In a strange way, even though I rooted for him, I wasn’t sad that Mr. Lieberman lost. Yesterday was a very significant day in the history of the Democrat party and it opened up a clear fork in the road for all Americans to consider – survive or perish? Yet, who the competitors are on American Idol seems more important…maybe this Rome is slowly ‘dying’.

I used to watch C. Matthews a few years ago on election nights because he loves the political ‘game’ or machinery and had respect for whoever won, even if his party lost.

Haven’t watched him since mid 2005. It was scary to see him again last night. He looked and acted crazed. He was shocked when Mr. Schlesinger said “now the Republicans have a better chance”. He was down right mad that Mr. Lieberman wouldn’t support the Leftie.

Chris is looney these days but make no mistake he isn’t a dummy. He feels what is yet to come for his party. He also senses that the Rove machine isn’t finished yet.

He is also culturally inept for thinking too much of a male kiss. It happens in Europe, the Middle East and many cultures and means nothing more than a greeting.

LZVandy: While Bush is no Reagan Conservative and has suffered as much criticism from conservatives as from liberals, under his watch the economy has been doing great, the budget deficit (I hate it) is going down because of the significant increases in income to the Treasury due to Bush tax cuts. While we can all criticize various aspects of the war in Iraq, Bush has led a robust, no nonsense war on terror and has stayed true to his principles, we know that because he is equally attacked by those on the left and right.

Badly scripted talking points, for distance.

I think I can see why Lieberman lost (well, was going to lose, even granted everything else was equal). They played him on his opponents turf. I think those talking points probably lost him votes he could of otherwise had.

Ah, well. The DNC steps one more step left. Big Tent party, was it?
