyn on August 15, 2006 at 10:38 PM

Bah with all of you. I’m a Cubs fan. Or was. Have been. Hating life so much this season I can’t even name the guys on the team.

Pretty sure I’d switch over to Baltimore fandom on the promise of running into Josh Charles at a game. Fan of lost causes, selling cheap.
