[...] I wrote two posts about purported airstrikes on automobiles in Lebanon. Read ‘em. Note in particular the opinions of specialists that I quoted (and in the comments). And note the very unique “glancing blows” the cars seem to have suffered in the photos in the second post. Which, he would have you believe, is representative of missile damage. The possibility that the damage was inflicted by someone at the scene to make the attack look worse than it was apparently does not occur to this person. [...]

[...] The following photos showcars that were “supposedly” hit by Israeli missles. The damage suggests otherwise. You be the judge. Would an Israeli missle leave the car in such good shape? I have included a picture of a car hit by missles in Gaza. According to blog Hot Air: That photo, purporting to depict a car hit by Israeli missiles whose windshield nonetheless remained intact, was taken on August 6 by Nasser Nasser — who was also one of the photographers at Qana. Here’s another shot of the same car showing that its grill and headlights are missing. Maybe scavengers showed up after the “airstrike” and stripped them. Or maybe they were stripped long ago, before this piece of junk was dragged out onto the road and battered with something heavy in a pathetic imitation of explosive damage. [...]

I think the IAF is not actually bombing these cars. I believe that the IAF are bombing with cars. Nothing like dropping a 3500 pound Chevy Nova onto the top of a Hezballah Missle position. Very little collateral damage also.

In my opinion, neither vehicle was hit by an explosive warhead. Others have noted the lack of blown out windows or fire damage. I further note that all of the sheet metal damage is inward; had it been an explosive warhead from a missile, the sheet metal would be bent outward (what little sheet metal that would have been left intact). These vehicles look like someone dropped a rock or cinderblock on them from a height, as has been mentioned. At most, these took collateral damage from an explosion elsewhere. For what it's worth, I'm ex-Air Force (14 years) and ex-private cop (8 years); I've seen explosive damage, vandalism (cinderblock + overpass) and storm damage up close.

I don't suppose there's any BLOOD anywhere on these vehicles? What a fake.

The blogosphere has figured it out but how long will it take the old media?

The front windshields in both of the new photos are shattered. Modern windshields don't break like side windows - they have a plastic layer in them that makes them stay in one sheet, even if the glass is in a million pieces. (Speaking from experience, it's much nicer than being cut to ribbons.)

Doesn't look like it happened right there, tho. No side window glass on the road, nor any sign of what hit it. Presumbly, bombs don't perfectly vaporize after impact.

Allah,

Looks like they all came from the same car lot in South Beirut! One other obvious giveaway is that the tires are all in tact, at least the ones visible. Not one of them is melted which would definitely happen. As for the ‘bullet holes’, they look like they are straight down into the hood, if they are indeed holes. Near impossible trajectory from an airborne platform, should show some sort of angle. The grouping is pretty tight and there are only a few holes, doesn’t pass the smell test again. Also, don’t know of ANY drones that carry rounds, only missiles like Hellfire.

A missle penatrator with enough force to destroy a vehicle would implode all the windows just as it pentrated the interior due to vacuum pressure. It would also go into the ground because these are not armoured. A fuzed sensor weapon is designed to pentrate thick armor of a tank. It would wipe out a POV if it ever hit one. I've seen Hellfire, the FSW, and cluster munitons up close. I've even seen kinetic inert weapons in use. All do extreme damage to their targets. These look like a boulder was dropped in them.

Hmm, Laser Guided Boulders?

I guess the Israelis hired the Coyote to drop anvils on all these cars. They must have told him to "go out and get all those roadrunners!!" He must be flying around Lebanon in his ACME jet.

Good questions AP, I'd like to know as well. I guess my question too is: where are the scorch marks? Don't these missiles/rockets explode? If so, wouldn't there be easily identifiable evidence of a fire; even if the fire was brief?

The Jeep and the one above it look like they were hit in almost the exact same place in the same way... front part of the roof down towards the hood. The first one was damaged in the front part of the roof as well. Since I am obviously no expert; my question is: does that even tell us anything?

Again, this post says "Israeli missiles". Am I to believe that Israeli missiles cannot even blow up a Jeep? I've seen worse car wrecks. For crying out loud, I've been in worse car wrecks!
