Video: Hezbollah operating in Qana

posted at 11:46 am on July 31, 2006 by Allahpundit

No one this side of Riyadh seriously believes Israel targets civilians. Even the most cartoonishly Gibsonesque anti-semite can see that the 12 Jews who rule the world gain nothing by taking out women and children. At worst, Qana is a case of recklessness.

Was it reckless? Watch the video and judge for yourself. Rockets are being fired; the locals have been warned to leave the area; the IAF doesn’t know there are innocents in the building. Consider the calculus if you choose not to fire.

The dust has settled this morning in the usual fashion, with the press absolving Islamist savages and pig politicians exploiting the body count for their own agendas. Lebanon’s prime minister is pandering to public anger by kissing Nasrallah’s ass. The French are hailing Iran as a “a great country, a great people and a great civilization which is respected and which plays a stabilizing role in the region” just as the Iranians are comparing Israel to Hitler and rejecting the west’s nuclear offer. And of course everyone wants a ceasefire, even though the only party that would benefit from that is Hezbollah. Olmert says no thanks. As does Bush, for the moment.

The world’s best efforts notwithstanding, morale in Israel appears to be quite healthy indeed:

Finally, riddle me this: why is it that “fury erupt[s] around the world” when a building in the Middle East goes down, but when one goes down in lower Manhattan we get nothing but candlelight vigils and morons beating peace bongos in Union Square?

Update: Brilliant. Israel should start doing this too. No more respectful first-world treatment of the dead. The next time a bomb goes off in Tel Aviv or a rocket hits Haifa, just line the kids’ corpses up in front of the press. Have a female plainclothes officer on duty to pick them up and pose for photos. Play these bastards’ propaganda game on their own terms. It’s high time, really.

Update: The number of rockets launched against Haifa has been cut in half.

Update: Debbie Schlussel says there’s only one thing jihadis and their media apologists love more than dead Jewish kids. Bingo.

Update: “There’s always something burning with the jihadi members of the Religion of Perpetual Outrage.”

Great post as usual. That video of Hezbollah is quite condemning. Of course it will never appear on any mainstream news show. We’ll just get those staged photos from Qana.

btw as a note
the Israelis could do the same thing that the Muslims are doing in Lebanon but that goes against the word of God in the torah and against Jewish burial laws. God’s wrath vs cheap political pop, i’d go with the former any day

Good points, Allah.

The MSM has said these were dead “women, children and the elderly.” Not one asked where were the men. The only thing I’m sorry about is that Muslim’s all over the Middle East world use their children.

I would like to ask where is the outcry for the death’s of other children, say like in Darfur? There is none, eh Koffi.

If we are ever to have any hope of prevailing against our enemy we must acknowledge that our enemy has nothing to lose – death is victory.

I try to stay as far away for CNN as possible during my lunch hour, but I couldn’t help hearing across the room the obnoxious British reporter admitting (suprisingly) that the “innocent men, women, and children” are relatives of Hezbollah members and that is why they are still in the region of air strikes.

One question the MSM might ask: Are they being forbidden to leave by the “innocent” Hezbollah members?

Hezbollah committed war crimes in Qana.

Our media is perilously close to openly supporting Hezbollah by their coverage; they spend far too much ink and airtime on “outrages” committed by the IDF, and not enough on the people who started this war, who DELIBERATELY (not accidently) target civilians, who hide behind their civilian populiation, and who openly violate the “laws of war.”

Qana was, indeed, a war crime — committed by Hezbollah.

what is that, a joke? since 9/11 we’ve killed tens of thousands of Iraqis and Afghans. quite a fury, i’d say.

AP is talking about the response of the civillians of the countries, not the military repsonse.

“Fury errupts” = middle east muslim civillians
“candlelight vigils” = U.S. civillians

So, what is your explanation for the difference?

Excellent post.

I wish I could read that love letter to Chirac. It had to be something else.
