Two parts to this one. The first is self-explanatory, the second begins with O’Reilly asking him about his new gig at HDNet.
I didn’t know our money has “United We Stand” written on it.
But I guess that’s why we have newsmen. To inform.

Generous of O’Reilly to allow Rather to put the blame for mistakes in Iraq any ol’ place he wants.

You know, it sounded to me like he was saying dissent is not patriotic.

O’Reilly, as usual, is off by a significant amount. The BDS sufferers hate Bush ten THOUSAND times more than the right hated Clinton — those of us who actually went so far as to actually hate, that is. I suspect most were just deeply annoyed and disgusted with the loon, much like many of us are with El Presidente Jorge W Fox now…

O’Reilly hosted Rather for the same reason a lobbyist bows to a prostitute:
Professional Courtesy.

Is the second part yet to come? Did rather really say the money says “United We Stand”? I’ve got to see this… Luckily the late reairring of O’Reilly starts in about 20 minutes, I just don’t know if I can stand to watch a whole Rather segment, which I believe was a double length, as I saw it on earlier before changing the channel.

Idiot! But I really get my ire up when the MSM, including O’REALLY pontificates that there have been mistakes that should be discussed. OF COURSE THERE HAVE BEEN MISTAKES. There are mistakes in every war.
The second thing is O’REALLY, let’s this bungwrench say that the “War has not gone well” like he’s friggin Walter Cronkite! That’s his god damned opinion so say so!
Third is the fact that the MSM only covers the horaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa they make me mental!
As for HDNet this S*&*head couldn’t figure out how to set his tuner by himself.

“Our slogan in this country, written on our money and buildings in Washington…”
Maybe he was thinking of “E pluribus unum.” The words don’t denote standing or strength, just unity. They could just as easily imply that a few rotten apples spoil the bushel. Strength is denoted by the symbol of a bundle of reeds bound into a column–a symbol as old as civilization.
The slogan written on our money is “In God We Trust.” Somehow, he missed that.

O’Reilly mentioned blogs. The hatred of the DUmmies at the Democrat Underground and the KOmmies at the Daily Kos toward Bush is offscale. Of course, Dan Rather somehow doesn’t see it.

Dread Pirate Roberts VI – Right on bro – I couldn’t have said it better myself.
As far as this O’Reilly guy goes, I have been watching this egomaniac and biting my tongue and holding my nose. In spite of what he thinks, he is not “Gods gift to this world”. Putting that Rather egomaniac on and giving him a platform to spout his venom is unforgiveable. Why didn’t he ask him if he (Rather) was the person who created the fake “official government papers’ that turned out ending his career? That is what I (and I suspect a lot of other folks) would like to know. I think I am cured of watching “The No Spin Zone”.

The President was wrong to go easy on terrorists. The President was wrong to cut back on the size of our military. The President was wrong to have sex with Monica. I don’t agree with these three things he did then or now.
The Republicans DID participate in the personal destruction of President Clinton. I am a Republican and I agree with that statement. I do not think Bill Clinton was the worst President to be elected in our country. (I reserve that for Jimmy Carter). At the same time, I served his administration to the best of my ability, did not run to the newspapers to leak secrets harmful to the Clinton administration and make them look bad. I WAS part of that administration, and the two administrations before that as well. The difference is that Dhimmicrats want bureaucrats to be dishonorable now just to hurt a Man they don’t like.
The hatred and rhetoric surrounding the Bush II administration is way out of line. Rather saying, and O’Reilly agreeing with him, that if you cross the White House publicly, they will come get you, is stupid. Folks serving in the White House don’t have the time to come after people and destroy them. That may be a function of the party machinery. And they don’t act on every whim of the President (who has neither the time nor the inclination to respond to personal attacks — whether he is Bill Clinton or George W Bush).
The Dhimmicrats and the Republicans both participate in it. Currently I believe the Dhimmicrats have crossed every reasonable and tasteful boundary set in the previous 25 years. But they both do this.
The American public is not stupid. They see that both sides act like children during a time of war. They want the President to prosecute the war vigorously (more vigorously than he has). They want the terrorists stopped and the Muslim world’s attitude changed. If it takes sacrifice to achieve this, they will accept that. But someone better start explaining how this is to be accomplished. The reason Congress and the current President aren’t truly popular with voters is that they won’t go all the way in ensuring our security.
Welfare, health care, and social security don’t mean dick unless you can wake up every morning and make sure there isn’t a knife at your throat. Security in the form of the ability to go about your daily life without threats of bodily harm to you or your family are what matters most to every American. Try living your life without it. Like living without breathing.
O’Reilly is wrong. Rather is surely wrong. War is the most chaotic and complex of events. NOTHING goes right. But the side that perseveres and tenaciously pursues its enemies without reservation and without this petty bickering will be the side that wins.
I’m putting all my money on America. And none of it on Bill O’Reilly and Dan Rather.
Subsunk out.

Rather had an opportunity to apologize for his contribution to the anti-Bush paranoia and rancor with his approval and airing of the infamous Mapes production resulting from his own personal hatred of Bush. Of course, he has no awareness he has ever done anything wrong, much less his huge part in poisoning the national debate.

I agree 100%. O’Reilly and Rather are idiots because they think this is all about them. They claim they want to inform the American pople but they do not have a clue the way most Americans feel about most issues including the War against Islam fascism.
I think most Americans are frustrated that our leaders will not take the gloves off and fight this war as a WAR.
