It IS the whole of the religion of Islam and Jihad. Either the “supposed” moderate Islamics begin re-educating their people and expunging hate from the Koran or we will be at war for a century.

The fact that people like CAIR care more about what might be considered inflamatory statements than fixing their own damned zealots leads me to believe they might be complicit. Fix your religion fast, Islam! We will do it if forced, but our hand is often very heavy. The size of the smackdown necessary grows larger each day you don’t reign your crazies in.

Actually, there was some talking head on Sky News (via FOX) late last night as this was unfolding that said just that.

He said that if Blair didn’t side with Bush, there would be no terror in Britain, and that if Bush would pull out of Iraq, there would be no terror at all. (I’m paraphrasing, not an exact quote, but that was the jist of it.)

Not sure if the guy was a Sky News commentator or a Gov’t official, but he was one or the other; definitely not a ‘man in the street’ interview

Just got off work, so I can respond now. Fascism and Leftism are basically the same, I agree. Hitler’s regime and Stalin’s regime were both anti-religion, anti-freedom, anti-free market, etc. Hitler referred to his party as the National Socialists. The Japanese before WWII had a very controlled economy with no freedoms.

However, I wish Bush would refer to these terrorists and their sponsoring regimes as “Islamic Stalinists” or “Islamic socialists” because it would put their biggest backers–Hugo Chavez, Fidel Castro, China, North Korea on the defensive. It would also stress that they have a lot in common with each other. After all, there are no real “fascist” regimes right now in the vein of Pinochet and Franco. Leftists also love to call Bush “fascist,” confusing the issue.
