Israel must utterly destroy hizb’allah. Regardless of the ‘civilian’ casualties. That seems cruel, but to leave that critically important job undone will only mean greater and more difficult situations in the future.

I agree with Techno.

Effectively, “hizb’allah” are all civilians. Therefore, all hizb’allah deaths are civilian deaths.

The people who support and abet hizb’allah are also civilians. They may not all be combatants, but that doesn’t mean they are not the enemy.

Hence, the idea that Israel must fight this war without killing civilians is absolute and utter non-sense.

The fact that Israel can only win by killing the enemy combatants is pretty much a given at this point. But this is based on the enemies adjenda to continue terrorizing Israel, not Israel’s agenda to defend.

The fact that the true innocents are all the people/children hizb’allah forces to act as human shields is also a given at this point. But there is no way for Israel to distinguish between the innocents being forced to abet hizb’allah and the guilty who abet willingly.

But I heard this morning on FNC from a representative of the Lebanese people, that 80% – 85% of the people of Lebanon support hizb’allah.

Think about that. The same percentage or higher of Israelis support the military destruction of hizb’allah. Sure seems like the people of Lebanon have chosen the side of the terrorists.

Stop kicking this particular can down the road and finish the job, Israel. You will never have more support than you have right this instant.

I like Gillerman, so I regret that his talents are wasted on the UN Assembly. The UN Assembly seems to have become little more than a theater production put on to preoccupy the United States, and one in which the U.S. government acquiesces partly because it’s so impressive to private U.S. citizens. Maybe, as long as the show goes on, Israel must have its own actor in the cast; however, an unfortunate side effect of the presence of this intelligent, articulate, grave, and likeable man in the UN Assembly is that it perpetuates the problem of so many Americans’ taking the UN Assembly seriously and according it moral authority and even governmental authority.
