Rove: I called Lieberman to wish him well (Update: Liebs says jihadis = Nazis)

How badly does the GOP want Ned Lamont to win? Badly enough to publicize this fact.

I wouldn’t say Liebs is enjoying the news about the terror plot this morning, but I do detect a certain degree of pointedness, shall we say, in his statement on the subject: “This should serve as the latest, most serious evidence that we are in a war against a brutal enemy that intends to attack us over and over again in the most indiscriminate way.”

Got a nutroots reax mini-roundup coming so we’ll leave it there for now.

Update: Dick C. *hearts* Joe L.!

Update: Greg Gutfeld on Whitementum. I mean Nedmentum!

Update: Joementum on the trail, via Dan Riehl:

“If we just pick up like Ned Lamont wants us to do, get out by a date certain, it will be taken as a tremendous victory by the same people who wanted to blow up these planes in this plot hatched in England. It will strengthen them and they will strike again.”

The nutroots children are saying that ChimpyMcHitler and Rove planned this terrorist bust to steal Lamonts thunder.

That’s all kinds of crazy.

Larry Johnson is also spewing crap.

If the nutroots get any crazier, we should really have a fundraiser to help pay for their meds.

Us bloggers should help each other out.

In order to believe that kind of stuff, you’ve got to watch American Ninja 1-5. I’ve been through the whole series, and now I believe that shadowy organizations are building armies of ninjas to product their drug trafficking business. And if I can believe that, I can certainly believe anything the DU tells me.

With the Rev. Shakedown standing behind him how can he fail?

Dread Pirate Roberts VI on August 10, 2006 at 2:26 PM

Is there a truer statement that sums it up? Mr. Lieberman:

“This should serve as the latest, most serious evidence that we are in a war against a brutal enemy that intends to attack us over and over again in the most indiscriminate way.”

frankj, meds won’t do it. BDS and aADS (anti American DS) can only be addressed with prolonged couch sessions or a civil war (good thing they are against arms, eh?).

The Ned thing will be an aunt by Nov., whether Mr. Rove called Mr. Lieberman and said so, or not…We’re dealing with multiple elephants around the world. This will be peanuts.

should have written “…will be an ant thing”, nothing to do with uncles :(

I’ve had this wondering for the last year or so: will there ever be an opportunity for our country to heal? Have we crossed some sort of line, never to return? I don’t think it will matter what happens from here on out, and that includes some sort of nuclear/wmd catastrophe here in the U.S.–it will only serve to enflame the passions of the nutroots. When we stop the attacks, it’s Bush’s fault they were trying to kills. If we miss an attack, and we get bloodied, it’ll be his fault, only more so, because not only is he to blame for their rage, but he’ll get the fall-out for fucking up and missing the ‘obvious’ signs.

But even after he’s gone, and we’ve elected a new president, we’re fucked. If it’s a Dhimmicrat, well, game’s over. Time to go underground and fight a guerilla war against the Islamofascists. If the Pubs win, then it’ll be more whining about stolen elections, the rise of the fascist Rethuglicans, etc, etc, etc….

Man, this is depressing. Oh, well. At least there’s a story line for a novel in here, somewhere. I’ve had it running through my head ever since 9/11. Maybe I’ll start writing it after I’m done w/ grad school. Allah, may I borrow your muse? ;)

: “I have nothing to offer but blood, toil, tears and sweat.”

Wasn’t there a rock band with that name?

Looking at it this way might help: FDR’s New Deal so flipped out Republicans some went over to the dark side. William F. Buckley took a stand in the 1950s and purged the conservative ranks of the nuts. But it took four decades for the GOP to regain control of the House of Representatives.

There is no William F. Buckeley to be seen on the liberal side today. Pretenders yes. But even they are shut up fast by the nutroots. The left is going to be wandering in the wilderness for a long, long time . . .

Yes, there was a band called “Blood, Sweat, and Tears.” Churchill said to the people that all he could offer them was “Blood, Sweat, and Tears,” but the people rejected this because they liked Glenn Miller better.
