Why, she’s gone cuh-raaaaaay-zee!
Admittedly, this is like linking a video of Adam Sandler holding forth on capital punishment. But it’s number one on YouTube right now under the header “Elisabeth Hasselbeck loses her mind!” and I thought you’d be interested in what passes for “losing one’s mind” these days.
New Pew poll:

The exciting conclusion follows.

Ha! And then at the very end she slips in an ethnic stereotype! Would have been great if that had started a whole nother thing. But I guess everyone knows that half-Italians are passionate.

Wow. the poll results are much different than I would have believed. I assumed most Americans were ok with people selling/not selling whatever they want.
Kevin M on August 3, 2006 at 6:30 PM
If liberals want to kill their babies, I’m certainly not gonna stand in their way.
The Ugly American on August 3, 2006 at 6:31 PM
I too thought it interesting that the Pew Center Poll shows an unbelievable 80% of the respondents were OK with forcing a company or person to sell something they were opposed to. Guess those respondents forget about the free market. It’s the road to tyranny to demand stocking of certain items.
I had that discussion earlier this year here.

I used to think Elizabeth a light-weight but she’s really come into her own.
But yeah…with Barbara “You come and go, we stay” Walters runnin’ the show…best to keep “crazy” moral opinions to yourself.
The Ugly American on August 3, 2006 at 6:37 PM
Elizabeth Hasselbeck is:
1. The hottie on the dais.
2. A stand up chick, as well as my homegirl
3. Slightly off the beam when it comes to what the Fed ought to do about Plan B.
4. Right on the money with the “Get your filthy mind off my uterus but give me free maintainence for it” argument.
5. Incontrovertable evidence that Baba Wawa is well past her sell by date. She should move to HDNet with Gunga Dan.
Pablo on August 3, 2006 at 6:37 PM
Is it obvious to anyone else how much the other women hate her? Aside from the fact that Walters couldn’t take her eyes of Elizabeth’s boobs in the “make-up” video.
And what is this gone “crazy” business? I never watch The View, but was that was passes for crazy there? Seemed pretty civil and ordinary to me. Maybe I just watch to much FNC.
RightWinged on August 3, 2006 at 6:53 PM
Agree with RightWinged…They call her crazy cuz she’s a conservative.
Have you seen the promo where Rosie O’Donnell says Elizabeth is completely wrong about everything? No media bias, eh?
PS. Is Rosie a bit of a cracked pot?
Joe on August 3, 2006 at 7:24 PM
The condescension from Babs to Elisabeth was amazing. The ultimate message:
Conservatives are “passionate” but liberals are “rational.”
We think conservative viewpoints are cute you better try and stay rational…
Also, it seemed no one could/wanted to actually debate her points and so they just told her to calm down. I liked how menapause kept using hte 12 yo rape/incest angle to argue but her real point was that she wanted to take the pill 3 days after sex with her husband(?) and go to the theater.
Finally, I didn’t know who Elisabeth was until this post… thanks Allah.

Neither did I Greg! Glad to know I’m not alone. Was the girl in glasses Lisa Loeb? If so, is she always on the View? She’s homelysexy.
Kevin M on August 3, 2006 at 8:14 PM
I think when Ms. Walters says we have to discuss these things rationally, what she really means is you have to agree with me. Lizzie, you go gurl!
huckleberry on August 3, 2006 at 8:16 PM
Allahpundit: You made me watch The View, you bastard.
Savage on August 3, 2006 at 8:22 PM
Man Pablo…you took the words out of my mouth.
4thelittleguy on August 3, 2006 at 8:25 PM
Was the girl in glasses Lisa Loeb? If so, is she always on the View?
Based on my one-fragment viewing from this morning’s show, they have “guest hosts” that come on with them, possibly only since Star Reynolds’s firing and until O’Donnell shows up? Or maybe all the time, I’m not sure because I don’t watch. Emily Deschanel of Bones was on this morning in Loeb’s seat. So probably Lisa Loeb was the guest host for that day.
Anwyn on August 3, 2006 at 8:43 PM
Please, no more references about the crack in Rosie’s pot. As it is, I’m about to start channeling Nancy Kerrigan post-lead-pipe-in-the-kneecap.
whyyyyyyyyyyyyy……whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy….whyyyyyyyyyyyy
Kid from Brooklyn on August 3, 2006 at 8:45 PM
Wooooo go Elizabeth go!
Of course Barbara has to start the Libs are the voice of calm and reason……
sMack on August 3, 2006 at 9:33 PM
no hat tip? You’re welcome.
For the cute blonde reality star she is, I thought Elizabeth did a great job making her point. As for “losing her mind” I thought they must have meant Joy Behar. Great point how conservatives are “passionate” but liberals are “rational.”
fudgypup on August 3, 2006 at 10:14 PM
Liked how when Lizzie tears apart one the argument, they want to change the situation.
Then she tears that apart and, oh my, she’s being crazy. Guess we’ll never see Ann Coulter, Michelle, Malkin, or Laura Ingraham on there. Their heads would probably explode.
raz0r on August 3, 2006 at 11:39 PM
If they had it hard with Hasslebeck, wonder what it would have been like with Michelle Malkin, Laura Ingraham, or, gasp, Ann Coulter?
Caution: Liberal heads exploding on set!
raz0r on August 3, 2006 at 11:42 PM
It was nice the way they tried to ostracize her. Good for her to atand her ground.
Plan B going OTC could turn out to be a bad thing. Will it be as readily available to minors having sex as alcohol and cigarettes? Probably not. Pharmacies will keep it behind the counter and regulate it. Minors will have a better chance of getting it off the internet.
Either way, add it to the list of responsibility escape routes. The current format allows it for those that truly need it. And by placing the Physician as the first line of care it helps provide psychological assistance for those in need (rape, incest).
If it does go OTC, and Pharmacists regulate it, then I expect a lawsuit from the ACLU within 6 months of release.
“Sorry, I am all out of stock” works pretty well though….

Caption for video #2: “Gee, thanks Grandma.”
BTW, I too did not know who Elizabeth Hasselbeck was before this and, uh, I think I love her. Heh (no offense to her husband, of course). Anyway, thanks for posting this, Allah.
Just another confirmation of the babe theory of politics. Chalk one up for the Conservatives!

Laura Ingram has been on that joke of a show and, on that day, it became more of a side show than it usually is. This was before Elizabeth was on the show, and the cats sharpened their claws for Laura from the moment she walked out. Laura, as usual, took all of them out (especially the wonderful Joy Behar) behind the woodshed.

I’d like to think Michelle has too much dignity to appear on The View. Then again, Michelle would probably relish the idea of smacking these idiots down.
